Alright /k/, every manufacturer makes nearly every firearm configuration (striker/hammer pistols polymyer/metal ect... along with ARs and other non proprietary guns).

>Pick a few particular guns or particular styles that each company should be known for.
Doing one someone else has done is ok. Remember not to get focused on only consumer available weapons (FN's m249/m240 for example are great designs but not considered cabelas available weapons).

I'll start

Beretta
>luxury shotguns for waterfowl hunting
>92 series

In my opinion Beretta is known for making pretty guns, on old designs. They only just recently made a striker pistol and its pretty unremarkable. Even their popular polymer pistol before that was a classic S/DA hammer fired. They don't even make ARs because they arn't non proprietary non pretty guns.

Heckler & Koch

>mp5
>USP

HK seams to be the go too manufacturer for sub machine guns and high end pistols that would be appropriate for special forces and paramilitary organizations. From what I see they only just recently started getting government contracts for plain service weapons, mostly it seams they contract out production to smaller organizations that need more specialized weapons.

FN Herstal

>FN Scar
>FN 5.7
>makes M16s and machine guns for US military
>Muh FN hammer forged AR barrel

Seams like FN makes great ARs that arn't overpriced. Their pistols are all completely unremarkable, they seam to stick to service rifles and machine guns. Focusing on military sales means you sort of get military grade manufacturing standards on your AR. They've also invented and designed a lot of weapons from the ground up. 5.7, f2000 ect.

if you pull the trigger then push the gun forward at the same time it adds velocity to the bullet making it more damaging. strength and dex would help this out. quickly flicking your wrist while you shoot can add spin to the bullet in case you need to put english on your bullets

Is there a reasonably wide shared consensus on round count for replacing a pistol's recoil spring?

I made the mistake of googling it, and found answers ranging from 10000 to 5000 to fucking 500. Other people wait until they begin to see FtFs, but considering the spring is the only thing preventing a bunch of metal parts from smashing together, I'd prefer a general round count.

Also, other than lubrication and recoil springs, any other periodic maintenance you feel more people should do?

>>
>>34243572
Your rounds should be ejecting in the same direction at a consistent distance away every time if your shooting stance and how you hold the gun is consistent. As your springs wear they will eject further and if you notice that, thats when you change your springs.
>>
>>34243726
Is that an all or nothing thing? Wouldn't the spent casings eject further and further as the spring gradually wears over time?
>>
>>34243767
Yes thats what i said. As the springs wear they will become weaker, your slude will move faster making your riubds eject farther. A new recoil spring with a new hammer spring or striker spring should work together in to slow slide movement enough the eject round at about 5-8 feet away in a handgun. Anything more means your springs are weak and is enough to get new springs since your slide is moving too fast and will be battering the frame. Anything less and your gun may not cycle properly because the springs are too strong.

AR or AK? Faggot shit. Real men will go with the Sturmgewehr. You can get it in 5.56 or 7.62, .300 blackout and even the original kurz ammunition. It has just the right amount of wood to metal ratio, not too much wood so you dont look like a slav fag, and not too little so people can tell yous till like to have a little fun. Its mags are cross compatible with AR mags, so you can use your fancy MAGPUL mags in em', and it has a rail attachment for red dots, scopes, etc. And you can get one with the fun switch on it if you contact HMG, And finally, just imagine your sitting on your porch and some big nosed, nasally man comes and tries to take your guns/shekels. You can pop on that stahlhelm and fill that dirty thing with lead. If your gonna pick up an assault rifle, might aswell pickup the original design. neet.

Why the hell would I want a gun that is nothing like the original at all? It doesnt use the same action, it doesnt have the same proportions, and the stampings on it dont even come close to replicating the original.
All it has going for it, is the fact that it looks vaguely like an StG from 30ft away.
If the HMG people cared about that project at all they could and should have done so much better.

most the parts are interchangeable with the original STG-44, however obviously because of the limitation of full auto, and them making it available in different cartridges, the receiver is much different. And because of this, their CEO even said, "this is not an STG-44, its an HMG STG". If you get it kurz chambered, full auto, and a darker wood for its furniture, there would be minute differences.
>>
>>34243508
He stated it was the "HMG StG" only after receiving a shit ton of flak over how stupid it looks.
Face it, they promised a new StG clone that looked historically accurate and after they got enough pre orders said "fuck it" and thru this piece of shit out.

Does /K/ have any stories of what their experience in boot camp was like, and how it affected anyone else around them for good or bad?

tell me /k/, how hard is it to get into a PMC without any prior military experience ?

Just lie like the rest of them do.

To be honest, the market is so saturated with ex-mil looking for work in PMCs you'd be unlikely to get in. You might be more switched on than many ex mil but these companies are fairly poorly run and cut costs at every corner. A big cost cut is training, hence why they go for people who already have basic and maybe advanced skillets trained to military standards.

I've got a few mates in a firm in Iraq after they left (Britfag army) and you're not missing much. Also, the money has fallen through the floor after the peaks in 2009 when guys were getting paid £400 a day to man a radio for a PMC.

Hard. Why would a PMC hire you over literally thousands of applicants with military and combat experience? The US and other forces have been at war for literally over a decade. There are dudes applying with 5-10 years of combat experience, and all kinds of high dollar military training. Saying "I'm in shape and motivated!" isn't much competition against a guy with 6 deployments and a Ranger Tab.

The only modern time people without experience were getting hired in decent amounts was at the veeeeerrrrry beginning of the Iraq war, when merely having LEO or some other experience made you stand out.

http://www.news.com.au/technology/china-declares-success-of-hypervelocity-missile-program/news-story/f85c269edd0eb804ac6509486633cb4c

>BEIJING says it has perfected a new engine technology which will propel its weapons further and at incredibly fast speeds.

>The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) has announced the successful development of a hypersonic ramjet engine after a series of eight test flights.

>A report in the Global Times outlet of the state-owned People’s Daily states the revolutionary engine is now ready to be mated to a new generation of air-to-air missiles.

>To qualify as ‘hypersonic’, the engine would have to move at more than 6200km/h.

>Such hypervelocity engines, when mated to existing missiles, could potentially triple their range. Existing 100km weapons could have their range extended to 320km.

>This picture from China’s state-run social media site Weibo last year is believed to show a J-16 fighter carrying a prototype hypervelocity missile.

Chinese hypersonic super long range AAM soon. And probably more compact than the existing PL-X long range ballistic anti air missile that can only be externally carried.
