I was wondering if there's any books or reading material that you know of that shows how to create shit like barricades and fortifications and shit like booby traps so in a shit hits the fan scenario you can bunker down or at least make yourself slightly more secure. Please tell me I can find stuff of this nature that won't put me on an FBI shitlist

>Trap building
Two words: Hormone Therapy

On a serious note, a lot of houses have built in shelters and there are companies that will build bunkers for a price. As for less expensive means, just get sandbags and the same steel they use to make targets and do what you can with that.

on a related note, would it be possible to make fortifications out of something like Quikrete?

Hey /k/, I am a student working with a client who owns his own business as a firearms instructor for 20 years. He's NRA certified and focuses primarily on basic firearms training and advanced training for self defense/conceal carry, and some training in competition shooting.

He's looking for a new name for his business, what does /k/ recommend?

DUTCH SNIPERS BEST OF THE WORLD.
MAKE AMERICAN COLLEAGUES EAT THEIR OWN GHILLIE SUITS FOR BREAKFAST.

A sergeant and corporal of the Dutch Marine Corps participated from April 10th to April 16th at the Advanced Sniper Course and for their performance they received the Navy / Marine Corps Achievement Medal. This training took place on the 9-mile Training Center in Texas. The marines had formidable opponents from both the USMC, Rangers, FBI and SWAT. During this match American equipment and weapons were used (M40 with a 7.62mm cartridge). During the match the Marines were evaluated on shooting from an angle, shooting from a helicopter, pistol shooting, live stalking and their performance during the final exercise. Eventually, the two Dutch marines as a team were crowned as the best sniper team and individually as best shooter and best sniper.

This proves once more that America has formidable equipment, yet fails miserably in the quality of its soldiers.

America. Git Gud.

Reminds me of the RK-series Finnish rifles. Probably nice, but the Russian army's probably not going to upgrade very soon.
>>
Neat upgrades. Interesting that Russia is continuing to go with the massive muzzle brakes. The guns seem excellent to shoot but NVG are so common now it seems really debilitating in a gunfight.

A balanced recoil system with a hybrid brake/flash hider is the way to go.
>>
>Let us modernizing the AK!

Cool, how 'bout that safety lever?

>NO! SAFETY LEVER MUST REMAIN SAME FOREVER!

Anon!

Thank goodness you've arrived on time. A madman has taken hostages on the 100th floor of the Chrysler building! We need you to get in there and stop him. If you manage to do it without any casualties, you can have your pick of any gun on gunbroker or armslist.

Oh, and we've removed the element of danger. You'll be covered by the NYPDs finest designated marksman!

Regular beat cops wouldn't handle that, though every NYPD cop is now trained in active shooter situations. They would close off the building and create a perimeter. And then call for ESU "emergency service unit" NYPD swat team type.

Good Morning. Canadian /k/ommando here.

Question for Texans since Google is giving me a hard time. I'm visiting Texas with my friend (who lives in another country) and I would like to take him shooting while we are there. We will in be in Dallas, SA, Houston, Corpus, Austin, and the Big Bend area. Does anyone recommend a range for us to try out? Preferably outdoor and has access to rent-able firearms from rifles to pistols. Full auto range isn't necessary, but would be an interesting experience regardless.

On a side note: he seems to have his mind set on firing an RPK - seems like a pretty rare range rental though. Any tips of fulfilling part of his apparent life long wet dream of firing an RPK over his head while dressed as the FSA would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Houston
American Shooting Centers have the nicest range, you have to register which takes like 5 minutes. Good atmosphere, can see a lot of stuff but nothing in the way of rentals.

Athena Gun Club is your executive level one, they are expensive as fuck, shit load of rentals including automatics, but good luck getting one of the good ones, they always go to the higher level members. I mean for fucks sake they have a cigar room and gun vallet. I'm jelly as fuck.
>>
'The Bullet Hole' in SA is pretty alright, they have rifle out to 300yds and a big pistol line. They also do private shooting bays and machine gun rentals for a decent price.
>>
>>29811505
Houstonfag here. If you drive a little bit north of the city, Spring Guns & Ammo has a nice indoor range and a bunch of guns you can rent to shoot, including full autos. It's where I normally shoot if I don't feel like shooting outdoors.

There's something specifically about the uniforms, the solid color and naturally more low level of tactical gear that do the trick. I think any randomly picked outfit looks neater than majority of the outfits modern soldiers wear.

Can anyone tell me where can i buy a destroyer ship legally? Where I can check for prices, not that government auction bullshit.
23 posts and 6 images submitted.
>>
In Switzerland you could own one.
Have fun driving it around on the lake Constance
>>
Most places won't sell unless to sovereign nations.

Best bet? Get really rich, buy citizenship for Sealand, then buy your destroyer from the french or maybe the Argentinian, just tell them you plan to shell the british coast and they'll more than likely sell it to you at a discount

The real problem would be crewing it.

You could get Navy vets but they'd probably be old and there wouldn't be all that many that would be willing to sail in a 1 ship fleet.

You could try contracting from Merchant Navies, and teach them how to operate the weapons, then the world is your oyster.

I was just curious if the m60 102s or any of the other more recent upgrade packages for the M60 are used by any of the US military branches.

The m60 120s is basically an upgrade kit that makes m60 comparable to the m1a1.
12 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
The last M60, which was being used for vehicle training, went out of service 11 years ago.
>>
>>29811214
It's comparable because it is one.
>>
>>29811214
It's am m1's turret on an upgraded m60 hull but it wasn't a cost effective solution so no one bought it. So yeah. The most recent upgrade used by any country is probably the Turks using the sabra.

Why are steel rifle magazines always corrugated? Would it not be simpler to make a metal box without corrugations? Is it a matter of increasing structural integrity?

>>29810905
when you conjugate the magazine it makes it harder to make run off from the bullet. it holds them tighter in it while it still is flawless and has a great grip or "feel" to it. it worked fine on the 20 rounders and then they put it on a 30 to make it grip easier. i am not a robot

it gives the magazine a higher level of rigidity, same concept as the reinforcing ribs on top of the AKM dust cover.

I heard that chinese AK mags didn't have them at first, and this caused malfunctions when conscripts fired gripping the mag with stress-induced strength, but I couldn't vouch for that being true.

Hello /k/, here from /o/, please excuse lack of terminology, I have literal, on spectrum autistic level of obsession with cars.

I was seeing if the CZ-83 .380 would be a good buy for a first pistol and personal protection, as well as open and concealed carry.
I live in texas so it's like a free for all here.

My apartments are starting to get a little, let's say, trashy and money is low at the moment.
I'd love to spend $600 to 750 on an ugly ass Walther p99c that I adore.

Is a $200-300 CZ a good buy?
Could I find it in any military surplus store?
The gun seem great and I like how accurate it is being an "antique".
Any help will be appreciated.

Nothing dramatically wrong with anything in OP. If you can, try the gun out before buying to see if the mag works flawlessly, locks in properly etc. With a short 380 reliability is really your only concern, no worries about accuracy or trigger pull. If it's new, you're in the clear, just make sure to maintain it. If it's not, maintain it anyway.

How are you short on money if you have multiple apartments?

I would look for a smaller frame if I were set on .380 but otherwise the 83 should be a solid choice.
