What is an "assault pistol?"
>>34257300
It's any regular "pistol"
>>34257300
According to smartgunlaws.org (whaddya want? you can't exactly go to sane places for this kind of info) these are criteria that define a pistol as an assault weapon in the state of California
>>34257300
It's essentially a "scary" pistol. So an ar pistol, or an ak pistol.
Could have had a 30 round mag, or anything considered an evil feature that can obliterate humans who look at it.
inb4 new anti gun laws coming right up
just fuck me up senpai.
Hey /k/, /felon/ here.
I miss guns. No longer on parole so I'm not being held under a magnifying glass anymore.
Do you think a modern inline muzzleloader is a viable option for operating or homedefense? At this point it's all I got. I'm thinking about a CVA wolf
>>34256788
What felony? And no, melee or archery is your best bet.
>>34256788
a black powder revolver with quick release cylinders would be the only way to operate with black powder
>>34256788
The fact that felons can't own guns or vote is bullshit. Especially if you're off parole. If you've already served your time, you shouldn't be treated like a second class citizen. How long until you can legally own guns, OP? Is it a process or a length of time for you to be able to own then again?
I've just turned 21 and I currently have $1000 of birthday money
I was gonna spend it on a gun or a few guns if possible.
Hear is what I'm looking for:
>home defense/arsenal
>something I can practice with
>something that will be useful for the race war
>potentially more than one gun
>>34256706
A nice crossbow or a benjamin airbow?
nugget
M&P 15 and one of the most popular striker-fired handguns.
>Soviet engineers assumed the MiG-21 was more advanced but the F-5 won every time
What did they mean by this?
>>34256557
They were right. But remember, you don't take an F-5 up against a MiG-21, you take an F-5 and SAMs and AWACS and GCIs and SEAD, and put it up against a MiG-21 and SAMs and AWACS and GCIs and SEAD.
It's fun to argue over the pros and cons of hardware, but as long as no side has a massive advantage, it's of little consequence to a platform's real-world performance.
>>34257204
>But remember, you don't take an F-5 up against a MiG-21, you take an F-5 and SAMs and AWACS and GCIs and SEAD, and put it up against a MiG-21 and SAMs and AWACS and GCIs and SEAD.
Depends really. The Ogaden War saw probably the closest thing to a "pure" engagement between the F-5 and MiG-21 we'd ever see.
Problem was, you had the Somalians flying against literally the best trained pilots in all of Africa.
>>34256557
>AWACs
>GCI
Stop.
What are the main weapons your country's (military) police uses?
Here it's the MP5 and the H&K 416
The H&K
What's the best gun to shoot an elephant?
22LR. Aim for the trunk, where it will bounce around and scramble the insides, causing rapid death via massive blood loss.
No, no, no. 5.56 is the way to go. It'll just injure the elephant, causing all the other nearby elephants to stop what they're doing and assist, thereby giving you a tactical advantage.
>>34256223
I see. And when's the best time to find them playing baseball?
I just bought my .308win rifle. It is set to arrive Friday or Saturday. I have a little experience with guns but I know nothing about precision shooting, which is what I will be using the rifle for. Please teach me.
Note: I don't quite know what yardage I'll be shooting at so I'd need to know the optimal range of .308 and what scopes/reticles go best for each range. I'm also looking to find the best glass for the least amount of money. What sort of cost am I looking at?
Pic is the rifle I just bought but in lefty
I know is my instructor uses MIL-dot, and I think the SVD type reticle looks pretty cool. I don't know what type of scope he uses but I know it's like two grand. I don't have a concrete budget but as a rule of thumb I'd like to not spend more than the rifle ($700)

Get started, it'll take a while.
>>34256206
Thanks. I'll watch it all later but I need to at least have an idea to my guy by Friday. Is there a way of putting it super simple? No I'm not asking for spoon-feeding and trying to skirt around doing research, just pressed on time. Thx though, I saved the playlist.
So, lets talk about /k/ itself. What needs to be added? What needs to be gone? What to change and what to leave as it is?
Hopefully the mods (or even Hiro for that matter) will start lurking this thread.

My local gander mountain has this for 25% off brand new. Is it worth it? Anyone here have one want to comment?
it will be $304 before taxes
>>34255983
Pants on head retarded.
You can buy a better more practical pump for a lot less.
>>34256004
>>34256004
im looking for a over under for sports clay's. Not really looking for a pump. thanks for input though :)
>>34255983
For home defense you can get a pump action cheaper.
For sport you can get a nice full length O/U for cheaper.
So I've been thinking, why don't companies like Colt or whoever make M16A1 replicas?
They would make a nice little bundle out of people who don't know how to build their own gun, people who just like the aesthetic but don't care about having %100 accurate posts, or people who just don't want to build their own retro build.
I see literally no reason why nobody is doing that right now.
>>34255947
Not enough demand to justify setting up production runs.
>>34255947
>why don't companies like Colt or whoever make M16A1 replicas
Colt is and the price is or was $2500. Except Colt contracted someone else to build them.
https://gundigest.com/more/classic-guns/first-look-colt-m16a1-reissue
>>34255947
They do but they're overpriced. I think both Colt and Ares do.
Ok, bare with me /k/
in the future we are going to be breeding and training teenage brown girls are war machines
For the following reasons
>full grown women need 1200 calories a day, let alone the young ones, that's far less than the male 2000, Which means better survivability on the field and less MRE hogging
>Brown, means melanin in the skin, which means more tolerance for long exposure to sun
>Small, makes a smaller target, duh
>intensive fitness training from birth could negate the negatives of being a female
>CRISPR genome editing could allow for higher reaction speed and easier muscle building
Discuss.
Yes.
>>34255830
So your only flaw is the calorie argument - they'll still need shit loads of calories to function in a battlefield/arduous conditions.
Otherwise the others can all be applied to males. Just recruit manlets.
>>34255830
You realize the average soldier uses way more than 2k calories a day right? By comparison doing the same tasks, women will consume about the same calories

yes, the anon who started this is now coming to the US and joining the military to fund this endeavour, many members are also saving several thousands to speed up the efforts.
Okay so basically this is kinda like a Maverick Missile except it doesn't get launched, it just takes off. Grooovy.
> now we be launching suicide drones, to counter suicide bombers
http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/05/21/bombs-needs-bombs-new-kamikaze-suicide-uav-combines-eye-sky-hellfire/
We already have suicide drones.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomahawk_(missile)#Upgrades
>Tomahawk Block IV[10][11][12] introduced in 2006 adds the strike controller which can change the missile in flight to one of 15 preprogrammed alternate targets or redirect it to a new target. This targeting flexibility includes the capability to loiter over the battlefield awaiting a more critical target. The missile can also transmit battle damage indication imagery and missile health and status messages via the two-way satellite data link.
>>34255314
I dont know why we dont have something similar to this yet. Just have a marine fly it into a white truck.
ISIS has been doing this with DJI Phantoms for a while now.
