Why do we hate this car again?
>>17070461
Its slow, ugly, and looks like something a mom would drive her kids in yet for some reason millennials love it. Im guessing because most of them think they are chicks to begin with
It's 2017 and the damn thing is still using a 15 year old engine. It only managed to get fatter and uglier while power output remained the same
I blame it's lack of competition, Subaru doesn't need to try when there's no Evo
>>17070478
Let's also forget the fact you can easily tune it to 400hp because of that engine. Another 10 grand of parts and you'd have 600+. A car that you can buy around 33k. Fucking bench reaching shits.
Funniest/worst/boomer craigslist ads.

I saw "LA," "Supra," and "Automatic," and expected it to be that fag LoL streamer selling his Supra that he fucked up terribly and am genuinely surprised that it isn't.
This one's even worse.

What are some good sites to score an NA?
Craiglist has really slim picking in my area.
>>17046990
There's no way to buy a good cheap NA anymore besides sheer dumb luck. You literally have to pay $5000 minimum for a truly clean example, at which point you may as well save up $2000-4000 extra to buy a clean NC owned and maintained by boomers.

I'm sad now
>Son, those shitty jap cars you like were already rusting in the showroom
>>17086776

I live in a desert, there is no rust here
Le outdated opinions man
When is the next socal meetup?
>>17086599
It's this Saturday, but a certain lazy vape nigger hasn't posted the thread yet.
>>17086843
What??
Isn't it always the third saturday of the month?
Talk me out of it /o/
>>17086561
>Take shitty unreliable car
>Put reliable engine in it
What's not to love? Buy it before someone else does.
>>17086561
wtf i love buying houses now
>>17086561
Do it if you trust someone else's work. I'd try to get a bit lower of price. Also the swap kinda ruins the dynamic of the car, I had a s2 and it was made for long, curvy country roads and still being a practical dd. The extra weight and power kinda ruins that but you do you.
I'm sorry for starting this thread /o/, but I just really need some outside advice.
I'm torn between two hatchbacks, both are available right now and I need to know which direction to go
>2005 Honda Civic Si
>$3900
>Top pic
I could easily pay cash for this no problem. It has 174k miles which is more than I would like, 2.0L I4 engine, FWD, manual transmission. The Honda Civic Si is generally more sought after as a hatchback than the Golf and it was definitely harder to find this Si than it was to find the Golf.
>2007 Volkswagen Golf GTI
>$5800
>Bottom pic
This one would be harder to pay cash for but I could make it happen. 140k miles which is also higher than I would like. Also has a 2.0L I4 engine, 6 speed manual, FWD. Mk5 is generally considered one of the best GTI's but when compared to Si's they are usually considered to come up short.
Both are nice and I would love either one but one is cheaper and the other one is newer. Thoughts on the Si vs the Golf GTI?
>>17086544
Yoir Golf is going to cost loads more to repair.
Get the si because fuck Volkswagen
>>17086544
You seem to be confused, you're asking for car advice on /o/.
This board is for endless Camaro vs GTR threads and Miata jerkfests.
When will the Town Car be phased out? I have seen a few in NYC, but a majority of limos are TCs. When will they all be replaced by the Continental?
Im seeing more and more CT6 platinums in place of XTS's as well
Town Cars can go 600k+ city miles
Can't see any of the cars you mentioned doing that.
>>17086272
not until they literally fall apart.
I want a continental so bad
redpill me on this car
Bigger, cheaper VW Passat with umbrellas hidden in the doors.
>>17086137
it's pretty superb desu
Cheaper slightly more reliable Volkswagen Passat.
Would you ever buy a new car, or is buying a new card straight up retarded?
Eh, I prefer used due to the "more for your money"-stuff
I also kinda like "older" cars like mine where I dont have any technological stuff that interferes with the driving and will sooner or later become an annoying fault
If I had money to burn, I guess. Otherwise it's just not that important to me when you can find something almost as good for much cheaper used.
Besides older cars are almost always objectively better until they turn into problem cases.
If it was a sports car that I expected to keep indefinitely and not commute in, probably. I'd buy the SFR new. Maybe an ND Miats.
I was an apprentice for a Independent Rolls Royce and Bentley service garage, from when I was 15 to just recently, I'm 21. Recently the owner started to get violent-started throwing things, being generally abusive which sounded too much like my father who's an alcoholic. Besides that he has held pay before, promised many bonuses but never given them and he has had every tech leave him before for almost the same reasons, but I put up with his crazy until he started putting his hands on me and throwing things. I know I cant help him, so I left to find another job. Since I was just an apprentice, there's not much I can do legally since I went in getting paid under the table (since I was young). I know I can also go back to college if I choose to do so, but I don't think its what I want. The kicker here is that I'm currently going to court for a suspected OVI, I wasn't drunk I refused to take the breathalyzer but this is a whole situation unto itself, but alas I cant drive for the time being. I recently went to two garages for work walking distance from where I live that also specialized in restoration- one for Porsche and one who does open wheel racers, jaguars, and other unique cars. The initial garage I went to was the open wheel and jaguar garage (for the sake of this text), they told me if they had work I could do they would call me, and the second was the Porsche garage who when I walked in acted like I would be hired immediately, so I stopped looking for a job. 4 days later I'm told that they cant hire anybody now, so I'm stuck without a job on the last week of the month. I'm honestly stuck, I don't know what I should do. There are fast food places nearby that are hiring but I would prefer to stay in business restoring cars, but I don't have a whole lot of options. Any ideas anybody? I could really use some encouragement
pic related, an MG TF I worked on restoring
Oh hey you where the cocky faggot that was talking shit about my s14
>>17085753
I doubt it, I'm not on here a whole lot.
>>17085743
>he started putting his hands on me and throwing things so I left to find another job
Faggot coward. You should have punched back, hard. Then gotten back to work.
23 years old and i don't have a drivers license. what is your honest opinion of me?
you are either european or are privileged enough to not require a car for your daily activities.
: )
Too little information to form a fair opinion.
>>17085640
depends where you live and your situation.
If you're in America, specifically, NYC, its not bad as theres no point for a car.
If you live somewhere that isn't a congested shithole then I'd ask why the fuck do you not have your license and how do you get around?
Is this a good car? Will it get me to my job at the cheese sandwich factory?
Are you a farmer?
No, it's a horrid pile of shit. I don't know why you'd spend $12,000 on a 27 years old Chrysler which is NOT a Maserati.
>>17085569
The turbo Chrysler K-cars are fairly reliable. ignore the posters who know nothing of the unkillable K-car and think all chryslers have Daimler-Chrysler-tier reliability. That car is from before the German invasion and isn't the V6. It'll be perfectly reliable. However. That is not a car you want as a daily driver if only because it's so rare. Should anything go wrong with the body panels or the cylinder head, good fucking luck getting parts. Everything not the body or cylinder head will be easy to get parts for. The Chrysler TC by Maserati is supposed to be a garage queen that only comes out on weekends.
I want a car with a V12 in my life, preferably for under 30k.
Which V12 is best V12?
>>17085536
850
>>17085539
I definitely get you there, but they're like 200 HP, right?
>>17085536
Xj12
regardless of the haters, the electrics are fine
and cheaper than an 850
Is an Altima a good car?
>>17085509
No. Buy an Accord, or a Legacy if you want AWD.
>>17085521
What's wrong with it?
>>17085530
Nissan can't build good cars.
>CVT drives like ass even though they've been putting them in cars since 2003 or so
>Same 2.5 it's been since 2003 with minor revisions
>Interior falls apart fairly quickly
>The Continental tires they come with don't last long at all
>Numb steering
I'm a tire/lube tech so I might be jaded because I see the worst of everything though. It's your money, test drive all your options and pick what you like the best.
