Well /k/, I finally won a fucking raffle!
$10 and I got a Ruger SR22 waiting to be picked up at a small town general store. I'll be picking it up next weekend.
What I want to know is how anons who have shot or own a SR22 feel about it? I really don't *need* another .22lr pistol but the other raffle options were a new Marlin .30-30 and a new Ruger 10/22 takedown.
Failing that, unexpected acquisitions thread.

is it worth it to buy an airsoft gun with a laser to train in your house with it?
ive heard you can get some programs with your camera and a projector that simulate a shooting range.
is it good to practice this way or will the difference in recoil between an airsoft gas blowback gun and a real gun be too different to train the same things?

Hey man, people on this board give airsoft a hard time and idk why. It's great for getting kids in to guns and gun safety and they're fun to play with. I sure as hell enjoyed it as a kid. Don't feel bad about using airsoft so safely oper8 indoors

Airsoft by itself is fine. It seems like you get a lot of fags who play some airsoft, some how believe they're delta, believe that training with airsoft, is the exact same as training with real firearms.

i guess i was referring to training aim, shot placement, double taps, multiple target shooting etc.
my main concern though is that i wont train myself to adequately account for recoil since the recoil of an airsoft gun is obviously alot less than a real gun

Spalling protection doesn't really count. A part from a couple few, I've only seen either pure ceramics or pure (pardon the spall protection) steel armor.

Hey /k/,
Had an idea today.
Would buying a savage axis in .308 and then mounting a red dot scope, bipod and sling be a good deer rifle?
I hunt in brush for the most part but there were a couple opportunities to shoot a deer this year where I'd spot them from over 100yds away, but couldn't shoot them with the 30-30 that was lent to me.
I have the red dot scope already all I need is a picatinny mount.
Good idea or too Bubba?
I'm a poor college student so budget is tight but I still love my hobby.

If you are only shooting in 100 yards then you don't need a .308. In fact, a 30-30WCF is perfect at 100 yards and if you are missing with that then you will probably be missing with your 308. Especially when you're only putting a red dot on it. Also doesn't appear to have iron sights, so at least the red dot will make up for that. Everything you are doing just sounds like a bad idea and not really well thought out.

The Ruger looks smoother and The Ruger brand seems to have good Reputation,
on the other I'm not familiar the unamerican Taurus brand
