Hello, /k/, a crossposter from /v/ here.

As it makes sense, two weapons shooting the same caliber will deal pretty much the same damage at the same range.

If you were to design a game with shooting(whether turn based on real time), what are statistics that would be relevant, and realistic, to add to each weapon? How do you classify if some weapon x is better than weapon y, if they're firing the same caliber?

Same for weapon modifications. Can you do much more than just increase accuracy with weapon mods?

Barrel length is a factor in accuracy and muzzle velocity. Overall length and absence or presence of a stock are each a factor in handling. Additionally, accuracy is composed of three components- the mechanical accuracy of the firearm, the quality and design of the ammunition, and the skill of its operator. That second thing is why you hear talk of things like "match-grade" ammo. And modifications can increase the mechanical accuracy of a weapon, incrase its magazine capacity, change its handling, or, in cases like flared magazine wells, even facilitate faster reloads. Additionally, due to longer barrels and stocks facilitating greater stability and better sight pictures as well as allowing the powder to burn fully, rifles generally have greater effective ranges.

No experience with those rounds, but i've shoot 200 polycase stuff, really really fast flat and light, only complaint is with beefier slide 9mms the slide doesn't lock to the rear final shot reliably.

Oops forgot link.
Price ain't too bad either.

Thanks. Awesome, I may try that one as well and see about that last round slide lock.

How piratical is the Longbow and the Longsword in modern combat? They were proven by Jack Churchill to be as fordable as the machine gun and pistol.

In hand to hand combat, a longsword trumps knife in terms of kinetic energy of the longbow they've got a draw weight of roughly 300 depending if they've been made for the user and correctly.

They could work the bow could easily be upgraded and redesign with armor piecing rounds and explosive heads.

Greetings /k/

I am planning on purchasing a new firearm soon and was looking for something small that takes a reliable cartridge and would be good for a vehicle gun. I've been pricing an AR pistol and can likely build one for $600-$1000 but was wondering if there were any non-NFA PDWs or related firearms for around the same price, preferably the lower end of the price range.

TL:DR
>Cheap short firearm that does not require tax stamp
>$600 - $1000
>affordable catridge
>nothing obscure

What can you recommend me?

I have a radical firearms 7.5 inch 556/223 ar15 pistol. I love it. I bought it from primary arms. Fantastic firearms, never jams, works amazing, almost better than any of my other ar15s. Hope this helps.

Holy shit. I am extremely close to primary arms, could probably get there in half an hour. did you buy it complete or separate upper and lower?

>>

Armslist is decent. I paid $400 for mine, which is in nice shape with matching numbers. Anywhere from $350-500 for one in decent condition is to be expected. Price depends on country of origin and condition obviously.

Hello /k/
Please help calm my autism. I have a 54r vepr and an svt 40. Yes, I'm American. There is a guy nearby selling a Romanian psl that I am tempted to buy even though I don't have the money. He wants 1400 for it. I am trying to tell myself that it's not worth buying but I'm frustrated with my vepr not working with any aftermarket mags (dish cut bolt) and the fact it doesn't look as cool. Help convince me that my current two rifles are adequate.

Also, 54r general. Posting burger svt

sounds like you don't really care for the vepr. sell it. to me.

Try to talk him down on the price. PSL's are cool but they aren't great shooters, thin barrels and weak trunnions are the downside. The upside is they look awesome and will relatively hold their value.

For what it's worth, my psl is pretty dead on accurate with factory 188 surplus or LVE headstamped 150gr commercial stuff, regularly hanging slightly above/below 1 inch. I'd love to shoot it in a setting that removed all human error and see what it could do.
Bulgarian seems inconsistent, shoots great as a whole, but seems like there's always a wtf tier flyer or two out of 10. I mean, it's not super far off, but it kindof wrecks a solid group when you absolutely know your aim was true on that shot.
It shoots like total ass with romanian ammo.
Also, I've never taken any real interest in 54r veprs, the single stack magwell turns me off a lot by itself. And I like something that's legit military in looks so I'm holding out till m91s possibly make it over here. And I really need an svt, even if I'll probably just have it mostly as a decoration. I love how they look.

>Try to talk him down on the price
The problem with that is, he probably can easily get that with a little patience. And he probably knows it. PSL scopes alone have gone from 100-300.

are civilian trainers [who are well educated in the field but have zero experince] better trainers then ex army guys? also any good experince or example of bad/good trainers who were ex military/civilian

I was thinking of people like Sonny Puzikas or James Yager who seem to be both ex military but there training is hated by every one
