Same guy from last time, I've scanned the entire Patrick Nagel artbook.

I would like to know how much progress should I be doing in a specific amount of time, lets say drawing a head. How much time would it take to learn to draw heads from every angle and so on? I know it is different for everyone but i have to be sure that i am not retarded.
>>2390083
stop learning how to draw heads
learn to draw a fucking box
>>2390124
This. I recommend drawabox™ for all your box needs.

But i have the issue with drawing heads in various angles.
I've been drawing since I was 10-ish and even then I noticed my hands shook uncontrolably. I have since refined my art to mask the problem, but my art is such a scratchy mess. Is there any way to at least help with this? I want to be able to draw a decent line without looking like Michael J Fox took over my tablet.
-practice placing two dots on a page and drawing a straight line between them, going over that same line several times, gradually moving from a few inches to all the way across the page. Make parallel lines at different angles
-maybe get a brush pen or a think black pen when you draw. You only get one line so you have to make it count.
>>2388464
that's kinda cute
>>2388464
From my own experiences, scratchy, fuzzy or just generally unrefined line work comes from a combination of not having a full understanding of what you're trying to draw (could you envision every form and detail?) and a lack of confidence and control of your ability to make marks.
Get some pens and try traditional medium for a while and like the other anon said do some drills and exercises in making lines and when it comes time to work on something every stroke should be deliberate and planned. It will take a while to get good at because it's something you need to constantly working on but in the end it will benefit you greatly. https://youtu.be/wgDNDOKnArk
So I just found a picture that i drew about 3 years ago when i was 20. It was at the height of my major depressive disorder.
I've been in denial up until now that I ever had one, only after looking at this do I realize how bad it got.
I hope this speaks to the right person, just know someone out there knows how bad things are for you and sincerely cares, artist to artist.

I had severe MDD for years, untreated (had prescription but didn't take it like a dumbass)
Now am 19 and probably over it irreversibly
Good luck OP, you're statistically unlikely to relapse but if you do get a diagnosis and meds
I need help recreating this into a better more cartoon-like logo. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. As you can see i can't draw shit.

That made me laugh my ass off! Yeah I understand that it looks like a lil kid drew it but I just really suck at drawing and it's a name i set on.
I dont know if these board can help but can anyone remove this watermark?

Thanks!
Do any of you know any good artists who combine traditional and digital?
I love sketching and linework but I don't want to color tradtionally, I like digital color but want to keep the same sketchy line feeling and damn I have no idea how.
Do people even do that ever?

mah nigga.
thank you

The part about works that are too visually perfect was interesting, spot on my thought but in more developed, thanks.
My first piece. Discuss
cool that you're experimenting with digital effects, maybe try out a really rigourous discipline like drawing or photography so you can understand how to construct meaningful images instead of just adding an affectation and expecting praise

thanks I needed that too and Im not even op
I found myself a new hobby, drawing. Few days ago I picked up a book titled "natural way to draw" by Nicolaides. Very praised book. First exercise is blind contour then gesture, all fine. Now i got to ex.3, called cross contour. And im confused. In the table it says "Ex. 3: cross contours (1 sheet of drawings)". How much is that? Can someone who read a book explain this, like how should this exercise look like? Thanks in advance
Op here. I should also mention I did read exercise 3 description. It just says that cross contours is when u look at the figure/object, u start from outter edge and imagine ure touching the form and u should go over the mass/shape of the object horizontaly, to the other edge so it shouldnt be straight line. So my questions are: how much is 1 sheet of drawings and should i first do blind contour drawing and then do cross contour (it doesnt seem logical, since blind contour drawing is totaly off, and drawing cross contours over that will be....weird, but still i need confirmation)?
Anyone? Cmon /ic/ if I dont get a reply i will quit drawing and murder myself. Blood will be on ur hands.
Is taking a break good for your brain muscle? After a few months of lifting I'll take a break for a whole week and come back even stronger. Does drawing work the same way?
>>2386865
I believe Sycra once said something about artistic progression. It was along the lines of, sometimes you'll be good, sometimes bad, sometimes REALLY bad, and in my experience, occasionally I'll come back from a break better than before. It's a rollercoaster. But yes, taking a break is goodd, you want to keep your passion hot, stoke its fire, don't let it burn out, etc.
It helps to do little things to stay 'up to speed', though, like contour dawing, shape, observational sketches from around the house, like you would in lieu of exercises. That is, stretches, yoga, light cardio, or whatever.
TL;DR Take a break. When you get fatigued mentally, your art suffers, then you do.
>>2386865
I'm not sure. Not comparable to lifting I think. If you are burned out though, it can be beneficial but in my experience was that it's mostly beneficial in the sense of refreshing your passion and creativity. It won't magically boost your technical skill level.
>>2389819
this is pretty much right, knowing the right time to stop as opposed to overworking yourself then cooling off for a week.
Also make sure you're getting good sleep, that's where most of your learning is consolidated
Are there any downsides for using illustrator rather and photoshop for paintings? I know illustrator is good for simple things that can be scaled infinitely.
Not sure if trolling or not...learn about the difference between vector (Ai) and pixel (Ps)
good luck painting with vectors you dumb faggot
>>2385323
You better have one fucking hell of a computer to paint with vectors.
Why is picasso so popular again?

he was on the cutting edge of art for decades, invented cubism, inspired countless artists, was a pillar of the modernist era, was alive through and participated in many different movements, and was perhaps the most prolific artist ever.
Does anyone here do sacred geometry or does anyone here have links for beginners?
thank you
Also, does anyone have torrents or videos they can provide to learn about drawing these shapes and getting deeper into the philosophy?
>>2389315
OP here
I want to learn how to draw the shapes. Is there any source that doesn't get all New Agey and start talking about that stuff?

Hold shift in Ps.

i found these spammed to a thread in /r9k/
i love them
they portray carelessness and depression, yet have a side of hope and wonder to them
its as if they come from the world view of someone who's trapped, yet sees their chance of escape and happiness.
you all may see them as trash, but if your willing to, look for the emotion within them
