street """harassment""" in NYC.jpg
10KB, 300x165px
A man walked passed a woman and verbally raped her by saying "You're fit as fuck!"
Fortunately this street harasser didn't get away with it. A man with the victim chased down the harasser, bit a chunk out of his face, and started beating him. The victim then joined in too.

PATRIARCHY BTFO! Let this be a lesson to anybody else who would dare to harass women on the street like this.

I said something like that once to a tiny woman at a bar (as an instinctual reaction, not as a pickup btw) when she put her elbow on the table which suddenly revealed, unflexed, an enormous bicep -- she turned out to be a professional athlete.

So yeah, as a moment of surprise it maybe makes sense, but not just on the street.

>I thought after we buy stuff we own it and have all the rights to do whatever i wish with the device. ( at least in 3rd world countries )
I don't know if it's generally acknowledged by the law in third world countries, but for the most part, when you buy something (particularly electronics or software) there are things the manufacturer says you can't do with it. Like you're not allowed to reverse-engineer software, redistribute it, or use it for commercial purposes.
>>
>Right to Repair Bill
>forcing technology manufacturers like Apple, and others, to release electronic parts and design manuals to independent repair shops.

You don't even have to do that, you just have to stop punitive legislation by corporations against those who don't have the money to defend themselves.
>>

Apple truly is a terrible corporation. They get away with it because of brain dead hipsters worshipping it like a cult.

http://www.voanews.com/content/china-mosquito-factory-aims-to-wipe-put-zika-other-diseases/3445390.html

>GUANGZHOU, CHINA—Every week, scientists in southern China release three million bacteria-infected mosquitoes on a 3 km (two-mile) long island in a bid to wipe out diseases such as dengue, yellow fever and Zika.

>The scientists inject mosquito eggs with wolbachia bacteria in a laboratory, then release infected male mosquitoes on the island on the outskirts of the city of Guangzhou. The bacteria, which occurs naturally in about 28 percent of wild mosquitoes, causes infected males to sterilize the females they mate with.

>While a female mosquito that acquires wolbachia by mating is sterile, one that is infected by injection will produce wolbachia-infected offspring. Dengue, yellow fever and Zika are also suppressed in wolbachia-injected females, making it harder for the diseases to be transmitted to humans.

>Xi set up his 3,500 square meter (38,000 sq ft) "mosquito factory" in 2012 and releases the males into two residential areas on the outskirts of Guangzhou. Xi said the mosquito population on the island has been reduced by more than 90 percent.

Now I'm not saying that exterminating mosquitoes is a bad thing but it might have some unintended consequences. But you know what? Pull the trigger, I'm sick of these blood suckers. China for the win.

>unintended consequences.
This. But there are some points to keep in mind:

1. Mass-killing of mosquitoes has been used regularly in disease control for decades (sometimes even at near 90% reduction). The consequences to wildlife who feed on the mosquitoes seem to have been minor. Use of chemicals/insecticides for control (DDT was one example) has, as one would expect, caused an increase in mosquitoes resistant to that chemical, so any method for massive long-term use needs to be 100% effective (in terms of if the mosquito is exposed, it is 'infected', no exceptions).

But yeah, in general the collateral damage has been so little in previous tests that some biologists/ecologists have advocated eradication of certain human-focused species of mosquito (about 1% of species).

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosquito_control
>>
If we rid the world of mosquito's then it'd cause a temporary change in the ecology. Certain animals that thrive on eating the mosquito's will suffer losses but with their diminished numbers their other prey will start thriving which will also start to increase their numbers.

Remember, life will find a way.
>>
>>64280
For my area, this would be green frogs. They can also be a bit of a pestilence, just in ways that are different from the mosquito. I certainly wouldn't object to eradicating the human-focused species. Just keep some DNA stored in case they ever have some sort of use in the far future.

There is so much wrong with this idea, children need to be confabulate with the naked body, or else they are going to grow up to be scared of it. To be naked is a natural thing. Today we are over sexsulasing the body and Muslim men is a good example of what happens when you never see a naked woman doing anything but sex.

>Conservative radio talk show personality Glenn Beck is suing the former CEO of his network, TheBlaze. According to Law Newz, Mercury Radio Arts Inc., Beck’s production company, has filed a lawsuit against Christopher Balfe, CEO of TheBlaze from 2009 to 2014.

>Balfe is accused of breach of contract, general mismanagement, breach of fiduciary duty and fraud while he was MRA’s chief operating officer and TheBlaze’s chief executive officer. Balfe was paid more than $13 million in salary and benefits during the five years he led the company.

>Beck’s attorney, Eliot Burriss, wrote in the lawsuit, “This is a shockingly excessive amount that far exceeds appropriate compensation for companies of Mercury and TheBlaze’s size and financial performance.” He said Balfe never submitted his compensation to MRA’s board of directors.

>The complaint accuses Balfe of “fraudulently causing Mercury to sign an unnecessary lease thereby taking on a $20 million liability,” when, under Balfe’s leadership, the company acquired costly office space. The company leases the entire 12th floor of the Five Bryant Park office building in Manhattan, N.Y.

>Turkey sent a second document to the United States to request the arrest of Fetullah Gulen, the Pennsylvania-based Turkish cleric Ankara says was the mastermind of last month's coup attempt.

>"We wrote and sent it," Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ said Tuesday, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported. "There are serious claims and expressions that Gulen has a hand in the coup attempt. ... We have intelligence that he could flee to a third country.

>Bozdağ said that if Gulen leaves the United States, it would be with the full knowledge of American authorities. “If he escapes then the U.S. would either have turned a blind eye or approved of it,” he said.

>Turkey sent its first extradition request July 19, days after the failed coup that left hundreds of people dead.

>Secretary of State John Kerry has said Turkey must provide evidence of Gulen’s involvement for a judge to consider any extradition request. State Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau said extradition is “a very legal, technical process.”

>India is rushing aid to thousands of its citizens in Saudi Arabia who are running short of food after losing their jobs.

>The Indian consulate in Jeddah said it distributed 15,475 kilograms (34,100 pounds) of food including eggs, spices and salt over the weekend. It said it was trying to reach all affected Indians "to help them overcome this crisis."

>Sushma Swaraj, India's Minister of External Affairs, said that a large number Indians in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait had lost their jobs, and were owed wages by their employers. Many are now stuck in camps for migrant workers.

>"I assure you that no Indian worker rendered unemployed in Saudi Arabia will go without food," Swaraj said on Twitter. She said more than 10,000 Indians in the country were facing a "food crisis" and dispatched one of her deputies to the country.

>Vikas Swarup, a spokesman for the foreign ministry, said Tuesday that initial number was an approximation, and that 7,700 Indian workers in 20 camps were affected by the crisis.

>There are roughly 3 million Indians employed in Saudi Arabia, which depends on foreign workers to fill jobs in its services, manufacturing and construction sectors.

>Conditions at the camp are bleak: Trash collection has stopped, and there's no electricity. The workers get water from the mosque across the street. Police are stationed outside after protests erupted in recent weeks.

>The workers cannot leave Saudi Arabia because the company holds their passports.
