Does /m/ hate Code Geass like they do Gundams Seed and IBO, Macross

I liked it awhile back
I got into art recently so now it's kinda hard to watch without being autistic about proportions

The mechs are sweet

I'm hype for the return of Lelouch. Been a big fan of this series because of the politics and strategy, but one of the most interesting aspects for me is that the Gawain and the Shinkiro have keyboard controls. Has any other show tried that?

I can't think of any off the top of my head but Macross 7 had Basara flying his VF-19 with a fucking guitar so I'm sure there's other shows with keyboard controlled mecha.

I just recently watched Code Geass S1, S2 and Akito and the strategies and politics seems really babby tier.

You should watch LOGH. Now that shit has some real politics and strategies.

Eh, I thought Geass was okay. Overrated, especially R2, but not the worst thing we've seen before or since. I did like some of the mecha designs and battles, but a lot of them weren't too interesting. SEED I could never get into. IBO had a weird ending, but I was enjoying it before that point.

I really liked the mech progression of the show.
I think it is highly overrated.
I haven't seen any other show where there was never "the best" pilot or mech, it was changing constantly and you can see the experimental features on the newer mechs be applied to the older models later on.
Every mech was ever evolving it just kept going. this seems very believable to me.

Fuck not even the protagonist or the supporting characters were the best pilots, Gino was and you barely know much about him.

I liked how everything changed and there wasn't any "hurr durr imma super best pilooot" or 'i will win because my mech is always 2000% superior to yours at every episode'

Started off strong but got really stupid for the end of R1 and most for R2. Making every mech fly also really took away from the fights to the point the only battle that I enjoyed in R2 was Suzaku and Kallen's last fight.

I can't bear to watch it because of the horrible, horrible artstyle

I'm a big fan of R1 and the franchise as a whole. I really dig the setting and mechs and the geass powers aren't anymore annoying than newtype bullshit. I think R2 was a train wreck though, albeit a fun one.

Nah, Geass is pretty easy to defend compared to a fair number of shows, especially newer ones but also some older stuff. There's way worse out there. I think people just get overreactive in both directions. (OH IT'S THE BEST, OH IT'S THE WORST).

A while back you could not even post anything Code Geass related here without getting shitposted to death. While we still hated SEED and tolerated Frontier there was still discussion about them we loved TTGL before it became "cool" to hate it and IBO was just bad to the point that the only reason why it even got discussion was because of one autist spamming threads but not Code Geass which can be largely blamed on /a/ spamming it everywhere. Things got a lot better though and we even got a steady stream of threads thanks to the new material being released (Akito, Oz, etc.) but a tripfaggit essentially wanted to make it geass general which fell flat on its face but outside that /m/ is a lot more critical of this show than /a/ for obvious reasons being that its not very good in fact if it was airing today this site would rip it to shreds but it came out when "board culture" was a new thing so people who came to 4chan from 2005 to 2010 remember how fun threads about it were (on /a/) so they have fond memories of it despite the show not being good (/m/ does the exact same shit with 00) but unfortunately some posters didn't catch the memo and actually think the show is so well written masterpiece and all its lapses in writing and plot holes were intentional and feel the need to defend every aspect of it to an annoying degree so /m/'s critical nature in regards to it stark a good balance.
