Airbus D&S CEO calls on France to join Germany & Spain to develop a fighter to replace the Typhoon/Rafale instead of making one by their own.
Good idea, yes or no?

>Shooting himself in the foot as most relevant euro countries take delivery of F-35s
>>34243053
I think it's a little early to replace the typhoon/rafale
>>34243053
Yeah, because the last attempt or the A400M went real well, all those countries got carriers now and take an active part regularly in military operations. Oh wait, they don't. Let's not.
Alright look fuckers, I know that Hi-Points are absolute garbage, I swear that I know that, but the pinnacle of firearms design known as the Hi-Point 916 is 99.99$ with free shipping and a hilariously retarded little knife.
I have no intention of carrying it, and am at least 50% buying it because its hilarious. All that aside, is this pos so bad that it isn't even decent as a range toy? Also, between it, and a .22LR rough rider, which would be less autistic for home defense? I would like to say the nine, but if its gonna break after one-shot, obviously not the best choice. Any commentary is appreciated, even if its just to call me a retard.
>>34242970
Hi Points actually are pretty fucking reliable, and their customer service is damn good. Downside to all this being that they only accept single stacks and they look like shot but hey for 100 bucks they are not bad at all.
>>34242970
Hi-Points have pros and cons, generally they're better than nothing and seem to mostly run fine if the magazines you got are in spec.
Pros
>effectively unbreakable, they're rated for +P and can handle some pretty asinine abuse without biting it
>shoots pretty straight, if you can get used to it's recoil it can be pretty accurate
>is generally safe and functional
>very generous warranty that will fix or replace anything for free, even if you bought it used or bandsawed it for fun
Cons
>terrible ergos
>terrible trigger
>top heavy
>ugly
>magazines sometimes aren't properly in spec out of the box, either you send it back to Hi-Point for a free replacement, or you can carefully tweak the feed lips with a pair of pliers (seems to work for a lot of people)
>low capacity for weight and size (they do make a 20rd carbine magazine in 9mm now, but it'll look awkward sticking out of your grip).
If you're a poorfag and need "just a gun", they are pretty appealing.
Beats the fuck out of the standard fare "Ring Of Fire" deathtrap in mouse calibers.
They make some carbines too which are actually a little bit nice.

Hi-Points in general are pretty good.
BUT
The 916 is a piece of utter dogshit in almost every aspect of it's existence. You say that you plan on getting at least one shot off and praying, but honestly your chances of getting even one solid shot off are sketchy. The Rough Rider seems like a better option, if for no reason other than that it at least functions decently and looks fairly intimidating. Weighing your options, I'd recommend 2 Rough Riders (one backup because it only holds six rounds and reloads one at a time), a Makarov, or that shitty revolver that some anon dredged out of a creekbed because holy fuck is the 916 worthless.
What is the AR15 of bolt action? Remington 700? Howa 1500?

So me and a buddy of mine are curious about potentially exploring an obsolete sewer/rain complex underneath our hometown. What should we take for protection? Possibly just knives and blunt objects in the possibility of high ppm of gases? I have a gas monitor from work that can detect that stuff. Also, any Kansas urban/outdoor exploration stories?
This area in particular.

Would it be ok if I wiped off my ammo individually with ballistol? Only reason being is I have 2 spare mags for my handgun in a gun case with foam bc I don't really have anywhere else to put them, I just didn't want the ammo to rust up or anything
What are you doing to cause them to rust? Unless you are drinking them in mud or some shit everyday; there is no need to clean them.
It won't hurt it, but it won't hurt it to leave them alone either. I mean the soviets jizzed over everything with cosmoline but thats because they figured the stuff would be in storage for decades
>>34242598
Padded / foam cases can trap condensation from the air, even if looks dry when you put it away
Only an issue for long term or if you live somewhere really humid though
> US Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus advised Congress that he intended to name the Military Sealift Command's John Lewis-class oilers after prominent civil rights leaders, with the second to be named for gay rights activist Harvey Milk.
> Milk served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the submarine rescue ship USS Kittiwake and held the rank of Lieutenant at the time of his honorable discharge.
> The ship was officially named at a ceremony in San Francisco on August 16, 2016. It is the first U.S. Navy ship named for an openly gay leader.

better than the uss gabby giffords. truly, a fitting name for the gayvy.
It's like they're not even trying anymore.

That's fucking hilarious
Any of yu fags know anybody that was in? Any experience working with these dudes? Also are they even useful?Do they do any ground action or just extraction?
>>34242291
I guy that owns the only good survival store around me was one. Never asked about the job, just talked about the different handguns the Navy has used. When asked about the Mk23 he said he loved it, haters fuck off. I want to get a gunner's mate contract and possibly try to become one down the road.

What would you do if you see this gangly fellow in your area?
Do you run?
Do you hide?
Do you go innawoods?
What would /k/ do

>>34242301
But how
Is there a practical use for automatic fire?
You could easily hit someone with a single bullet if you were accurate enough, so a machine gun just seems like a complete waste of precious bullets in the battlefield.
Supressive fire while moving to flank
>>34242251
suppression, it hugely increases the enemy's chance of taking a stray bullet to the face if he dares to peek out behind cover, thus keeping him there
>>34242251
What branch/mos is that guy?
Should I buy it?

>>34241936
Where can I find this deal?
The vast majority of people who carry handguns for "protection" will never shoot for blood. Their guns only serve to give them peace of mind. Therefore, the question of which cartridge is deadliest is a moot point.
>>34241476
It's not, since choice of cartridge contributes greatly to that peace of mind. But overall I can agree.
>>34241476
thanks for the advice, i'm going to start carrying a G42
>>34241611
>>34241628
When I realized how unlikely I was to ever need a handgun, I sold my carry piece. I still keep a 22 rifle for sport shooting and a 270 for hunting, but I just don't need a handgun.
Haven't seen one in a while.
>>34241452
Best primary and secondary coming through.

Which state has better overall gun rights
Ohio or Indiana
As far as I know Indiana has a better castle doctrine
Definitely not Ohio. We're trying but we ain't there yet.
Arizona, Alaska, Wyoming, etc probably the best
A few western states such as Arizona; Alaska comes to mind.
Almost all of the states with better gun laws have a higher cost of living though, so it tends to even out.
Don'y Michicucks fool you, they have to register their handguns.
>>34241427
Biggest problem with Ohio is duty to retreat unless at home or in your car
Russia's industry sucks, but China's is huge. They're both allies, so why doesn't Russia just contract and contribute to R&D on the J-20/J-31 instead of blowing money on researching and producing an entirely different aircraft? Russia's production is slow as fuck and development is constantly hung up, it just seems like a more efficient way to outfit their military and free up some industry that could be directed towards other more important things. They even both have the same client states for hardware, if there was a Chinese built joint project they could've shoveled out enough to outfit Russia, China, Iran, and possibly other countries skeptical of the F-22/35 project and make them competitive.
>He tragically fell for wretched meme that Russia and China are in any way, shape or form allies
>He fails to understand how much of a blow to vatnik pride it would be to do such a thing
>>34241368
China and Russia are just as much of competitors with each other as they are with the US. probably more since they actually share borders.
>>34241368
Russia and China has not been good allies since the sino soviet split
