>5 more days before I can pick up my gun
How do you cope with the wait?
>>28261728
Not living in a shitty waiting period state
>>28261728
By living in a free state.
>>28261757
Florida is a free state, and we have a 3-day wait on handguns.
why the fuck is it so hard to buy this gun, its always out of stock... should I just settle with the TP9SA?
>>28261531
its a meme gun
>>28261539
whats a good alternative? and why is this a meme gun?
>>28261531
Because they are made in batches and are complete shit.
So /k/ I've been thinking about putting together a "car kit" and could use some advice. Bear in mind this isn't an urban survival setup. I'm not prepping for an unlikely scenario where i'm going to war with gangsters in the hood like the punisher. More like an "oh shit my car broke down in the middle of nowhere and I may be stuck here for a couple days and there have been black bear and mountain lion sightings close to here recently" kind of situation.
(1) What would be the better combo? long gun in 22 and handgun of higher caliber or 22 handgun and higher caliber long gun? Or should both weapons be of same caliber?
(2) Must be relatively inexpensive and rugged as it will be packed into the trunk of a vehicle for emergency purposes. It'll likely sit in the trunk of a vehicle for most of a lifetime with little cleaning or usage. I was thinking maybe a break action long gun and revolver? Opinions?
(3) If higher caliber long gun is the better choice would a rifle or a shotgun be better? or a combo gun maybe?
>>28261522
Mosin
Makarov
Not that hard. Still cheap, still effective.
>>28261529
/thread
>>28261522
I'd say some sort of lever action in .45-70 and whatever is a cheaper non-taurus made .357 revolver you can find.
ok, so i'm looking at a mosin at a local gun shop. i haven't seen one this nice before. they want 200 bucks. only numbers that match are the bolt and the reciever, which as far as i'm concerned, are the only parts that need to match. what other things should i look for in a mosin? it's an izhevsk with occasional tula parts. good condition. should i buy or no?
>purpose built for defense against wendigo.
I like that picture.
Bump.
>>28261790
thanks for the effort anon, but because i forgot to add a subject, this thread will be forever lost. i'll try again tomorrow.
>>28261489
I'll take a crack at your question.
I paid $125 for a partially bastardized 91/59 a couple years back and to me, that was a little too much. Nowadays, $200 isn't really too bad but I would want a good specimen. I don't doubt the gun you're looking at is in good condition and working order but I don't know if you're getting the best mosin $200 will buy you. If you've been searching your area with that budget for a few weeks and haven't found anything else, pop on it. If you've got some patience left, scope stores and armslist for something better.
if you shoot a subsonic .22lr with a suppressor? shouldnt make that much noise shooting at steel right?
>>28261478
sub sonic rounds + suppressor.
OP u dumbass it makes the noise louder and the cops will be Called you stupid fuck
>>28261478
ya, you could. but doing that long enough with out ventilation would be a very bad idea.
So what is everyone's dream gun? Mine is a S&W .500 magnum
>>28261456
Kinda gay thing to want.
>>28261466
I just love revolvers, ya know?
Presently, an M30 Luftwaffe drilling, with original everything, or a modern repro with 3 1/2 inch chambers and a rifle barrel in .30-06 or .375 Weatherby Mag.
Hey /k/, not shitposting. this is legit right now and I could use some help.
I've always been the kind of guy who had fun going to gun ranges with friends but never owned one myself. Just was kind of blissfully ignorant of the world around me and didn't think I really needed one for my own protection.
Well now I have a psychopath who is actively hunting down me, my mom, and my two brothers and I don't know what to do. I've got a knife but I know that won't do shit against him because this guy is an ex-cop but was kicked off the force for his erratic behavior.
I could give the full story if you guys want but the basics are that this guy has nothing, my mom felt bad for him so she treated him nice, and he tried to force himself on her and luckily I was there to pull him off but he says he'll be back.
I need a gun to protect my mom and my two brothers but I've never fired a handgun before. Only stuff like shotguns, rifles, etc... what should I buy to deal with this asshole should/when he comes back?
First off, call the police and tell them what's happening.
Second: is this going to be a carry gun? Or a home defense gun? Because they have different requirements.
Get a 9mm OP shoot the sick fuck and post story
>>28261444
call cops
buy 12 gauge shotgun and learn its manual of arms
so let me ask you this /k/
i want to get a suppressor for my 10mm. i like the silencerco osprey 40 but im worried that the increased pressure of the 10mm would be too much for a suppressor made for a .40, does it even matter? do they make suppressors specifically for 10mm? help me out /k/
Literally 10 seconds on Google.

Need you guys' help! I'm looking to get myself m1. I'm going for either inland or plainfield. How many carbine bros are out there? I need to know the reliability (not buying GI). Also how well do the 15 and 30 rounders work on them?
>m1 carbine thread
>>28261315
inland is GI
Do you think it's worth it?
>ammo not as plentiful
>30 cal
Pic related is my 1943 Inland! :)
>mfw people buying from fudsgunshop
>>28261184
Oh, ok.
>>28261184
I don't see what the big deal is, I ordered some magazines through them because they're half the price of buying from the LGS.
What's the problem?
You guys have any stories of dumbasses at ranges, In-laws, kids, or Whiskey Tangos, doing stupid shit with guns?
>Be 21
>take whiskey tango in-law to range
>claimed to shoot all the time
>pull out the Winchester model 94 (family heirloom)
>clear it
>hand him the box of ammo
>"go ahead and shoot it all you want"
>turn around to grab mossberg 500 so I can shoot it
>click
>leaver
>click
>leaver
>click
>"Dude, wtf are you doing?"
he says
>"I think its broken"
>you gotta load it...
>take the 30-30 away from him
>load the mossberg and hand in to him
>load the 30-30 for myself
>he pulls the trigger.
>he didnt cock it.
I eventually tried to teach him how to use them but he just kept screaming at me about how he knew how to do it. I think I emasculated him. After he started screaming like a bitch I packed my shit and left.
>>28260923
Does he have for real aspies?
>>28260923
>whiskey tangos
What the fuck are you talking about
>>28261086
My guess is white trash? I've never heard it used that way before, though.
http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/30790522/gun-permit-applicants-denied-over-medical-dispute
> A former service member tells us he's followed all of HPD's rules, but he's stuck in a policy deadlock because his insurer won't comply.
> "There was no advance warning from anybody. Kaiser, the gun stores, HPD -- nobody. You find out when you actually go to apply," the West O'ahu man said. He asked Hawaii News Now not use his name or image.
> "I've been a legal gun owner since '91. Rifles, shotguns, pistols. I even own an AR-15. No problemo. All of a sudden, problem," he said.
>nobody is trying to take away your guns you stupid rednecks!
>>28260915
Can't you sue them over this?
>>28261075
Courts won't care, shall issue was passed but no department is issuing and no one is charging them.
What's the oldest gun you own? Do you shoot it regularly, or do you worry about damaging it?
>>28259998
107 years old. I shoot it when I have ammo.
>>28259998
20 years, shoot it regularly, don't worry bout damage.
>>28259998
My SVT-40 from 1940, it kind of gave me a fright when the first time I shot it it slamfired.
Brand new barrel from factory, I cleaned the bore like any other new gun. HOLY SHIT it was dirty, like, filthy. The first few dry patches were coming out black. Not dark grey. 100% black as black gets. Got it wet wet with oil, then bore brushed, and dry again, until dry patches came out white. I cringe at the thought of shooting a new gun before cleaning it. Every firearm I've bought new was dirty to some degree but this thing was bad. And it was a different sorting of packing grease lube that I've seen before. Weird stuff.
>>28260821
I imagine it's due to test firing (obviously).
Yeah, every brand new gun I've bought had a dirty barrel.
Don't know why, even high-end guns like my Benelli Ethos and Pardini GT9 had shit in their barrels. It probably has something to do with the shitty factory lube most places use.
By the way, pic is not mine. The stuff was a thin grease, no rough feel to it at all. Black as tar.
Went through about 50 patches
