Dammit I have nothing saved on my phone. Keep this alive for a few hours and I'll try to find time to do a small dump.

thoughts on the cars in the new season of WRC?
i think it's shaping up to be a decent a season
Where do you watch this stuff, and where would one go to watch Group A era WRC shit?

Oh boy are you behind on the times
Looking to buy my first car that will be my daily driver and something that I can tinker around with and do some aftermarket stuff to.
Found a manual 94 Civic EX with only 60,500 miles on it for $4000 that looks to be in good shape, interior and exterior, would it be a good buy? I'd still kinda like it to be fun to drive and/or quick and nimble.
Pic related is it.
I would see if you can get a milage confirmation before spending 4k on it.
>>16519588
Its not worth 4k. Even if the miles are low.
>>16519588
looks decent, but not for 4k. 2k for that car max. Remember to look at other cars as well. I would look at a later model if only because those Civics suck in a crash. Most 90's compact cars sucked in a crash though.
Other cars to look at:
Pontiac Sunfire/Chevrolet Cavalier (only with the 2.4L Twin Cam or the 2.2L Ecotec)
Dodge Neon (manual only)
Nissan 200SX SE-R
Infiniti G20
Toyota Corolla/Geo Prism/Chevrolet Prism
Geo Metro/Chevrolet Metro/Suzuki Swift
What is the most fun car to drive as a daily? Is it really the Japanese Miata?
You can't put fun or daily drive capability in objective terms you retard.
probably not. i would guess a polaris slingshot
or maybe an atom or exocet?
>>16519155
Depends on what you find fun.
Hey /o/, I have a problem that I'm completely stumped on, and I don't want to take my piston barrels in to have it professionally done.
I have a 1978 Suzuki GS1000 that I'm rebuilding, but the gasket that goes in between the piston jugs and crankcase is completely stuck the hell on there, I've tried almost everything to get it off, but It's not even budging. Any advice on how to get it off?
Bear in mind, it's a cast aluminum piece from the 70s, so no razors or chisels, and my plastic scraper won't do the job. Pic related
Thanks!

Use an angle grinder.

Heat it up with a handheld burner and then try to pry it off with a screwdriver
Why? I mean I'm all for driving a gas guzzler like a true American and would never be caught dead in a Prius or Leaf (or God forbid, a Volt) but honestly, are you truck drivers that insecure that you can't park your truck in a normal space?
I dont drive a truck and I do it too. Dont be a pussy OP.
>he's too insecure to drive a certain car
Priuses are obviously not designed to be fun to drive but I had a good time driving my mom's when my car was disassembled in a garage.
Like it or not, hybrid and electric are the future and it was fun to watch the display show me how power went between the battery, engine, and wheels.
>>16517750
Yes they are. Everyone knows that anyone who drives a truck and doesn't do construction or hauling for a living is just a cuck trying to feel powerful while his wife is at home taking BBC.

Good thread everyone.
Let's call it a day and shower each other off.
ITT: post your insurance costs
1. country
2. car
3. cost
1. poland
2. focus mk1 diesel
3. cost went from $120 to $240 because of our retard catholic government trying to turn this country into bigger pile of shit than it is. still its insured for my parents. if i insured it myself, id have to pay over $500. thats literally more than car is worth.
>if i insured it myself, id have to pay over $500. thats literally more than car is worth.
That's not how insurance works. You don't insure yourself against damage to your car unless you get comprehensive. Liability insures you against damage to other cars.

of course it does, but that is still stupid. $500 a year may not be much for you, but its going to severely limit car purchases among young drivers. at the same time they plan on increasing price of bus tickets for uni students (its -50% atm). you would not believe how much changed in poland in a year, everything is going to shit, especially cars. taxation, insurance, fuel costs, its all rising. just kill me.
So I recently bought a miata, and I live in an area that gets a decent amount of snow at this time of the year.
Whats the best place where I can buy a cover that is snow/water proof?

A dealership near me wants 5k for one of these.
Should I go for it?
Not worth it?
>>16516886
I guess it would help if I added some details
From the dealership website:
Body Style: Hatchback
Model Code: P
Engine: 4 Cyl - 2 L
Transmission: 4-Speed Automatic
Drive Type: AWD
Ext. Color: Azure Gray Metallic
Mileage: 109,291
>>16516886
sure. Those are great little shitboxes.
>>16516899
5k for that is way too much
you can get an old v6 sonata for tgat much and it has way more power and its not a shitbox
Why r these as cheap as a corolla?
Please explain

Volvo v40 questions thread
Average reliability, above-average part prices and expensive dealership repair cost
Good car if well kept and you do most of the work yourself
Because they're fucking pieces of shit, with the added bonus of swedish engineering, just as bad as germans. I had to take off the side motor mount, accessory belts, timing cover, timing belt and timing gear sprocket just to remove the fucking LEAKING valve cover on a 2000 Volvo S40!
How are the new Volvos in terms of reliability?
Are they prone to break down as often as the other European brand cars?
