mechanics bitched about the engine. The alternator would go every 30k, which would normally be fine if it wasn't 8 hours to replace. or that the intake manifold has to come off the replace the rear spark plugs.
The V6 is actually a POPULAR swap into Pontiac Fieros since it bolts right into place using the 2.8L mounts, can use the Fieros transmissions, and makes impressive power.
And before you ask why the engine has any fans, it makes a fucking glorious noise and was known as a 7000 RPM screamer bone stock. It's the first American designed and built DOHC V6 ever.

Four chains, tons of cheap plastic chain guides that wear out anywhere between 40k and 200k miles and all of that is placed on the flywheel side of the engine to reduce its length front-to-back.

Basically you need to pull the engine at some point to replace those timing chain guides or risk grenading the entire thing.
