The teacher defended her decision to read two children's books about transgenderism including one titled "I am Jazz." She says the books were given to her by a transgender child going through a transition.
"The kindergartners came home very confused, about whether or not you can pick your gender, whether or not they really were a boy or a girl," said England.
Parents say besides the books, the transgender student at some point during class also changed clothes and was revealed as her true gender.
And many parents say they feel betrayed and blindsided.
"I want her to hear from me as a parent what her gender identity means to her and our family, not from a book that may be controversial," a parent said.
"My daughter came home crying and shaking so afraid she could turn into a boy," another parent said.

Been on HRT almost 3 years, stealth/fulltime 2 years. Things I've learned:
>Not everyone can pass, but it's a lot easier than most people give credit for. Even if you've got some masculine features in your face or profile or broad shoulders or whatever that the trolls on /passgen/ call you on, most cis people will assume you're just an ugly woman if you present yourself as such. Feminine presentation helps a lot. Boobs help even more unless it's obviously just a bra stuff with socks or tissue.Obviously the more masculine features you have the worse off you'll be, but even a good chunk of mid-age transitioners can get away with having a few.
>Voice is the major exception to the above. It is what outs someone instantly even if they otherwise pass, especially if the person hears your voice before seeing you in person (such as talking to them over the phone). Start voice training now - it's completely free and can be done before anything else
>Passing does not equal attractiveness and attractiveness does not equal passing. Attractiveness carries over. If you're attractive as a guy then you'll be more likely to be fairly attractive as a girl, mostly because you probably have the motivation to make yourself look alright (working out, eating healthy, etc). If you're a fat ugly neckbeard as a guy then you'll be fat and ugly as a girl.
>If you're transitioning because you want to look like a cute anime girl or a hot supermodel or whatever and you would rather detransition than be unattractive, you should probably put down the estrogen. Spoilers, most cis women aren't supermodels either.
>Transition isnt a cureall. Its not going to be what makes you happy or pulls your out of your depression. All it does is allow you to focus on the cause of your problems without having to deal with gender issues. If that's the only thing that you're depressed about, then swell. If not, then don't blame transition when you're a year on HRT and still depressed if you do nothing else to fix it

How the fuck do I come out to my dad's side of the family?
My mom was easy, she's been supportive of transition albeit a little clueless (Still calls me 'handsome', ect.) But my dad's side is all upper-middle class southern folk. I have no idea how my dad would handle it - He took me dating a guy pretty well, but I feel like coming out to him about being trans is kind of on another level.
And then there's uncles and aunts. Cousins. Grandparents. How would I even broach that subject? Just pull OP's situation and show up to thanksgiving dinner looking like a girl?
Should I just go boymode to every family gathering and deal with the comments about how feminine I look? How do explain having pierced ears, and miraculous loss of MPB signs?
