I found this while cleaning out my grandmas house but I'm not sure what it is. The markings on it are hard to read but I can make out: "1858" "newyork USA" "new model". The rest of the markings are too hard to make out.
If anyone has any information I would appreciate it.

1850`s Famas.

Remington new model, probably in .44
cherish this antique piece of metal, it's was slaughtered the west. Thanksgiving sure is the perfect day to find such a thing.
>>32112537
Looks like a Model 1858 Remington
What is up with that cylinder? There are no cuts for the stop or the nipples.
Is the M67 still the best hand grenade around or has it been surpassed by some other design?

M67 cut away
The Swedish M56 handgrenade is by far the most powerful handgrenade with one of the largest relative amount of trotyle.
I have a real big hard on for guns with side-loading - I was wondering if there are any side-loading bolt action rifles out there, or recommendations on getting a semi auto reproduction of something like pic related

I've wanted a Martini Henry ever since watching Zulu. Do any of you guys have any experience dealing with IMA and what was the quality of your gun? I'm thinking of buying the untouched mk II short lever or the MkIV long lever for $595.
>>32111806
From what I hear and the site itself states, its a crap shoot.
iv8888 has a great series of vids on them.
IMA is good people. Never bought one of their untouched guns though. Buy one and document the process for our amusement.
>>32111806
I bought one in 2010 and it arrived in better condition than I had expected, came complete, no missing parts. Cleaned it up and it's a shooter.
I bought another one last month and was disappointed. Wood was rotted and it was missing parts (no buttplate no rear sights).
It could be that all the good ones are gone and all that is left are the dregs or it could be just random luck. Hard to tell with only two data points.
Buying my first handgun for Black Friday today. Any suggestions? Thinking about getting a Beretta .40
>>32111164
Don't get a .40
>>32111173
Why not?
>>32111175
Because for the last 26 years .40 hasn't been 10mm
I was going to draw something involving an AA-12 with a 32 round magazine (because apparently those exist), but I couldn't find a single picture of said magazines. I wanted to get the scale right, so I wanted to see an AA-12 with the mag. Do these actual exist?
Pic unrelated.
I want to build an ar-15 soon, what's the cheapest quality build I could do?
When did optics become a standard in USMC? When did regular grunts stop using iron sights?
>>32111100
Huh. I was about to call you a massive retard because AA12s are seen more often with drum mags than without, but now you mention it, they're only ever 20 rounders. It was probably something theoretical that Max Atchisson came up with to promote it as a SAW lite to prospective buyers, since he seriously expected it to replace all infantry weapons.
Instead of spending billions and billions, and putting tens of thousands of seamen at direct risk on a single conventional naval engagement; wouldn't it be much simpler and more effective to HAHO or otherwise insert a handful of divers into an enemy fleet and covertly place explosives directly on the hull of a ship?
>>32111085
How do you retrieve them?
>>32111107
You wait for a day before the fleet sails past, then detonate the explosives after they have been retrieved?
>>32111111
What if mission goes bad and they need evac?
Is Gen 1 night vision a complete meme?
Talk me out of getting this in 30 mins, it's on sale for black friday.

I'm not expecting miracles, but being able to see out to like 150-200 yards would be fantastic.
If I bought this, what would I be getting performance wise?
desperate self bump.
>>32110987
>but being able to see out to like 150-200 yards
Not happening. Save your shekels for at least a pvs14 or better yet wait until FLIR shit gets really good. Now FLIR really is the force multiplier that theytalk about when they talk about NV.
>>32111144
So what could I expect with one like I linked, 50-100?
Realistically all I'm wanting (for what I'm willing to pay) is the ability to make out a human being a human at night with very little to no light.
And I could never justify a fucking 3k+ NV scope.
Got a galil ACE. Shot it today. Did this. Is that normal? Note. This was just from chambering the round. Trigger was never pulled.
>>32110892
Why did you buy the shitty version of the Galil? Should've put your money towards a pre-ban like pic related.
>>32110892
I've never shot or seen an ACE but this seems identical to am AR. The free floating firing pin means it contacts the primer when the bolt chambers a round. It is not a problem.
>>32110892
Does the fall have a free floating firing pin? If so, that's normal I'd say. ARs do the same thing.
Hypothetical war time.
Let's say the US patches up relations with Russia and the two become BFFs. Too many NATO countries don't make the 2% GDP rule and Donnie withdraws. He starts a trade war with China that results in hostile relations with them. Japan and Korea both post mean tweets that set him into a rage. Then, war were declared.
How long could a US-RU alliance hold out against basically the entire allied world?
Depends, do we still get our chinese cartoons?
>How long could a US-RU alliance hold out against basically the entire allied world?
until the smoke settles and everyone is carbonized. i don't think the us+ru could lose this conflict even if there were 3 more rest of worlds to fight, unless you consider the fallout as a pyrrhic victory
>>32110773
We could take over Germany and split it, just like the good ol' days.
I just use the same pic edition
Is cheaper than 20 ducket wallmart dickies jacket?

Ducket = dollars
Dickies = a brand of clothing
With the exception of ergos, is the USP45 a better buy over the HK45?
>>32110696
Get mk24. And mk23 for your USP needs.
>>32110722
Why the Mk24? I can't carry in this fucking state anyway, so a full size is my choice.
USPs tank in value if you buy, buy used
I liked mine until I compared it side by side to a glock, and then was totally unimpressed
Is there any reason I shouldn't want a Stock III in 10mm? Might be tricky to conceal, but I'm tall so I should be able to do it.
>>32110686
I have literally no knowledge about this gun
>how's the company's reputation?
>how's the gun's reputation
>how good is the aftermarket?
>can you afford 10mm?
>can you afford/know where too look for a custom holster to CC this gat?
If you answered yes/good to most of these buy it if not reconsider it.
It's very aesthetic I'll give you that.
>>32110707
>Reputation
They make a lot of stuff for IWI before final assembly in Israel. They made the old CZs that are frequently lauded, and seen in pretty high echelons of competition.
Their customer service is apparently ass, however.
>Gun's reputation
PRetty good, but I'm not able to find a hole hell of a lot either way.
>Aftermarket
Not much.
>Custom Holster
I was planning on making a kydex shell myself and slapping it on an Aliengear base.
Polygonal rifling, 14+1 10mm, some people saying it's better than the SP-01 Shadow, some preferring the Shadow.
>>32110740
If you can get it for a decent price why not?
If you don't mind me asking though why are you getting it? Is it a dream gat?

By not funding actual infastructure like, you know, plumbing and water treatment.
