I want to learn to draw little girls, because little girls are cute. For obvious reasons it is very difficult (and dangerous) to research anatomy regarding little girls (or any child.)
What are some tips that will help me learn this forbidden art?
>>2364594
just fucking find a girlfriend and make babies until you get a daughter you retard.
>>2364594
References and imagination.
Learn the female adult figure and go from it,
You can also go to a pool and take notes.
>>2364594
i get you're trolling, but also you're pointing to a valid issue in nowadays zeitgeist.
anyway, finding good reference for whatever subject is generally hard. and is part of the job.
Ok guys, vote.

Im trying to get the hang of it but i have zero patience. I either rush a drawing or never finish it.
uhm...but you just traced that.
I never got "styles". Why would somebody want to voluntarily be bad at drawing?
because when everyone draws realistically it gets boring
>>2387208
just a way to stay in the comfort zone for untalented people. Obviously there are many styles that actually take skill, but you see it right away. This one though is not one of them.
>>2387208
Style =/= drawing bad on purpose
It means to alter realism and most of the time it requires greater skill than simply realism
Claiming style for your lack of skill is voluntarily choosing to be bad at drawing
Know the difference it could save your life
>pic related
This image is stylized but it's very clear that the artist is very skillful and could have done the image realistically if they wanted to. But they wanted to do it like they did because it looks cooler
Sometimes style is done to speed up the process and it's fortunate that simplistic styles can look good if done well. Realism takes an awful lot of time and with the invention of photography like >>2387214 said, it's just boring.

im about to fucking kill myself.
im trying to paint in photoshop and every time i try to build up color/shade by laying down soft strokes a fucking DARK ASS full opacity stright line appears every few seconds and i have to go undo it in the history 40 fucking times a minute. its so distracting and fucking annoying. Im not sure if its my tablet or my photoshop. anyone know what the fuck is causing this shit, i cant work like this
>>2387060
Shit happens to me too sometimes unplugging/relugging the tablet helps but I have no clue why it happens.
Happened to me with my Wacom Cintiq 12WX. The solution? It's now in a storage unit a couple miles away and it will never see the light of day again. Sorry for your loss, OP.
If you're leaning on the shift key while using the brush tool, it'll create a straight full pressure stroke.
What is a good site to get legitimate help/critique that isn't this shithole, which does nothing but spam loomis and symbol drawing memes?
>>2381562
No one can legitimately help you get better, people can just tell you what you are doing wrong and show you the right direction. In your case, my guess is you are drawing in symbols and to fix it you need to study the basic fundamentals that you can find in many art books, including those written by Andrew Loomis.
It's clear that you don't want to hear this answer, but if you ever want to improve, you have to face the truth sooner or later. Or alternatively you can search the internet for this magical, super helpful art community that will solve all your problems and show you the magic trick how to git gud easily.
>>2381574
but I am not. And I have proved it, but this site is so full of symbol drawing shitposters theres no such thing as legitimate critique here.

Does anybody on /if/ go to school for industrial design or have any knowledge related to the field? I'm thinking about doing it but I'd like to know what you guys think.

i'm majoring in it (BSID)
don't have a ton of info on it since i'm in my first year (one semester down). planning to go into entertainment design someday down the road
I'm new to ic, let me know how terrible my art is. also I'm focusing on line art and anatomy right now.
>>2386473
this is really good! blog?
>>2386473
It's pretty butt right now yo but if you're determined and this is what you want to do then keep at it and you'll get there. Gotta try after all!
Also porn thread here: >>2376925
You'll get better advice on the topic there. Though you might want to visit the other threads like the beginner/draw/skeetchbook threads to get advice on how to improve.
>>2386478
Okay guys, I'm going fucking nuts here! Help me sort this out.
I'm pretty sure I'm living an example of the mandela effect which is pretty much the theoretical instance of conflicting memories from a parallel universe you previously inhabited before making a somewhat seamless transition to the current one you are inhabiting. It's mostly entertaining but there's some pretty interesting shit that isn't completely explained away by "muh false memories". For example, I distinctly remember Castro, Mandela and Teddy Graham all dying around 2008-2009 and then dying AGAIN or still being alive.
ANYWAYS
What does this have to do with /ic/? Well, I'll tell you.
(1/2)
I'm sure plenty of you are familiar with BonesofRuin, he's a delusional poster that likely has mental issues and is in general a terrible artist that enjoys starting shit and fellating himself. Well, he has a comic called Demon Juice. Make no mistake, this coming is AWFUL in every sense of the word. However, I've seen a comic before with that exact name. There was another guy that posted a bit on /ic/ around 2014 that had that same comic name. He was a little delusional too, but he actually was on the verge of having a little bit of success here and there. I read a few pages of his first two issues and what the rest of /ic/ was roasting him for was pretty accurate. His characters where cringey and his comic fundamentals were deeply flawed. He had a copy/paste "edgy cool kid" main character with spiky hair, some kind of Ferengi looking villain with horns and a tail. The story revolved around ancient amulets (so does BoR's comic). This other guy was a bit of an ass, but if he dropped the act and got to work he could have had something. The odd thing is, I can't seem to find any evidence of this guy's existence. When I first saw BoR on here, I said "hey, there's a guy with that same comic name". BoR repeatedly stated that he's been working on his comic for many years now and aggressively seeks out people who would copy or steal his work, especially any series with the same name. BoR even created revenge porn of a Steven Universe creator for "stealing one of his characters" and not giving credit and assured me that he had not had any run ins with another artist over such. I just find it so odd that I can't find this other guy or his comic. Even if he deleted his online presence I can't seem to find the images of his comics that I saved on my hard drive.
Can any other anons confirm?
I wouldn't be surprised if the first guy's comic name is insanely similar to "Demon Juice" but is just not close enough to render any results on google.
Perhaps the name was "Demon Jews?"

I'm planning a trip to Madrid and Rota, Spain next year. What must-see art museums or artistic points of interest should I see while I'm there?
>>2386266
You literally don't deserve to live for not knowing that the answer to your question always has been, and always will be 'Museo del Prado'.
I studied Rubens from life there.
>>2386295
by 'from life', I mean not from life but from the actual painting (lol).
I live in Madrid, where are you from? I could take you to El Prado and Thyssen
Anyone else from Spain here btw?
I don't know what to do with my art and I don't think at my current level I'm good enough. Pls?
>>2385850
draw a comic or some shit like that.
you won't notice that many flaws if you just
sketch random shit.
Have a goal to work towards.
nice hatching.
>>2385859
yeah, make a bigger work. whatever it is. draw something complete instead of just doodling. i'd be interested in seeing it.
>>2385885
Everything full sized and 'finished' I've made I don't like
Does anyone else think that /ic/ is actually a decent place for learning? I'll admit it, as much as I really do hate reddit, I do browse it for hobby-related subjects, and while it's usually quite informative (compare business, personal finance and investing forums compared to /biz/ jesus christ) /learnart/ for example is fucking shit and the worst qualities of reddit just converge to make it insufferable. I guess being anonymous and not having to be nice makes things better here, shitposting aside.
Also I think the format of 4chan is better, particularly when it comes to posting images, for talking art.
I do like it more than that shitty /learnart/. May as well be DA.
What's the point of this thread? To say we're better? What's the most we can get out of this thread?
