>A version of the Clinton-star graphic appeared earlier on a white supremacist website. According to the Associated Press, the image showed up in late June on a neo-Nazi internet message board, /pol/, that features anti-Semitic posts.

Most of the sites reporting on this are propagating the lie that it first appeared on /pol/. Then most of the rest correctly acknowledge it first appeared on twitter but are still trying to pin Trump as a racist, anti-semite, etc because that twitter user had controversial posts like that. It's like when he gets in media trouble over some of his retweets which came from controversial users, which is basically attacking the messenger instead of the message. Is any mainstream media outlet actually pushing a different narrative than that?

A Dorset Township couple was sentenced to 10 years each in prison Monday, after pleading guilty in May to abusing their adopted children physically and psychologically.

Ashtabula County Common Pleas Judge Marianne Sezon sentenced both David, 60, and Rejeana Moss, 66, to two consecutive years on each of their four felony counts of endangering children and one count of felonious assault, with three years probation to follow. Each charges carries a maximum three-year prison sentence.

Prosecutors alleged the Mosses locked four of their adopted children in their rooms “virtually all day, every day,” withholding food, leaving them without beds to sleep on and giving them buckets and a metal container to use as toilets, said county Prosecutor Nick Iarocci.

Though the Mosses claimed to home-school their children, the kids said they never followed through. Their bedroom windows were reportedly boarded, with curtains stapled to window frames, to keep them from looking outside. One child made notches in a bedpost to keep track of the day of the week.

Discipline in the home was also excessively harsh and physical, according to prosecutors and the children. A paddle later found by investigators at the home bore permanent bloodstains.

“I am sorry that my failure has continued to burden these children’s lives,” David Moss told the court through a statement attorney Paul Miller read for him as he struggled with tears. “Knowing that (it was) my lack of ability to parent these children with all these special needs has been very disheartening.

“Due to the lack of education and experience, I failed. For this, I’m very sorry to the children and the court.”

The Mosses accepted a plea bargain on May 9, admitting to about half of the abuse charges. The original indictment in February 2015 also included kidnapping and sexual abuse charges against the couple’s two juvenile daughters, which were dropped as part of the plea deal.

The couple’s attorneys, Miller and Cory Hinton, sought probation for both, citing otherwise clean criminal records and Rejeana Moss’ health issues, which require regular blood checkups.

Rejeana Moss told the court “the past is always more clear than the situation at-hand.”

“I have spent many hours, days and months praying and going over my years as a parent,” she told the court. “I have looked hard at both my successes and failure. I have looked at how my parenting has had to change with different children, the times, outside influences, problems and/or disabilities of the children that have come into our home.

“I have never wanted to hurt any child,” she continued. “I am sorry that these children have been hurt in any way by me. I hope and pray they find peace and full lives as I have tried and failed to do.”

Last year, Ryan Moss — one of the Mosses’ adopted sons who left the home in 2009 — told the Star Beacon he had alerted the county Children Services Board to the conditions in the home four years before authorities removed the three other adopted children from the home. The children weren’t removed until September 2013 — one month after the Mosses’ adopted juvenile daughters escaped the home by stealing and later crashing the family van.

He said he even gave children services his diary, which they kept as possible evidence. But Ryan Moss said he felt his initial abuse claims were brushed off in 2009, and the girls and the developmentally disabled adult male remained in the home for another four years.
>>
It’s unclear how the Mosses were investigated at that time, as complainants are not necessarily kept in the loop once abuse claims are lodged and department cases are not public record, according to CSB officials.

Tania Burnett, CSB executive director, said following the verdict, “I think today justice was served. ... I thank the prosecutor’s office and law enforcement. I think our case workers did an awesome job working with the kids to get to this point, and we’re just happy with the outcome.”

Prosecutors read victim impact statements from Ryan Moss and the two girls, describing the lasting trauma of their ongoing abuse.

Ryan Moss wrote his years with the Mosses left him with anxiety and depression, which affects his ability to find a job. He also touched on the lack of proper schooling, and his stunted social development as a consequence.

“With all the above-named issues and the Mosses putting me down emotionally, I lose faith in myself, confidence — I get overwhelmed,” he wrote.

The Mosses’ older adopted daughter recalled in her statement showing her homework to the Mosses. For every paper that contained a mistake, she received 10 spankings with the aforementioned paddle.

“It was 30 papers,” she wrote. “When they were done, there was blood on the paddle. It was horrible. They gave me 300 spankings. I hated them so much.”
>>
She and her younger sister also recalled physical attacks from Rejeana Moss — but neither knew what they did to incur them, they wrote.

“There are no winners in this case. This was a tragedy for all involved,” Iarocci later said. “The victims will have to endure for the rest of their lives the impact of the seclusion, beatings and overall treatment they and their siblings received at the hands of their adoptive parents, and Mr. and Mrs. Moss will have to live with the consequences of their actions for the next 10 years in prison.

“We would like to thank the Ashtabula County Children Services Board and Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Department for their hard work on this case,” he continued. “More importantly, we wish the victims many blessings as they move forward with their lives.”

The Mosses’ younger daughter expressed her eagerness to do just that. “Thank God it’s over,” she said.

The Obama administration's directive on the use of school bathrooms by transgender students has provoked a torrent of criticism.
"America has woken up to yet another example of President Barack Obama doing through executive fiat what he cannot get done through our democratic process".
In Fannin County, Georgia, hundreds of parents attended a school board meeting Thursday night to voice concerns about bathroom policy, CNN affiliate WSB-TV reported. Some threatened to remove their children from school.
"They will never set foot in a Fannin County school again," one mother said, according to the station. "I will stay home every day and homeschool as long as it takes. But that is my belief, and that is my motherly right, and that is where I stand."
Fannin County Schools Superintendent Mark Henson told the station that losing about $3 million in federal funds was not an option.

>Police body camera videos and dash cam recordings in North Carolina are now exempt from state public records laws under a bill signed into law Monday.

>North Carolina joins five other states—Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Oregon, and South Carolina—that exempt police body cam videos under freedom of information laws, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

>Under the new law, people who appear in police body cam and dash cam videos can request the footage from police departments. If denied, they must ask permission from judge, who must find a "compelling public interest" in releasing the footage. Prosecutors would still have access to the footage.

>Transparency advocates and press organizations said the new law will make holding the police accountable in the state harder and runs contrary to the purpose of police body cams in the first place.

>"The whole reason we have these body cam programs is because there was a lack of reliable information about what happens between law enforcement and the public," Adam Marshall, an attorney at the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press who tracks body cam policies across the country, said today in an interview. "If you cut off access to the public, you're undercutting the entire rationale for this new technology. If there's no public access to these videos, they just become another surveillance and investigative tool for police, instead of providing the oversight everyone believed they were being instituted to provide."

That's logical because the people being videotaped have to consent to their person being part of the public record, and to send out the gorillions of release forms for every single person in every single video would bankrupt every police station in the country within a year.

http://www.morningnewsusa.com/larry-gordon-berrien-county-shooting-gunman-identified-photo-facts-2389304.html

The man who snatched a deputy’s gun inside the Berrien County Courthouse and fatally shot two bailiffs and injured two others has been identified as Larry Gordon.

On Monday, shortly after 9 p.m., the sheriff organized a news conference publicly confirming the man’s identity.

According to Wood TV, the sheriff described how the incident took place. He said that a deputy was escorting Gordon from the holding cell to the courtroom.

Right at that moment, the man outmatched the deputy in terms of strength and snatched his gun before firing shots.

Joseph Zangaro and Ronald Kienzle were the two bailiffs who were killed. Berrien County deputy James Atterberry Jr. was shot in the arm, and another woman was wounded.

Gordon was then shot and killed by an officer.

Will this video go viral? There is definitely some bias against black people on our justice system, but it's exaggerated and I'm tired of people acting like white guys get a total pass.
Although it does seem like it's always males of any race getting fucked over. Cops aren't even killing black women.

>You see, Black Lives Matter is proving itself to seek only one end – and that is discord, alienation among Americans, rise in hate, and destruction of community bonds. The relative increase in justice afforded black Americans is of little concern, save as a convenient veneer for their anti-democratic mission.
>Black Lives Matter has no more to do with black issues than Students for a Democratic Society had to do with Democracy. They are means to an end, and they use the black population as sacrifices for their goals.
>The violence and hate-filled messages pouring out of Black Lives Matter seek exactly this kind of bloody resolution, or revolution, though they cannot admit it in polite society. Even as celebrities clamor over themselves to demonstrate their fealty to the hate group, they align themselves with one of the most destructive groups to the well-being and justice for black Americans that exist today.

>We are as afraid to point out the obvious, that the sniper attack by Micah Johnson in Dallas, who according to Dallas Police Chief David Brown was “upset about Black Lives Matter,” is just as tied to this domestic hate group as the Orlando terrorist was to radical Islam.

>The Southern Poverty Law Center, a far-left organization that congratulates itself for its profligate naming of Christian groups and other conservative organizations to its ‘Hate List’ will prove itself absolutely irrelevant and morally bankrupt if it fails to now name Black Lives Matter and its equally anti-black cohort Black Youth Project to its hate list. I call on them to do so immediately or tear up the list and admit it is the farce that we have known all along.

>A federal judge who has been a target of Donald Trump's unending scorn must decide whether to release videos of the presumed Republican presidential nominee testifying in a lawsuit about the now-defunct Trump University — images that Trump's attorneys worry will be used to tarnish the campaign.

>U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel faces Trump's attorneys Wednesday for the first time since he permitted the release of unrelated documents in a class-action lawsuit alleging fraud, a move that led Trump to intensify his unusual attacks on the judge that included mention of his Mexican heritage.

>The lawsuits allege that Trump University, which wasn't accredited as a school, gave seminars and classes across the country that were like infomericals, constantly pressuring students to spend up to $35,000 for mentorships and, in the end, failing on its promise to teach success in real estate.

> News organizations want full transcripts and video of Trump testifying at an all-day deposition Dec. 10 at his New York office and for three hours on Jan. 21 in a Las Vegas law office. Nearly all transcripts have been released and Trump's attorneys said last month that they won't oppose unsealing the remaining pieces.

>The big battle is over video, which Trump's attorneys don't want to see sliced and diced in campaign attack ads.
...
118 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>"The near certainty that the video depositions would be used for political purposes — having nothing to do with the merits of this litigation — only underscores the court's duty to prevent misuse of these judicial proceedings," Trump's attorneys wrote.

>They argue that Curiel should follow another judge in a lawsuit involving Hillary Clinton's email practices. U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan in the District of Columbia has allowed the release of deposition transcripts but no video. He sided with lawyers for Clinton aide Cheryl Mills, who said "snippets or soundbites of the deposition may be publicized in a way that exploits Ms. Mills' image and voice in an unfair and misleading manner."

>News organizations argue that the public has a right to the complete record, given how Trump has touted his business acumen and questions that the lawsuits have raised.

>Lawyers representing Trump University's former customers say the videos present "a more complete picture" than the transcripts.

>Trump's tone, facial expressions, gestures and body language show "complete and utter unfamiliarity" with Trump University's instructors and instruction, despite the business mogul's previous statements that he was extensively involved, the attorneys wrote. They said Trump also made "many spontaneous and ad hominem remarks that are not reflected in the paper transcript of his depositions."
>>
>In portions of Trump's testimony that have been released, he acknowledged that he plays on people's fantasies. He is also pressed on blog posts in 2008 that Bill Clinton was a great president and Hillary Clinton would make a great president or vice president. Of his praise for Hillary Clinton, he said, "I didn't give it a lot of thought, because I was in business."

>An adverse ruling for Trump may test his pledge in early June to avoid talking about the case and the judge.

>Trump called Curiel "a very hostile judge" and a "hater of Donald Trump" in an 11-minute attack at a San Diego rally on May 27. Later he said the Indiana-born judge's Mexican heritage and membership in a Latino lawyers association posed a conflict with Trump's positions on illegal immigration and promise to build a wall on the Mexican border.
