I have this thing against hammer spurs. If I see it on one of my revolvers I have almost autistic urge to remove it.

It wasn't much of a problem until recently when I got Rast&Gasser revolver (about 2 months ago).

I was set on not letting my autism take hold of me and deface this antique, but after I had chance to shoot it for first time couple of days ago I'm pretty set on doing the thing, despite knowing how wrong it is.

Basically need you guys to convince me not to do it.

pic. is not mine, my is at my friend safe from my autism (for now).

Dude, there's plenty of bait threads on /k/ already. I'd complain that this one killed another thread, but in all honesty it probably bumped another shitpost into the archive rather than something worthwhile.

"I'm gonna fuck up this old/rare/expensive gun XD" is played out anyway.
>>
Buy another hammer, modify it. Swap them out. Now it's reversible.

I know, there are lots of b8 thread of this kind, but I'm serious about (ok, I might added a bit of dramatization).

Best thing that since it uses Abadie system it still will be funtional (minus SA mode).

>>33080617
This is a good idea on paper, but I don't think there are many Abadie hammers around.

What do you plan on using it for? The USMC Kabar is a nice knife, it is well made, and worth owning... but you can get more functional and stronger designs now a days that are better for general utility and outdoor use.

If get a ka bar becker over a normal ka bar. That shit stick tang the ka bar has, has been known to snap off. If you don't plan on using the knife, than go ahead and get the shitty thing.

eventually it will get replaced by something, in fact I have no doubt the united states will be using something else by the end of the century. It's a good rifle but it has some serious flaws. I don't care how many people disagree with me but it does jam way too much for it's own good, although it might be hard for people to realize that if people are judging that by their range toys that only operate in pristine conditions.

Watch some videos on disassembly and reassembly if you wish. If you're a total newbie I would...

She won't need much lube. You will notice the factory lube once you take the slide off. It's just a dry slide with copper anti seize on the rails. You can totally run it like that. Don't get over compulsive with it or treat her like a safe queen.

I just rub a bit of hoppes 9 and make sure the barrel is clean. Could do more but 700 rounds without failure so I'm no too worried about it.

Oh also this is a bit random but I nearly did it myself only to find out later it can seriously fuck up your ejector. Do not shotgun load a round in. Slide back and placing the bullet directly into the barrel and sliding it such.

Don't. Just get a 22 or a AR lower and build yourself an AR.

First off, dont buy anything at a gunshow. You are going to pay a couple hundred extra for a rifle that typically will not be in the best shape. Buy off of gunbroker or armslist. Or even from a local gunstore - anywhere but a gunshow. Of course theres exceptions to the rule, but since you dont know wtf you are looking for, you will not find them.

Second, dont buy a nugget. Its a dead meme. The only reason they were a thing was because they used to be $100. Youre looking at over $200 for one now and thats not even for a good one.

Want a bolt gun? Buy a savage. Semi auto? List more factors (price range, capacity, caliber, etc etc).

Any number of people can make any number of recomendations on what you should buy but it means fuckall unless you can clue us in on what exactly you are looking for. Considering that you mentioned wanting to buy a nugget at a gunshow, im presuming you honestly have no idea what you want - ands thats ok. You just need to do some more homework and think about what youre looking for in a rifle and we can go from there.

I think those are really cool too, kindof a baby psl. I just hope the barrels on those aren't RPK thick to the end, because that's a lot of weight far off from your body, right where it's not supported well. The psl at least does a pretty good job thinning out the barrel to the max after the gas block so most of the weight stays near the shooter.
762x39 goes to 400 yards pretty easily at least through my 4x24 scope too.
I'm pretty much a golden tiger or save my money till it's in stock guy. Had good luck all around with that vs other stuff in the accuracy department.

first, plz thank me for muh cervix
I enjoyed my experience with the m4 more. The m16a4 had a really long stock that when combined with body armor, square stance and drill sergeants demanding you go nose to charging handle, it was unmanageable. the m4 is a lot shorter of a package that makes it...handy. My civilian ar15 is a 14.5, and I'd never want an ar longer than 16 inches.
>>
>>33080163
The M4 was better. An adjustable stock is a godsend with body armor or inna-MRAP.

My favorite setup was on deployment with a 10.3 inch free floating barrel upper gifted by special guys. Shorter is cooler.
>>
>>33080163

Army vet here. I had an M16A4 in basic training, and later an M4, which was later "upgraded" to an M4A1.

To be perfectly honest, for a general purpose rifle, I preferred the M16A4, but it has its flaws.

I feel the Canadians have the right idea, utilizing a 20 inch barrel with collapsible stock. The ideal service rifle, to me, is an M16A4 with a Vltor A5 kit. Collapsible, easy enough to get in an out of vehicles with, not quite too long to maneuver indoors, yet still maintains fragmentation potential at nearly twice the distance as the M4. Plus, the VLTOR Emod stock that comes with the A5 kit has a little heft to it, which helps counterbalance the rifle's weight a bit.

In addition, I think the Army should suck it up and switch over to the Mk262 cartridge for magazine fed rifles.

The M4 was okay. The M4A1 is entirely too nose heavy with the heavy barrel. If you are the poor fucker who has an M4A1, PEQ-15 and M320 grenade launcher, I really fucking pity you. Such a configuration is damn near impossible shoot and move from a standing position, and weighs a fucking ton.

In addition to big-rifles, I think vehicle crews, machine gunners, maintenance personnel, rear-echelon personnel and other such people ought to have something like an MP7 or AR platform 5.56 PDW. Something bigger than a handgun, but capable of automatic fire and a bit more useful in a firefight. The handguns never get used anyway, and if we are all rocking MK262, they'd still be effective within our ideal 300m fire envelope.
