/k/ how do I get into weapons development?
I know its a pipe dream, but I want to essentially make weapons similar to the Iron Man suit. Realistically, I'd like to learn mechanical engineering, coding, related to develop weapons systems independently or with a small team. I know no one can do the job alone but I'd like to be somewhat independent or come up with original ideas.
Do I begin in the library? Or perhaps at a University? I'm 19 years old, not many resources, coding apps in Java to make ends meet, but working on a project right now that should generate steady revenue (meaning I can afford an apartment, food, etc).

I tried using this lansky knife sharpener, and the results were less than fantastic. The pull through ceramic v actually left my leek duller than it was previously.
I tried 40 passes on each side at about 30 degrees on the straight ceramic section, and that worked alright, but it's still nowhere near as sharp as it was out of the box. Any suggestions, /k/?

I tend to use a combination of synthetic (India) stones for course work, and natural Arkansas stones for finer work.
I know the synthetic stones are faster... but the natural stones have sentimental value, since they're how my grandpa taught me to sharpen knives.
Some of the other systems have worked well for folks... I can't seem to get my head around trusting anything other than a flattened rock, personally. Does take some practice, though.

It's not like there's going to be some sort of massive wave of females getting in. It's a fad. The feminists will celebrate the victory over the patriarchy and the women will go back to jobs that avoid physical work, like they always do. The few exceptions you would get can hopefully be smoked out once the media looks somewhere else.

Depends what you class as a battleship, nothing post-dreadnought has, but it happened a couple of times in the 1500/1600s.
The English Mary Rose and the Swedish Vasa are the two that immediately come to mind.
Both sank after firing a broadside while in a turn. Gunports were open on the listing side.
This kills the ship.

Carry a handgun, idiot. That way you don't have to waddle to your car to get it. Plus it's always accessible while you're in the car.
There's no realistic real world self-defense situation where a rifle stored in your trunk would be useful.

Whatsup fellas,
Looking to buy a first handgun. Anything .45 with no beefy grips (i have small hands, so pretty much opposite of an M9) what does /k/ recommend? I really don't need a lower rail or anything like that but a threaded barrel would be nice and maybe if i can throw on a red dot instead of the low profile sights.
In return, i'll bump some OC .50 cal shots

Glock and several other -FN, H&K, make pistols with Modular Backstrap systems. Buy one in .45, and use the smallest grip. Works for me.
