>tfw you're going to buy parts for your car but you have to take the bus because you live in a shitty, over-crowded city center and it would mean taking twice the time spent burning sweet premium gas in traffic jams
Share your experiences on why living in big cities sucks for /o/-related stuff.
>>16516579
Well traffic is shit and a lot of drivers are shit. Kinda speaks for itself.
>>16516579
UKfag here. As soon as I am in a position to be fully support myself, I'm getting out of this shithole of a country. No reasonably priced shops to work on my shitboxes, petrol is a joke, no E85, everything is overpriced.
>>16516637
Come to aus just don't live in the capitals.
East coast Is similar to cancerfornia but has the best cars and shops but also the worst states cops roads and rules.
Can't speak to much for the west or desert because nobody lives there literally desert wasteland especially the top end nth qld NT and wa

Maybe that truck takes up two and a half yurocuck lanes, but here we have bigger roads designed around automobiles and not medieval peasant handcarts.

1. I'm OP
2. I'm American
3. I live in the city, and behemoth vehicles like the OP pic are constantly in my way
/o/ am I getting fucked sidways by my insurance company?
Other day I called to change my insurance to 100/300/100 because my new job demanded it. I was already paying 190~ per month and they quote said it would go up to 260~ which I was fine with but now it's 300. What the fuck is happening
Forgot to mention I have 0 crashes on my record, no DUIs or any of that shit. Clean
That does seem a little high. I pay $168.88 for 100/300/100, but that's for 6 months.
looks high but it will be hard to say anything without

-location/city

i prefer it over all the other shit they have on tv
the first 1989 skyline ever auction through barret jackson and it went for 31,000
Too many American cars for me
>>16514629
Barret Jackson is the sole reason 70's and now 80's shitboxes are unreasonably over priced.
>>16514647
How?
Guise what would be a fair price for a 96' awd civic? Call me crazy but i saw one for sale and it's legit.

How can Germans even compete?
Buttons and fake chrome, MUST HAVE MORE BUTTONS AND FAKE CHROME!!
>>16514294
Reminds me of my old 2002 Chrysler 300M's interior. Had a bunch of fake wood paneling combined with fake chrome trim that would peel as the years went on. It got particularly bad around the door handles.
>mfw actually wasn't that bad of a car. very comfy land barge
>>16514345
I love buttons for every single thing in my car. And the plastic feeling of the fake chrome is great, it keeps it lighter, and when it cracks or fades from being cheap plastic sourced from china, you can just pull it off and replace it since it's only glued on. Truly the pinnacle of american car manufacturing, how does ford do it?
Hi new to the /o/ and had a couple questions about supras. I know they are great cars but why? What are the best years for them? What makes them good? How would I go about buying and fixing one up? Thanks
P I G F A T
>>16513497
>What makes them good?
The engine
That's about it
>engine is great
as for buying one good fucking luck
>too expensive
>almost never on sale anywhere
forget about it and move on to something else
Just got a raptor into the dealership.
Whats /o/ up to?
>>16513434
Is that a roush?
Lately I've seen a big talk about the new Fiata and the new Miata.
This made me wondering /o/: what's the deal with roadsters? Who are they targeted at?
>they're small
>they're expensive
>they're not very flexible
The younger part of the driving population might be the one that might desire such type of car more strongly, but at the same time it's the one that has less financial power, and roadsters ain't cheap, especially when there are hatchbacks that cost half as much and offer way more than just two seats and no trunk space; sure hatchbacks might not be as fun to drive as roadsters, but you might want to get something more out of your investment than just some fun and a charisma boost, especially when you can afford just one brand new car (let's ignore the used cars market, because car manufacturers don't profit out of that with their newest models).
>>16513976
>Who are they targeted at?
Employed 20 somethings who still live at home with disposable cash.
Professional 30 somethings that want something sporty, fun and have zero need for anything practical.
Hairdressers.
Men in their 40's and 50's who want to pretend they're in their 20's and 30's again.
Housewives in their 40's and 50's who no longer have kids living at home and their entire existence is getting their hair done and yoga.
>>16513996
>Hairdressers.
Nice meme.
>Employed 20 somethings who still live at home with disposable cash.
The point remains: why not a sporty (?) hatchback?
>Professional 30 somethings that want something sporty, fun and have zero need for anything practical.
Do they actually exist in such large numbers?
>Men in their 40's and 50's who want to pretend they're in their 20's and 30's again.
>Housewives in their 40's and 50's who no longer have kids living at home and their entire existence is getting their hair done and yoga.
Makes sense, although it's sad.
>the want a brz badly but don't know if I could live with the mediocre head unit/center console and impracticality
>tfw will probably get the new 2017 Civic Si when it comes out, which will be faster, with nicer interior, and more room for less, but won't be rwd or as fun to drive
>tfw no perfect lightweight sports car with Lexus tier fit and finish and interior quality, cayman tier handling and agility, high reving NA vtec engine with power delivery and torque curve of a Porsche twin turbo flat six, with a usable trunk and back seats that fit Peyton manning for under 30k
What is the most menacing looking car to see in your rear view mirror?
>>16513072
menace to society coming through
>>16513072
Just got a 1.9tdi vw Polo with 100k miles. It was freE.
It is due for an oil change and I bought pic related. Will it burn the fucking out of it? Who knows what was being used before.
Who knows?
Should be fine as long as its within your temperature range
>>16513046

>>16513090

I need an android head unit for torque and free google maps. I feel like the market is flooded with noname chinkshit based on the hardware of the old raspberry pi. Where do I find head units with more power than my 90s flip phone? I'm willing to pay a lot more than the 300 bucks all of the chink head units cost, but I just can't find something high quality.
>>16512346
Sony has a new headunit around $500 capable of running Android auto or Apple Carplay, which lets your phone do the heavy lifting. No clue is android auto lets you use the torque app, but it's worth looking into.
http://www.sony.com/electronics/in-car-receivers-players/xav-ax100
>>16512388
>android auto
Requires a cable connection with the phone, limited to mirroring basic navigation, call function and music. Torque is my highest priority.
bump, I would love to have the torque app on my dash it's simply amazing
