Not sure if this stuff is more /gd/ or what, but here it goes. Some schools require a work of about 20 or thirty works to prove that you have the talent for the creative/media/art/graphic design industry.
Here are 10 works of mine from my portfolio. I got accepted, but received no comments about it.
I wonder if you could get some comments here. What is good about? What style do I have?
Some parts of this are german, I live in Austria and made this in the art room of the psyche ward (will go out this year and then go to this school I was talking about)
Serious opinions/suggestions, please.
So I am purchasing my first tablet. I am new to digital art and I would like to know if this is a good buy or could I do better.

I am also confused about the size. Is this a small tablet or medium? Am I missing something? What would you recommend in this price range? I don't really have much more to spend on it. Is Wacom the way to go or am I making a mistake?
I've also seen Intuos Draw small for arond 60-70 and Intuos Pen and Touch small for $60.
says that it comes with drawpack which includes artrage software?

I'm a /b/tard, so please excuse any lack of etiquette. I rarely leave the comforting squallor of my pig sty. But I've something to discuss here that I obviously can't discuss there without weird shit being spammed in the thread.
I've recently been *EXTREMELY* upset at the Last Tango In Paris controversy.
Bertolucci has come out to defend himself against recent media articles, and I am of the *STRONGEST* opinion that, if at the end of the day it is considered true art (timeless art/expression) & it was consentual (as in 'no take back-sees' nonsense), then the sacrifices are not only worth it, but enrich us as a collective. Not just for LTIP, but art in general.
The use of butter in the sexual encounter in LTIP fell organic; real. Something that two consenting (well...somewhat consenting; watch the film) adults would use in such a situation.
It is one thing to claim gross mistreatment and abuse, and quite another to be revisionist. Being consistent about the way you live your life is key.
>Oh, that whole thing about me pursuing the limits of my artistic expression & wanting to make something timeless? After thinking about it a little, welp ... it was actually abuse and I feel hella raped. Please invalidate this art, its existence, and besmirch the legacy of X literary/auteur figure. kthxbye
If a director was telling a young actress to do weird shit, and/or was abusive to the actress with ZERO payoff ('Cannibal Holocaust' comes to mind), then the director is a shitlord & a wannabe People have mentioned Kubrick and Duvall in "The Shining". These people need to take a fucking seat.
The end result was a masterpiece. I don't begrudge the right of Duvall to say that Kubrick was a cunt, or whatever (Pro-tip: he was a turbo-cunt), but she couldn't say that the end result wasn't worth it. Her performance, just as Schneider's performance in LTIP, was part of the very soul of that masterpiece.
[2/2]
I don't doubt that such sacrifice, abuse, etc. can test a person to their limits (and the audience)...
But to fucking NEGATE the art once its been made, to NEGATE the people involved in the vision ... it makes me hate the human race, to be perfectly frank. Are we going to go back to burning books again? Huh? Is that where we go to now?
>Hey, guess what? Michael Jackson probably did a bit of pedo shit (not proven, not convicted) on the side. Guess we should never listen to his music again?
>John Wayne Gacy was a painter in prison; guess we burn his paintings? (oh wait, they did by and large...shit)
>etc.
Many of the people weighing in on this controversy are not only shitlords, their body of work is mediocre at BEST. AT *BEST*!
>Chris Evans
Name 1 all-time classic film he has acted in. Oh, that's right, he doesn't & will never have one, because he is not good enough to belong to that class of people. Literal trash. I'm sure he'll get his millions in Capeshit movies for the next decade, though.
>Anna Kendrick
Name 1 all-time...wait, gonna stop there. You already know! She has never, and will never, belong to that class of people. You won't even remember her name in 10 years, because she won't be acting in anything worth a god damn sheeeeeeeee-it.
>Jessica Chastain
Was apparently raped twice by Illuminati Hollywood Producer Man. Twice. Didn't go to court, though. I mean, ain't nobody got time for that! Trial by media FTW, amirite? Anyway, same as above applies, not a great actress but perhaps with some dedication & humility may allow herself to be a part of a project worth somewhat of a damn. And WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, that's drawing a long bow. Nothing she has done is memorable, she is not memorable (yet); completely forgetable.
So, what have we learned today? One, /b/tards should never be allowed on other boards. Two, try as you might to change history or malign people with an agenda, you can't negate art or ideas.

>Jessica Chastain
My error; I was refering to Evan Rachel Wood specifically.
Then again, Jessica Chastain - different actress, but still someone you would say "literally who?"
But. But. Chastain was not part of my little diatribe, I retract; I claw back the name.
>You're being revisionist
Goddamn I wish this site had an edit button sometimes....

Any tips for starting an ASMR drawing channel on YouTube?
Neumann U87, 6 inches away, slightly to the side, bass rolled off. Vilppu rhythm.

Pleb.
Also, there's more sense to use pair of small diaphragm condenser mics to achieve proper calrity and stereo image for ASMR

At that point you may as well stick a piezo to the paper.

What's the best way to get better at feeling the curvature of forms in perspective?
Once you hit a certain point, is that all that you can progress? Can you hit mastery on this? Is it important to try, or is it better to focus more on perspective?
How important is it to be able to accurately draw a line in 3D in a drawing?
It seems very important in anatomy.

Is it best to simply draw from the texturing of cylinders from life?
I keep drawing cubes in perspective, but it feels like I'm punching at a bag in the wind.
None of the gains feel concrete.
Is mileage as good as hard analyzing?
Your questions are weird, it all depends on what you want to do.
I'm trying to think of an artist /ic/, I think he was Italian, was popular in the 60s usually painted women and they were up close of usually they're underwear or of their stomach area. Anyone know? Google is failing me.
>>2767270
Milo Manara
>>2767270
Not italian, but McGinnis painted some nice 60's waifus
>>2767278
McGinnis is awesome indeed
I've had a Wacom Bamboo Fun like pic related for a good number of years and it's done the job well.
I'm considering upgrading to an Intuos Pro but would I feel a noticeable difference? I don't really have any frame of reference. I know it's 512 levels of pressure sensitivity vs 2048 on the Intuos Pro, but I don't know what the difference would be like in practice.
Anyone have experience of both?
By the way, I'm not interested in a Huion tablet. If you're that wee shit that spouts 'Jewcom' in every tablet thread then don't bother posting.
>>2767200
>pic related
>done the job well
No, it hasn't.
Literally get anything, the shittiest huion will be better than that piece of shit.
>>2767205
Have you used it?
I still go back to my old 2007 bamboo fun sometimes i love that thing. I upgraded to an intuos large and the extra tablet area lets me be a lot more precise but i dont really notice or care about the extra pressure levels

a box of assorted charcoals and a box of smooth newsprint will cost no more than 8-10 birtbongs here.
and if you can construct a cheap drawing horse that will hold your newsprint at a 45 degrees angle, nigger you are solid.
just grind it out for a year and reap.
>>2766343
Intuos Pro is pretty good. Industry standard right before Cintiq's came out.
It's good if youve been drawing digitally for a while and not a beginner. Otherwise, if its your first ever tablet dont waste your time, just grind like the other anons here have said.
If you're new to digital in general i'd start with a cheaper model, and once youve gotten a hang of things and gotten your bearings and can do stuff comfortably digitally, then by all means invest in this. It'll last a long time.
What is your go to tool for inking and why/
