What kind of lube do you guys use?
I want to get some kind of grease with a lot of staying power. I have been using 5w-30 Valvoline but this shit dries out way too fast.
I want to be able to lube up my rifle and leave it alone for a month without needing to lube it again before I take it to the range.

Only grease is going to do the kind of shit you want it to do, but oil is going to be better at just about everything else, and for that reason alone I'd never suggest using grease.

If he wants a 16" SPR he should get a 16" Hanson or similar profile. SPRs aren't meant for gunning, so a SOCOM makes zero fucking sense from that standpoint, and also makes zero fucking sense from weight standpoint since SOCOMs are a heavy profile essentially towards the rear.
