What even happened to the Pontiac Solstice?
Is there even an aftermarket?
And is it better than the third gen (NC) Miata?
piggu fattu
If you can find that trip named Kappa he's your guy, owns a black Sky I think. Different than the NC, not necessarily better or worse.
fat and unreliable
basically - how to not make a roadster
>get new car
>been on my Mom's insurance forever with 04 Ford Focus so insurance is never a thought cause it's cheap AF
>Finally get a new FiST and need COMP coverage now
>Mom's insurance tells me it's gonna be something a little above $2,400+ a month.
>Quick quote from GEICO online for full coverage is saying $1,050 a month.
What's with the huge discrepancy? Are the jack off employees at my moms insurance company insuring us for way to much and fucking with us? Idk what gives?
>>17079821
>1k a month insurance
Boy I do like my 70 a month.
>>17079821
My guess.
>You are under 25
>You bought a turbo car
>Went from liability to full coverage.
Stull seems pretty fucking high though. I pay like $1200 for 6 months on my wrx. They wanted like 7k a year for full coverage on my bike. ended up saying fuck that going with liability only and it's still like $200ish a year
>>17079850
Those were 6 month prices, my bad. Switching from my mom's booty ass insurance to Geico will see me go from $400+ a month to $180 a month.
>>17079855
>23 almost 24
>yup
>also yup, old insurance wouldn't do full coverage on my old ass Focus.
Yeah Century(my mom's insurance) is absolutely absurd. Idk if I'm already locked in for 6 months since we called and swapped it yesterday but I'm GTFO after and going to Geico.
I've been driving since I was 18 and have never been in an accident or close and I was telling my mom I was thinking about going from full coverage to liability only and of course she trips out and starts jinxing it saying "The second you do that is when you're gonna need comprehensive!"
This Honda just slapped your shitbox's ass on the track, what do you do?

Could you recommend some realistic, but fun, driving game? I used to play Richard Burns Rally way back when, which was legendary for its realism but it wasn't very fun. I'd prefer something street-racing themed with an open world, like TDU, which of course wasn't very realistic.

Gran turismo 3
Race 07, GTR FIA, GTR 2
Those simbin games were dope asf

There's a 2003 BMW Z4 with 23k miles at a dealership near me for just under $13k. Why should or shouldn't I buy this car? Why would this car be so cheap? Other Z4's with significantly more miles, albeit newer, are more expense.
It's a good car but keep in mind that if you're ever going to track it you will need to either get a factory hardtop, install an aftermarket roll bar, or both. If the car already has a roll system in place that meets the track organization's requirements, then you will need to get a hard top too I believe.
>>17079584
the're so cheap because they are trash cars. i had one myself stick shift and it was a nightmare when it needed maintenance. i had the same year a little bit more miles and i sold it for 7500
if its a 2.5i stay away from it
they're fucking slow.
only go for the 3.0si's
Well guys.. How fucked is it? Just happened and it was about half that size 2 miles ago.
Should I throw the doughnut on for the next 3 days till I get a new tire?
>>17079561
It is "dangerous" but people drive on worse for months or years sometimes. Driving on a donut for 3 days is just as retarded.
It will eventually blow out. Replace now. Or move to rear of vehicle. Replace advised.

Hmm...
>saved up about $30k for a new car
>start looking at brand new models that run about that price
>"oh, I could get a used one with super low miles for only 25"
>"oh, the previous gen is only 20"
>"this private seller has this other car for only 15"
>"or I could get this one for only 10"
>eventually I'm looking at like 15 year old cars for only $3k
Why can't I bring myself to buy something nice? I've been through 4 cars in the past 10 years but the most I ever paid for one was $2500. Even now I have a great job and could afford to buy a really fucking nice car if I felt like financing.
How do make the dive into a new car?
For starters - accept the fact that regardless of which new car you buy, you'll wind up losing a ton of money on it.
>buy 3k car
>put 10k of work into it
>bam nice car that will last you
>>17079541
Don't bother
Just buy a string of old hilarious shitboxes, or a nice old car and keep it running
I'd rather have a $15K classic and the same again in spares, than a brand new boring gray blob
figured I'd ask 4chans opinion on buying a 2011 328i BMW.
Whats your budget and whats ur needs.
Why not 35i
Get the 335i if you can afford it. You will want a bit more power.
Good car all around, but WILL wish you had those turbos.

I've been very keen on getting an NG 900 or a 1998-2002 9-3 as my first car and I've just found a low mileage NG 900S for a decent price. While I'd have preferred an SE, this one not only ticks most of the boxes but is being sold close enough to a mechanic friend of mine who will hopefully be able to check it out for me.
Is an NG 900S worth getting or should I wait for an SE or a better 9-3 to come along? How viable will it be to upgrade it over the long term? I've heard the turbo in the 900 engine was a bit crap so it's be great to replace it for example.
Also, let's have a general SAAB thread. I saw a classic 900 parked nearby the other day that was in such good condition that it seemed new. It put a smile on my face.
>>17079104
Upgrade the PCV since the downpipe runs close to the oil pan.
change oil at least once a year or twice a year so you have winter and summer oil if you have harsh conditions or drive a lot.
Stiffer rear suspension is a plus since it's kinda mushy.
there's cheap tunes for those that bump up the torque.

Example of what the cheapest and weakest tune does to the B205 engine.

I did it and I'm not a mechanic so it's not that hard.

Thanks for the tips and the links.
It's a 1997 900 and I think they still used the B204 at that point. I hope most of it still applies though.

Gawd musheen. Can't wait for the new NSX Type R. shits gonna get ballistic.
Hondu a best.
If you had the money to spend on any one of these, which would you rather go for?
the GTS obviously. what's the point of an S class with an uncomfy ride?
>>17078888
>Any one of these
>Two options
>Mercedes
I'd spend the money on assisted suicide.
>>17078888
Corvette with 1200hp. Spend the extra on sound deadening, race fuel and hookers.
What is the cheapest car that will turn heads(in a good way)?
Where I love the streets are plagued by Camaros, Mustangs, and Challengers/Chargers so I just ignore them mentally, but what car when you see has you whipping out your phone and taking a picture of it?
>>17078537
Late 50's and early 60's volkswagens
then you should get a bunch of tattoos, and work in a tattoo parlour and be friends with all the freaks there and listen to non stop rockabilly and evanescence
All memes aside, what brand new car would you buy for 30k and under?
I'd go with a Miata Club with no other options.
gt86 aeropack and 5k for wheels n tyres
>>17078530
BRZ, spend the rest on track days and tyres.
