ok, so when are you going to upload the krenz cushart gumroad tutorials?
I've been waiting for weeks on end and It saddens me you guys not wanting to pirate it, like, I gave you one of the cgma courses and what do you give this anon when he doesn't have money uh? nothing! that's right
>>2542032
They're probably not that great, all I want from Krenz is to see the fucking videos of him painting like pic related, just that, but I think they don't exist
https://gumroad.com/krenzcushart
>10 dollars minimum
>doesn't even include the cool pieces we want to see
fuck this guy
>>2542032
I don't see how a tutorial would help anyone with this. It doesn't look like he's using any complicated technical functions you'd need to be taught. Most of his pictures seem to rely on his experience. He's picking colors and mixing them himself and probably using only one or two brushes throughout. A simple step by step probably wouldn't give much insight into how he makes his design decisions or rendering decisions if it's all as intuitive to him as it comes across to me.
Post art with a unsettling feel or style, something like that.

Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make your mom proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.
Visit the usual "Artbook Thread" to find your desired books. (Or look in the new sticky)
Do not forget to PLEASE RESIZE and crop your images before uploading them. 1kpx is fine.

There's a new sticky in town! You can see it at:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VfDTpLLVl5bWUGWguswKpPFml533luI8-NBd1EGYHnA/edit
>Thread study: Try to draw/paint the opening or any other following images.
Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.
TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
Old thread: >>2536826
>>2540540
This sticky is overwhelming to a newcomer, in-concise, and difficult for finding a starting point based on an individual's skill. It's also just plain too long and littered with corollaries between main sections to bog down the uninvested reader.
The original sticky did it better because:
- Steps of artist development were clearly outlined with numbers (Step 1 - Fixing symbol drawing, Step 2 - Construction, Step 3 - Perspective, etc. etc.)
- Individual steps of artist development were briefly outlined in one-two paragraphs and a book to read for more information was provided in the same block of information for those who wanted to read further. This enabled the process of people painlessly reading the paragraph, being able to determine if they needed to spend time in those fundamentals, and then easily having a bootstrapping point with a single book (or two) to go to.
I hope your sticky improves and begins to read more as a section of fundamentals with a corresponding text for those wanting to read more as opposed to it being a self-enclosed tutorial (what it currently reads as) with a density of information that lacks enough brevity to be considered useful at a glance.
Maybe do a github with pull requests so that you can curate the informativeness of your content as opposed to a google doc?
>>2540540
As it currently stands, the original sticky is just plain better and there's no reason why I wouldn't recommend that instead of your Google doc.
Again, I'd love to see it come into its own, wish you well.
Give me strong men to draw.

The beginner thread and the alternative style thread is somewhere on this board, use that instead of creating threads to showcase your art.

Anybody have any experience with painting outside? What kind of setup do you use?
What did you have to buy and what can I get for cheap?
I'm looking to do some plein air pairings in one session.
Any help or tips are appreciated.
>>2542250
I've done it a bit, though not recently.
Honestly the best thing to do is to do is gather the obvious things (portable stool, easel, brushes, paints, canvas etc) and then go out and do it. Then you will very quickly realize what you need or don't need. Like maybe you will go "oh fuck, I didn't bring any rags or paper towels with me" and you know to bring it next time. Or "crap, the wind keep blowing over my easel, I need a weight on it". "Fuck I'm thirsty in the summer heat, I should bring a water bottle". "Dammit, I don't have a way of transporting the wet finished painting easily without smearing oils over everything".
There's a lot of people who have written excellent blog posts listing all their preferences, but at the end of the day that's what works for them and may not work for you. Get outside, paint, fail, get frustrated, and figure out what things you find you will need to bring next time (or leave at home next time).
Also you don't need any fancy expensive pochade boxes or anything. You can build most yourself or just make do with cheap things and find solutions around things. For example you can stick the wooden end of your wet brushes into the ground so they stand up vertical and you don't need to hold them in your hand or use a fancy pochade box with holes in it for them.
>>2542250
It depends on what you use; oils, watercolor, guache, acrylic etc
I paint with oils and I use a french easel and backpack to carry everything i need, though usually not too far from my car. My French easel is the easel and holds my palette and spare paints as well as lidded palette cups with my turp and my medium. My backpack has paper towels, trash bags, brushes, silicoil jar of turp, and spare medium. My medium is usually straight liquin
Nathan Fowkes and James Gurney both use watercolor and guache outside and their sets don't include any easel, but you can find it online at one of their blogs.

Painting outside?? Do you mean virtual plenty air ??
Is twitter an acceptable platform to put art on? Just did this fairly quick sketch and put it on my twitter. satya_1029
Also on my tumblr because I'm a fag, brilliantyesok.tumblr.com
any ways to get out there and recognised? not my best work btw.

>>2542237
There's a self promo thread and a question thread. Both of those would be better than starting a new one just about yourself.

I'm looking for an artist who can colour like this.
Can anyone here/does anyone know who can colour/shade like this whom I can commission?
>>2532714
Why are these threads so dead now?
Bring us your roughs, your storyboards, your pencil tests etc. If you're gonna post animation that isn't yours give source or state that it isn't yours.
If you are bored or have no idea what to do, this thread's animation challenge is to animate a ball bouncing. Interpret that as you will and get creative.
Don't feed the trolls unless you find that sort of thing entertaining.

Need to flesh out the Wallmaster before cleaning up and coloring.
>>2509997
We got a real nigga here, folks.
I'd say you wouldn't be out of bounds raising the Wallmaster up a couple dozen pixels, you're covering so much of him up with link. He typically comes down from well above anyway.
Is this a commission or just a personal project? It looks great!
>>2510006
...also the closer I look at it the smear you've applied to the eyes looks a bit wonky. Try making the smear the same size vertically as the eye coming to rest; maybe it will look worse I don't know, but could be worth a shot.
//
Can you like explain this shit? I don't really understand it.
mmk well
1 draw the circles
make the head go outside the top circle
shoulders go partially in between 2 and 3
tits can go to an optional max of circles 4-5
belly for 6
78 are max hips
9 knees 10 feet
this is just an aesthetic shortcut for keeping your fat bitches proportionately sexy
ive found it works most of the time, fun to doodle and you can adjust poses.
>>2542545
how old are you?
Is there any artist more annoying tha Romero Britto?
Seriously: this guy is the culprit of decadence in taste. Calls himself the new Picasso.
I guess your thread flopped the first time so you made the exact same one again?
Anyone who has the phrase "The new Picasso" attached to their art is generally shit and creates nothing fresh or new. Like that 17 year old fag who's name I am forgetting.
And I actually like Picasso.
>>2536991
No artist from the 80's should have the right to call himself "the new" something. The superfluous Picasso maybe.
Yet, why do you care? Life is short, don't waste it on things you hate.
My friends and me are trying to create a Coat of Arms for our gentlemen's club, and it would be an awful lot of help if you guys could help us in making this decision. Tell us what you think, and what you would add.

its ok

It looks pretty good only (in my opinion) the laurel wreath is kinda out of place
Not bad but the way the wreath cuts off the tower on the bottom looks a bit strange. Also the yellow outline maybe shouldn't follow the wreath on the sides. I dunno, just a thought.
