Russia's industry sucks, but China's is huge. They're both allies, so why doesn't Russia just contract and contribute to R&D on the J-20/J-31 instead of blowing money on researching and producing an entirely different aircraft? Russia's production is slow as fuck and development is constantly hung up, it just seems like a more efficient way to outfit their military and free up some industry that could be directed towards other more important things. They even both have the same client states for hardware, if there was a Chinese built joint project they could've shoveled out enough to outfit Russia, China, Iran, and possibly other countries skeptical of the F-22/35 project and make them competitive.

China and Russia are just as much of competitors with each other as they are with the US. probably more since they actually share borders.
>>
>>34241368
Russia and China has not been good allies since the sino soviet split
>>
>>34241368
Soviet Union had more border incidents with China than all other bordering nations.
Russia still maintains strong border (as much as it can afford) with China to protect Siberian region resources.
>>
>>34241368
>Russia's industry sucks, but China's is huge. They're both allies

No.

Again, no.

Strategic partner =/= ally, especially not in the Sino-Russian case
>>
>>34241368

china and russia are probably worst allies imaginable, they are strategic partner, why? because its useful, but one of them just blinks for a second and other will stab it in a back

>Russia's production is slow as fuck and development is constantly hung up

yeah cos russia got no moneys

>Russia just contract and contribute to R&D on the J-20/J-31 instead of blowing money on researching and producing an entirely different aircraft?

why would you ever, ever do this? its like both nations sit and decide, hmm what is the best way to cripple each other?

>They even both have the same client states for hardware

but they don't, chinesse are pushing ruskies out from everywhere but their closes partners

> other countries skeptical

no other nations are skeptical about f-35, its you only one nation that sort of dropped f-35 was due political reasons

besides if someone is in position to buy f-35 and decides not to will not go for chinese or russia, they will got for one of many many modern western fighters

>F-22/35 project and make them competitive.

against what ? only gripen and super bug can compete with f-35 in price range, performance wise nothing can

basically you are clueless
>>
>>34241368
They're not allies, they just dislike the US a little more than each other. At the moment.
>>
>>34241368

>Russia
>allies
>With China

Russia probably loathes China more than the US and would only defend it if it meant one-upping the latter. They would just as likely side with the US to turn China into Russian clay if China was the instigator.
>>
>>34241368

The USA didn't let even their closest allies have access to the F-22, and to most allies the F-35 is basically a black box they have to trust the USA on. Why would China share its J-20 with a country that is at most a short term ally of convenience on political matters? There is every chance that at some point the two countries might become hostile to each other. Russia and India are much friendlier countries, there is no risk of conduct between the two, and India is so in need of defense know-how that they will respect Russia even in its economically distressed state.
>>
>>34243034
>and to most allies the F-35 is basically a black box they have to trust the USA on.
i'm pretty sure we're getting the entire standard target recognition database (short of the american nuclear subs, B-2s, etc) and the ability to create our own add-ons to the F-35.

>>34241368

Not true at all.

It's just a metric fuckton of code, but it's all clear to read. Mostly Ada and C/C+.

russian is better because it's 5 gen unlike j20.

But only thing T-50 have going for is its airframe. Meanwhile, they still use same engines like in Su-27 family and god knows what outdated electronic tech inside it. And they still in deep testing phase, while China already fields a decent number of 5th gen fighters and have an economy to support it.

Sadly, real life is not Ace Combat and all HYPER manoeuvrability won't help against rockets that would be launched beyond the visual range.

At least it can dance in airshows like typical Russian prostitute, who wiggles her butt but have nothing going for her in life.

I agree, both Chink and Slavshit do not even deserve to be called 5th gen. Maybe 4++++++++ gen.

China's metallurgy Nd material science is about 10-15 years behind the very latest the west and Russia have. If you look at Chinese industrial spying efforts, they're extremely concentrated in metallurgy and material science. Not just the materials them selves but the production methods and processes, which are usually the hardest parts to reverse engineer.

So while China's outright manufacturing capacity is no.1 in the word (Germany only being surpassed in 2010 which is amazing that you have a population of 80mm competing on a production level with 1.2b), their ability to manufacture specific components from specific materials is actually quite small and or way behind.

https://www.theengineer.co.uk/issues/june-2015-online/jewel-in-the-crown-rolls-royces-single-crystal-turbine-blade-casting-foundry/

I doubt china has the manufacturing method to grow a single alloy allotrope into a part like that.

Rage harder chink. The best part of STOVL, is it makes it basically impossible for China to shut down US airpower. America can fly a combat laden 5th gen strike fighter from less than 600 ft of flat ground or ship deck.
>>
>>34241368
They have plans to become the next overlord of Europe and any close dealings with the chinese in matters of defense hurts their future credibility. Also:
>implying anything made by chinks won't be complete shit

>>34246137
>conspiracy theory

Get back to me when the chinks can manufacture a jet engine that will last more than 3000 hours without a full rebuild, they can't even get manufacturing processes correct for turbofan blades.

Electronic components of PAK-FA were presented some time ago, but you didn't bother to google it.

2nd stage engine had first launch two weeks ago. Izd. 117 is already a decent engine. Russians are building industry for all that shit. China has no such problem, their industry was build by others and for money of others.
