military style rifles and shotguns. I'm assuming as normal 12 gauge is probably still safe. Do you really need one of "these" (a combat shotgun) for hunting?
"these" is a link to a wikipedia article SPAS-12
I am banned form Reddit at the moment and have homework but otherwise I would flame up this thread!

As a concept, yes. Suffered from the issues of being a Panther and German logistics.

But It had and upgraded transmission and final drive.
So I realize Germany's fate in WWII was pretty much sealed when the United States was able to bring it's full industrial power to bear. But...
What if Hitler had prioritized U-boats and had hundreds of them ready at the beginning of the war? What if Goering had not ordered the Luftwaffe to begin attacking dockyards and oil depots instead of the Fighter Command airfields that were nearly knocked out already? What if Hitler had ordered his tanks to move in at Dunkirk and wipe out the expeditionary force instead of basically allowing them to escape? What if he had delayed attacking the Soviet Union until the British Isles were secured? What if he had moved ahead with the planned Sea Lion invasion (after he secured air superiority, of course)?
It seems like the only chance Germany had was to finish the war VERY quickly. But it seems like they also could have done this if some glaring mistakes hadn't been made. I personally think that if the Kriegsmarine was prepared and had had hundreds of U-boats available in September of 1939 instead of the (essentially) 6 they did, Britain could have been knocked out of the war very quickly. The Japs would probably still attack the US, but Germany probably wouldn't feel it necessary to declare war on the US and they could have squeaked by for another decade or so before Hitler died and uprisings started happening.
>inb4 some slavaboo says Russia did all the fighting
Yes, I'm aware of the sacrifices made by the Soviet Union on the Eastern Front. But the fact of the matter is that once the United States was able to ensure that their convoys reached Great Britain safely, it meant Britain was no longer out of the game and the Western Front wasn't secure. It also helped secure victory in North Africa and paved the way for the Allied invasion at Normandy. If Hitler could have spared pulling all of his forces from the West and leaving it totally undefended, the Eastern Front may have played out very differently.

>So I realize Germany's fate in WWII was pretty much sealed when the United States was able to bring it's full industrial power to bear
Not true. It was very close through the end of the war
If any little difference had happened in the Reich's favor during the war the Reich would have won.
I'm as Murica as the next guy but I hate the "once we got involved it was over" meme

Britain did studies in 1939 and found they could survive without food imports if blockaded.
>Happily, the gloomy spectres of famine oedema, scurvy, and anaemia did not arise. The guinea pigs felt fit and well on the ration and could do their usual work. But there were two main difficulties. One was that meals took a long time to eat. Wholemeal bread without butter took ages to chew. The sheer quantity of potato needed to make up calories also took time to eat. All the fibre in the diet caused 250% bigger poos. They measured it.

Hey /K/ so im planning on hitchhiking around the USA while doing some workaways (work in exchange for hospitality)
Now I know it's not as dangerous as the media makes out but I should have a safety precaution, a weapon of some sort and would like some recommendations. I should say that the budget is super tight.
How easy and how cheap could I get a pistol? Or should I just get a reliable knife?

you can get a used Kel-Tec P3AT or the Taurus equivalent for about $200
I EDC my kel-tec and it is small, unobtrusive, and reliable enough. (It isn't as reliable as my Beretta, but it is more reliable then my old glock)
I want to hear informed opinions on whether the concept of "landships" would of worked or not and why.
I mean, the idea is obviously pretty high on the tacticool scale, but would it have ever been practical? The fact that we don't see them in the modern world would suggest they wouldn't be.
Buuut I could also imagine that there are other factors that led to that: Cost or the fact that we haven't had another major war since WW2 being the ones that first come to my mind.
So, what's your take on this /k/? And while we are on the subject, are there any good papers that I could read on the subject of superweapons and their effectiveness IRL?
>>33079329
No. They're too heavy to use roads, they're too heavy to cross soft earth, they're extremely vulnerable to aircraft
>>33079329
Hans Guderian's Blitzkrieg idea showed that to win a war you need to be highly mobile, and that's the main point why the landship wasn't a good idea
They're too big and too heavy to do anything practical besides sit in one fucking spot and get blown to shit by aircraft
How can China and Russia even compete?
>CAMP HUMPHREYS, South Korea – The first Warrior Zone in Korea opened its doors during a ribbon cutting ceremony at Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, Feb. 16.
>The Warrior Zone is a modern recreation facility centered on high-speed gaming options with a large variety of entertainment systems. It provides Soldiers the opportunity to compete against each other and showcase their gaming skills, kick it at the pool table or just simply relax, eat and watch a movie.
>The United States Army Garrison-Humphreys Garrison Commander Col. Joseph C. Holland was the guest speaker during the ceremony. He spoke of the benefits and importance of this new facility.
>“This is a great day to be here at U.S. Army Garrison-Humphreys as we deliver to our Soldiers a state of the art Warrior Zone, specifically designed for our men and women who are thousands of miles from their homes.”
>Some of the highlights the Warrior Zone has to offer are: Alienware gaming stations, gaming areas with more than 150 games for PS4, Xbox One, several pool tables, foosball, a movie theater with state of the art surround sound, commercial computers with free internet throughout the facility and a restaurant. The Warrior Zone is open to Soldiers, to include KATUSAs and guests 18 years and older.

Im recently building an AWC and try to find a folding stock lower like pic under 2000+$. Could you anons help me out
>inb4 falling for meme gun
i know but its an accurate one and i like the style of it
They don't really sell the classic thumbhole style AICS AX chassis anymore, only the pistol grip version.
You have to buy the classic skin/shell on the secondhand market, like ebay
Even after that, it should not cost you more than 2k. the AICS chassis is sub 1000 dollars, the AICS AX chassis costs around 1300 dollars. If you want the classic "skin" you would have to find one secondhand which can range in price of 200-500 dollars.
>>33079240
>build an AWC
>meme but accurate and I like it
Hahaha let me explain why you're gonna have a bad time... It's pretty clear from your lack of basic research and blatantly incorrect terminology that you don't know much about the subject. What you are looking for is an AICS which stands for Accuracy International Chassis System. It is built to house a Remington 700. What you will end up is not an AI rifle. It will be a garbage rifle that shoots 1-2 MOA and has none of the design elements lending to the ruggedness and accuracy of actual AI rifles. All you will have built is a heavy scoped rifle that looks kinda neat from afar but is a disgusting abortion up close and needs a barrel swap, action work, bolt swap and trigger swap to actually perform as a decent target gun.

thanks anon i try to find a classic looking one i don't like the pistol grip version
Would /k/ recondition their shooting posture and weapons handling just because they weren't doing it ""right""?
I was trying out a bersa .380 at the range before I bought one when this fit QT gril with a big old "certified firearms instructor" hat walked up to me and said my form was all wrong and my handling was terrible. She went on to babble for another 10 minutes about shit I wasn't listening to because I was only interested in smelling her perfume mixed with powder gasses. Anyway for some reason this bitch made me self conscious and now every time I look at a trained shooter practicing I can see that my form is wonky as all hell.
Now I'm not a great shot, but I'm pretty damn decent. Not sights right on hickok45 decent, but damn decent enough. However whenever I try to practice correct posture and handling my shots are all over the map. There is almost no discernible pattern to them at all. I burned through 220 rounds of 9mm and 130 rounds of .40 over the weekend trying to get this fucking posture right. I just couldn't do it. The moment I go back to my two decade old backwoods trained posture I'm nailing my gong harder than I would nail that firearm instructor.
Would /k/ recondition their shooting posture if they were in my situation?
Why would you even try an listen to a bitch anon? That shit gon get you in trouble one day.
test

You're a such a faggot. Stop letting your fragile masculinity become compromised because a girl knows more than you.
If you can shoot decently enough to defend yourself, you're fine. If you want to be a great shot, you need to unlearn your bad habits. There's nothing wrong with being okay with mediocrity.
I've always thought that if my life were to go completely down the drain I would spend the last of my money for a ticket to France and join the French Foreign Legion.
Have any of you ever considered this as an option?
yes. age is a factor for enlistment. dont want native english speakers above Djibouti Dan or favela frank
>>33079066
I considered this for a long while,
finally got the tickets,
2 days after buying tickets I get an amazing girlfriend and some job offers that suck but the pay is alright.
At the same time I dont want to not go now.
Conflicted as shit. Thought about going for 8 months.
i want to go but i need to get in shape
me leaving tho would tear the family apart
me not leaving will probably lead to a lifetime of self loathing
the moment i pass the border i can say that i wont have a family anymore and if i wont get in i can just consider becoming a hero
im conflicted /k/
