What are the best resources for learning to draw interiors and scenery? I'm pretty happy with where I'm at right now with drawing characters and objects just sort of floating in space, but I'm absolute shit at doing any sort of background. I know perspective is going to be a thing to work on, but anything you can suggest will be appreciated. Coloring isn't an issue as I mostly work in black and white.

>how do you draw interiors and scenery?
>i can do perspective and color, those will be easy
>asks for environment advice, says fundamentals will be easy
>fundamentals are a part of everything, they have nothing to do with what you are asking
>oh shit, what are you doing...

a-are you ok, anon?
>>
Feng Zhu is pretty good if you already know how to draw, because a lot of his videos are environment-related, and he answers a lot of more advanced art problems. The one downside is he doesn't talk about fundamentals, so you'll learn more from him once you get familiar with environment-related fundamentals (perspective, composition and contrasts are things you can kinda get away without if you only do characters, but definitely need as a generalist.)

I never said anything would be easy, I just said I wanted to prioritize working on the things I feel I am behind on.

Fug I just bought one of these not knowing it was disposable. Is there a cartridge inside if you saw it open that you put a syringe in to refill it? Or is it eyedropper style then I could put a hole in it or saw the end off and find a way to seal it back up once it has more ink in it.
9 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
pull off the back of it , it should just pop off then u can put ink into the hole and it will fill it . then pop the cap back onto it. i have one of those .
>>
it might take a little force to pull it out though, if you can pull it or you break the string off try pliers or your teeth but it will pop out.
>>
oh one last thing i forgot, when you fill it hold it over something to catch the drainage from the tip cus it will leak for a little bit to get rid of excess ink, you only need to use a very small amount of ink in it.

You need to practice line quality and accurately getting down shapes before moving onto complex stuff man
>>
>>2541076
I acknowledge the fact that my lines are shit and my shapes are a bit off, but adding a little detail helps me see where I am lacking. I dont understand why its so taboo for the inexperienced to try something difficult. It is easier to see your mistakes and there is greater reward for getting it right. Also post your attempt anon

Anyone got any tips/books for learning watercolors? Started doing art more than a year ago doing strictly graphite, and consider myself capable of applying values/drawing. But using color still escapes me.

Been watching a couple of videos on Spraypaint art on YouTube. Thank goodness it's more than just graffiti, but graff is great too. Please post all kind of spraypaint art in this thread.

I accumulated about 200 cans and some old vinyl posters to fool around with that my local mall gave away to me.

Just find shit like https://youtube.com/watch?v=i-mCbUnKBzc very inspiring.

What does that actually say though, am I the only one who can't read tags
>>
>>2527401
Committing to a life of degeneracy is the only way to read tags legibly. There's still good in you.

Every program that I try have several brushes, but mostly dont emulate pen just competently, most of the times is just a thin modified version of other brush.

Any recommendation?

Clip studio paint's pen tools with minor adjustments
>>
manga studio is a hundred times better than both Photoshop and sai, no question. also better than krita.

manga studio/Clip studio paint is literally the best art software right now for line art and line quality. it's on the same level as photoshop in terms of painting too, but without all those gadgets and useless tools.

I made this with a box, a box cutter and a shoelace. You might need a flat piece to put on the bottom (you can see it in this pic) and have a stack of paper. You could use twine and maybe you could use two holes at the bottom as well.

I've thought about making a large circular one that can be spun around.

I am going to spend some time in Asia and I wanted to bring some art supplies with me to draw some cities and landscape. What should i buy that is:
portable
has colors
will last at least a month
bonus: will impress my normie friends

I am looking at watercolor pencils but I have no idea what brand to get in particular so I would love to hear some recommendations. Note that I am not looking to save money on supplies so I want the best bang for my buck. Thanks in advance.

I would bring pens like Copics or something, some kind of brush pen, a good little sketchbook with watercolour paper, and a tin of watercolour blocks (mix paints in the lid).

>>2536913
Shit a refillable brush? How did I not know this was a thing. Okay I just looked it up and its called Pentel Aquash, and I am definitely buying one. Do you have any experience with it?

Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make your mom proud.

AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.

Visit the usual "Artbook Thread" to find your desired books. (Or look in the new sticky)

Do not forget to PLEASE RESIZE and crop your images before uploading them. 1kpx is fine.

There's a new sticky in town! You can see it at:

>Thread study: Try to draw/paint the opening or any other following images.
Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

Those circles are just eye holes, for eye placement, and to design googles or eye pieces around. Though, it's not as if I did anything with them.

Anywho, I always had a problem using references. I don't know how to bring a texture or form into a design. I'd make it too literal of a translation. Like, a spaceship helmet would look exactly like spaceship on a head to me. I'd love to bring the smooth, shiny surface to a helmet for a futuristic scify look but.. It never pans out.

So, ive reached a point where I feel like im using books as a crutch and just drawing what people have drawn is not helping me improve as much as it used to. Im now drawing purely from photographs and life.

I would like more websites like quickposes.com to do this.

Anyone have any suggestions? Or just pinterest boards or whatever , just good drawing references of various things. Can be roman architecture, can be faces, can be cats. Preferably all.

Just downloaded the skull sketcher app too so im set on skulls i think.

I'm looking for a good free and open-source substitute to Flash Professional.

Programs such as Toonz, Pencil and Synfig Studios seem to be the most popular alternatives.

Any suggestions?
