At what point does reloading become cheaper in $$/Round ?
For example, 30-40 Krag is ~1.50$ a round but .308 is like 40 cents, and common handgun rounds are even cheaper.
>>29820118
But steel cased .308 is going to have shit consistency. It doesn't cost any more to have precise powder loads. More consistent brass and bullets may well cost more
6.5 creedmoor is $1.6 retail.
Using new components, my first load is $1.54 each subsequent reload is 45 cents.
>>29820147
>>29820118
Consistency isn't my concern.
If I can shoot an neat rifle like a Krag–Jorgensen at 50% the 'market' ammo price then I'd be pretty happy, as opposed to an M14 at full prices.
At least I think it's a Krag–Jorgensen. It's got that weird side door thing and shoots 30-40, what else could it be?
>>29820193
>1.60$ per round retail
>First load is $1.54 each subsequent reload is 45 cents
THIS is the kind of info I was looking for. 6.5 creed seems like it would be on the more expensive end too.
If I invested in reloading as a hobby and people in the local circle I get into know this, will I become "the guy" for reloads? Not looking for profit, but getting usefulness out of an investment is important to me.
Are people stupid enough to buy shit like this?

/K/ommandos, you sign up as a cargo ship anti piracy guard to deffend captain Phillips from skinny. What is your rifle of choice for this task? Mine would be an dmr ar10 to keep em at range in their skiff and a shit ton of clp to fend off the salty sea air.

What ever is cheapest and available for sale to Maritime PMCs in the last port I was in. Since I have to toss the gun and probably the ammo too, before enter the next port.
So. Right off the bat, sorry if this starts a shit storm. Wandered in from another board with a question.
I am not a gun person. I understand people collect guns much like they collect stamps, I understand people like hunting and I understand there are locations where having a weapon available offers peace of mind.
I also understand there are those who enjoy the thought of having enough firearms to equip a small army.
My question? Where do you draw the line?
At what point do you think weapon ownership should be considered excessive? Either in quantity of weapons, Quality of weapons or potential danger of misuse?
Is there such a thing as too much gun?
I ask this of you as people who (I assume) actually know a bit about the topic.
Country? Law? Politics? fuck it.
All I want to know is if there is a point where you think "Shit, that guy has too many guns/super killy guns" and roughly what that point is.
>Is there such a thing as too much gun?
Nope
Guy this is a board for the discussion of firearms/ weapons themselves, not necessarily the connotations and mindsets around them. Go to /pol/ for a better discussion. Cheers
how about you fuck off

What would be a situation, time or place in which an HK 45C or 45CT would be the ideal carry weapon?
The gun seems to have a cult-like following, but I can't help but notice that it only has a capacity of 8+1, and is as big as a Glock 19. Yet, this thing, along with an equally perplexing choice, the Sig P239, is used by Seal Team Six.
Why not both, senpai?
I carry an hk45c and a p239 depending.
Hk45c LEM is god tier for fast target shooting plus you can carry with the extendo...I do. 11 o'clock cross draw appendix. The mag just sits in like with the waist and its invisible.
P239 is just high class. St6 carries the 239 as a back up gun with the hk45c though I think, not either or.
Picking between the two is just a win-win
>>29819470
Is the seal 239 a 9mm?
>>29819413
It is a pretty compact, suppressor ready pistol that is reliable, unlike commander sized 1911s. There are 10 round magazines that are as reliable as the 8 rounders, also unlike the 1911
Capacity is not that big of an issue for SEALs since it is a secondary weapon.
.45 tends to suppress better than 9mm
Does anyone own a G43 rifle or fired one before? If so, can you tell me more about it?
I have an AR15 and 1911, but I really want to satisfy my inner wehraboo. I am prepared to shell out the cash for one I can shoot regularly. Most of the G43s I've seen online are ~$2500+. Is it worth the money?
>>29819254
They're shit and you can't find ammo.

Yeah you don't want to do that. These are rare and valuable as it is and they have been known to have parts breaking. That already sets the stage for losing money. These are best as safe queens and an occasional trip to the range. If you grab one under $2k in good condition you are lucky.
Sup /k/? boot ass Marine here about to check into ITB at Geiger soon. I honestly have no idea what to expect and any advice would be appreciated.
>>29819165
You are not going to enjoy the rest of your time.
>>29819165
Here's some advice,
GO BUY A DECENT LOOKING BOOK AND READ IT INSTEAD OF ASKING FOR ADVICE ON AN ANIME BOARD.
For Christ sake, you're a fucking Marine now. Leave this stupid shit behind for a couple years. The advice is literally, "Just show up and they will give you advice on everything you do for the entire time, so you don't need mine."

It's a great relief from bootcamp.
You'll do around 4 hikes, the last one being a 20k.
Don't be a fucking retard and you'll get liberty every weekend.
For the most part, the combat instructors will treat you like a human being so long as you're not an idiot.
So /k/, I just started a new job, and I noticed on my first day that EVERY employee was open carrying. I don't own any guns. Should I be concerned? Why would they be carrying if it wasn't a dangerous place?
>>29819067
Well what is your job? Personally I'd feel safer
You should be concerned if everyone in burgerking is packing. Never know when the clown will send his goons.

I'm a secretary for the local police station.
What is the first and last thing a nigger will see when they kick open your front door?
>>29819016
When they burst in and see me in my fursuit, anally masturbating to Sonic porn on a widescreen monitor, they'll turn their guns on themselves. That's why I don't need a HD gun.

>When I find out that a male over 60 never served in Vietnam my mind leaps to "draft dodger" and I lose at least a little bit of respect for them, particularly if they had deferments
Is it normal to feel this way?
>>29818970
No. There were plenty of people who were of military age who weren't drafted for whatever reason. You're probably just some shitheel who thinks in black and white. It's a rather simplistic mindset really.
>>29818970
It's pretty judgemental.
A lot of people got drafted sure, but a lot of others didn't.
>>29818992
>>29818998
I'm aware that some people had medical deferments, or their draft number simply came up, but that's not the first thing my mind jumps to.
