do you workout regularly, /ic/? It worries me a bit that I'm becoming more sedentary, due to college and art studies. Good luck that I don't like garbage food but I don't eat too much, what do you do to stay active and healthy but still progressing with your studies?
Have some good ol' Rockwell.

>do you workout regularly, /ic/?
no, /thread
Yes, actually.
However, my family is prone to cholesterol issues early in life. I know I'm in my mid 20s, but I'd like to live past 50...unlike some family members.
I don't, but I'm starting to try to improve my fitness.
A lot of people underestimate the correlation between physical fitness and mental wellness. For you to be at your best in art, you need to be healthy. I've started with sleeping better and eating better, but I want to work in some exercise to maximize it.
I've been reading a book on willpower lately and it's fascinated me how much of an impact your nutrition and sleep has on your self discipline. If you don't eat well or sleep well, you're far, far less likely to be productive in whatever craft you're pursuing. You're more likely to give up on any given activity earlier than somebody who's checked off those previous two boxes. So the way I see it, by focusing on improving my health, I'm also going to improve my art.

I don't get this kind of concept art. What is it exactly for? As a illustration its nice but game concept art?
>>2542136
It's silhouette art, it's meant for coming up with a base design for a character.

are you stupid?
Some of you here must have experienced this.
You get a tablet.
You place the pen on the tablet.
The cursor shakes around like a motherfucker.
You try to draw a straight line and it looks like pic related.
Obviously I've tried all the fixes and useless "just update the driver" suggestions on Google. has anyone has this happen, and how did you resolve it?
Or could my tablet be old and busted?
It's an Intuos Pro Large.

You might jut be drawing too slow.
If not, then yeah, the sensors may have gone bust.

Try taking the nib out and putting it back in again?

Any tips on drawing armor? It seems like a lot of little things to do to make it whole.
>>2523803
Learn the basic pieces. Most armour is constructed in a similar way, they just vary slightly with shapes or decorative qualities.
>>2523803
>Any tips on drawing armor?
Draw and study lots of armor.
The same answer to all these lazy moronic "how i do dis?" type threads.
Make a colage of armor references so you don't have to play the stupid card designing what you ignore.
doing some sample pages of my art, wanted to get a crit if possible. be as harsh as possible

FAQ:
Something's broken, what do I do?
>The site is currently in the alpha phase of development and is being built around us as we compete so sometimes things go wrong. If you ever need any help send me a tweet @LavaFlake or shoot me an email [email protected].
What do we draw?
>Whatever you want. At this point there's no required topic so draw your heart out. Make sure you submit at least a half hour of work or you may get a low effort warning.
What's a low effort warning?
>The goal is to get people to draw every day by turning it into a competition. The low effort warning system is to prevent people from posting last minute, quick sketches when they're feeling lazy. If you receive a warning and it happens again within a month you'll be eliminated.
>This rule has been the cause of a lot of concern amongst newer artists so let me reiterate: this system is to police low effort content and has nothing to do with the quality of the work. New artists are more than welcome.
What happens if I'm eliminated?
>A new Last Artist Standing challenge starts every week. If you get eliminated then get it together and rejoin next week.
How can there be a new Last Artist Standing challenge every week?
>This is a way to let new artists join in and to allow re-entry for the eliminated. Every week a new challenge is started. If you joined on week 1 and make it to week 2 then your daily submission counts for both the first and second Last Artist Standing. If you get eliminated then you're eliminated from both challenges and you'll be able to rejoin next week.
Will I have an advantage if I join later in the week?
>The winner of a Last Artist Standing will be the artist with the longest streak. If you join on day 1 and last until day 85 then you'll have a streak of 85. If there's only one person left in the challenge when you're eliminated but they joined on Day 7 then they'll need to continue on for another week. If they're eliminated before then, you win.

Superb. I can tell by your stylistic execution that you were inspired by hotline miami.
Is there any advice you guys can give when it comes to making drawing cylindrical/spherical forms easier? Perspective wise? I'm getting slightly somewhere with cubes, but anything circular? Forget it, never comes out right
Spheres are always gonna be spheres at any angle.
Cylinders can be made slightly easier by putting the bases in squares that are in perspective.
Go to the sticky and read it.
>>2539296
Fuck off, faggot.
>>2539296
You have to draw them in a box. It's the only way.
Need help to draw this in black and white. I want that as an tattoo. so need it in black and white. Somebody that can help me?
Rule 3.
Sticky directs you right to the rules in big bold letters.
Name a price or fuck right off.
$30 ok? i have paypal
I need help with line art, every time i draw i sketch the piece out till i feel i should do the line art and once i finish i always feel that the sketches look way better. If anyone has suggestions or even the process they go about line art that would be awesome. Im also using Sai. (pic unrelated)
It's always infuriating when people make their own thread asking for advice and don't even provide an example of their work.
It's very hard to give you constructive advice besides "practice more" if we can't see what the hell you're doing wrong. What's your line weight like? How well are you showing form with your lines? Are they clean? Do they wobble? We don't know.
>>2543802
op is a shitposter who probably doesn't draw
hide and move on
>>2543802
Yeah i had to reformat my computer recently so all my sai files are lost. I wouldnt say my lines wobble cuz i spend like a good 10 -15 mins trying to get a line to look good. I do generally have issues with weight cuz i dont really know where to make the lines thicker or thinner other than when they intersect.
Any advice on how to make good album covers?
Would love some examples.
These are just some loose ideas im working on.
>>2543503
Bumping for interest. How do you get into the market for this? Are there forums for bands requesting work? Do you have to be friends with a bunch of awesome bands?
There's no "album cover" formula.
Work with the theme and mood of the album, and make something that looks cool. That's it.
Look at say the cover for veckatimest, and look at the cover for purple rain. Both great covers, nothing in common. There aren't even compositional rules.
What you've done so far is cool though.
IMO an album cover should be a visual parallel to the "feel" of the music, it doesn't need to be exact but you want colors and shapes that match the sound and rhythm. I'd prioritize being able to express different feelings over the image itself really. Also, I'd try to match technique to technique, if the music is super weird go for mixed mediums and try to keep up.
Drawing circles is hard. Would it be a bad habit to rely on the circle tool in krita?
How am I supposed to get better at drawing them freehand?
By drawing them
>How am I supposed to get better at drawing them freehand?
drop art if you have to ask this question
never gonna make it
>>2543028
If you're using computer-aided drawing already why not just do whatever is the fastest?
But as the other guy said, just practice drawing circles. Unless you're going for technical circle exact stuff, it would just be faster to sketch a circle. Not many things in an actual painting are perfect circles anyway, so your initial sketch doesn't need to be perfect.
post them.
