And anyway that's why a lot of transitioners go with the feminine/masculine version of their deadname, I think. It's not an easy thing to do, mentally reassigning your own name. I think you're always going to have some difficulties, but that's just part of the larger trans struggle.

I came out many years ago, so I can comment: it takes longer than a year, that's for sure. I honestly can't tell you when it stops, but it DOES stop. There will be a point at which your birth name is almost unfamiliar to you, like the name of someone you went to school with years ago but you can't quite remember their face. Like that.
It just takes time. Hang in there. In the meantime, invent a story about a relative having that name or something.

hey, so i wanna tell you guys the story of my degeneration.

>moved out of my folks to live on my own in the big city (am from a small town)
>get a shitty salary as an officer
>parents give me extra money to get by
>im beautiful but have body issues (used to be fat when i was 16, lost weight but still have this constant thought that im still obese)
>start going out to clubs
>have so much fun, have sex like 5 times a night in the bathrooms, dance my ass off, go home
>up to this time just smoke weed (a big no-no in the army obviously)
>even though i have fun in clubs im still really lonely and have no actual friends to just hang out with
>start drinking on my own
>stop eating (used to not eat for 4 days, then have a big meal, then not eat for another 4 days)
>lose 12 kg in 2 months
>am borderline anorexic
>stop visiting parents
>parents eventually see me
>i look like a skeleton
>mom breaks down (she has a lot on her plate with my dad and brother and grandma [they considered me theyre only good achievement cuz i was gifted and love reading and really kinda intelligent])
>dad doesnt know what to do
at this point its just club sex, weed daily, alcohol and no food
>they all give me an intervention
>i promise to change
>am willing to change and start eating and working out and living a bit healthier (i smoke cigarettes)
>start trying to make an effort
>become miserable in the army
>start going to heavier clubs (not the usual edm ones, but hardcore techno parties)
>dont tell any of this to parents
>start doing speed
>start doing MDMA
>proceed to cocaine

this was a prolonged process, not all of them came in one time

I'm an educator and this week is the first week of classes for many schools. I have met a bunch of new students, and I am getting to know them. Today, I met a 10 year old who uses they/them pronouns. Many of their classmates don't even know what pronouns are, and other teachers have first called them "he" and did a double take and then called them "she."
My coworker told me the kid uses they/them pronouns but when the student isn't within earshot calls them she and her. I am trying to keep it consistent and respectful by using they/them both when near the student and when away from them.
Anyway, this is the youngest gender neutral person I have ever met. Am I going to run into more of these kids in my career? Is this truly a trend? Do kids who start transitioning(?) this young detransition? Most they/thems I have met are in their 20s. I know a few gender neutral teenagers but this has just blown my mind.

This app is pretty good for getting your pitch up, which is the first step.
I've been going to a trans speech therapist, and this was her advice:
Say mhm! as agreeable as possible in a high pitched voice, then try to stay in that high pitch by counting or listing other things
"Mhm! One two three!"
Or
"Mhm! (Your address and phone number"
Use a voice analyst app to determine what your average pitch is. The speech therapist said you need to hit above 160 hz average. Try to get this down first so you can comfortably talk in that range before working on other aspects of your voice.
