Are snipers (not designated marksmen) still relevant now that we have drones?
>>28272118
Yeah, for situations where you'd want no/little collateral damage
>implying we care about collateral damage anyway
yes, very
they more often than not double as ground reconnaissance assets. Ground recon and intel are still vital components of the commander's link with the battlespace, blah blah

Alrighty, /Weapons/.
What do you keep in your car?
Which of these two guns is better suited for use as a car rifle?
I'm looking for something to possibly keep in the trunk of a Corolla. I narrowed it down to these two because they fit my basic constraints for a rifle intended to be kept in the back of an econobox sedan.
-Iron sights
-Bolt action
-Full size cartridge with capable of firing modern FMJ and Soft Point rounds
-Can be fed from stripper clips
-Not expensive, can easily be repaired if broken or replaced if stolen or broken beyond my abilities to fix
Really, the main thing I would have a rifle in the trunk for is to dispatch animals if needed. I would get something like a Ruger Gunsite Scout, but it's pretty expensive for something I plan on putting in the trunk and occasionally plinking with.
Mauser in .308 imo. Some converted rifles are pretty baller and cheap

Moist nugget senpai, ammo is cheep accurate and will fuck up any car/ person causing a threat
I conceal carry a S&W 442 so that's with me. Nothing specific for my car. Me personally was thinking of a pistol grip shotgun or a folding stock AK.
I thought you guys would get a kick out of this

Unarmed police - yay or nay?
Do you think your local police could be partly or wholly disarmed?
>>28271325
I think civilian law enforcement should adhere to the same laws that bind every other civilian, other than that there's little point in disarming them further.
>>28271345
Have an upvote. I agree with that.

I'm curious as to what /k/ is like religiously, seems like there's a good number of Christians here so it made me a bit curious.

kek, keep up the good work though, i am thoroughly entertained.
Is Sikhism the most /k/ religion out there? One of its laws is you have to carry a weapon at all times and be ready to defend yourself or others if the need should arise (technically a kirpan but many Sikhs say that guns should also be considered under their religion since a knife is inadequate for defense in this day and age).

But, yeah. Sikhism is second place

Is the 1911 still relevant today? What's your opinion, /k/?
Is it worth it to buy a 1911? Would you trust one for carry or home defense? All opinions welcome.
All you need for home defense is a 6mm carbine

Almost every gun uses the browning system. It'll always have context. But yes
A single stack compact 45 ACP has a use.

First time I held a Glock, I was shocked, went all; "..It's a toy" "LOL plastic" etc. Eventually, I bought one. Well yesterday, I handled a Remington ACR at my local shop. And goddamn. The amount of plastic it's made of bugs me to no end. If the guy told me it was a Chinese airgun, I'd have believed it. Sloppy, wiggling parts. Mold lines. The color, quality, and texture of the fancy high density polymer reminds me of the interior of an early 90's import. To me, it says ZERO craftsmanship put into it. I know, it's designed to be a combat weapon. But the amount of play in the components was mind boggling. John M Browning would b disappoint
>>28270653
Browning was actually a proponent for loose tolerances, was he not?
>>28270653
Nothing wrong with loose tolerances friend.
sTILL, waY too much plastic
