Hey /ic/. I'm planning on buying an instructional DVD with my tax return. I'm really into figurative work (mainly graphite and charcoal drawing) but I'm also trying to get my painting chops up. I've heard a lot of good things about David Kassan's "Painting a Life" DVD. Do you guys have any recommendations?

Doesn't he paint on aluminum panels? I was thinking about getting this as well.

Not really sure, but I know he was the guy who designed the ParallelPallette.
/IC/ I need inspiration for doing a lino print for my art class the theme is pop art/pop culture and I really don't know what I want to do.

So anons. Idk if any architect around but im studying architecture and im doing a building with stairs from the outside that lead to the top of the building so that people can come in from the street and go to the top of this building which works kind of like a public space but in a higher ground.
So, i was hoping you kind anons could help me out and pass me some references could it be either a specific building or an architect with this specific thing so i could inspire myself. Also any ideias are welcome.

the walkie talkie building was supposed to be like that, but the "public" space ended up needing a reservation and security check to get into. It doesn't work.

plenty of those in mexico, but they're inside enclosed areas, so no need of security checks.
And if you feel like it, share any other artbooks you may have

I'm too broke for film school, so I try to make my own videos, this is like an...'artistic' horror story. What do you guys think? Where can I improve? what am I doing right and wrong?
Also If you can check my other vids and help me become better I'd really appreciate it since I actually want to become better :)

Fuck you, you wasted almost three minutes of my life. If it's not a troll, PTSD flashbacks are unoriginal. And it's spelled "subscribe."
Are Prismacolor colored pencils the best you can get for this amount of money?
I've been practicing with cheap colored pencils, and now I'm ready for a better quality tool.
Prismas are good quality, blend well and are pretty opaque. just be careful not to break them. Faber-castel polychromos are an alternative, but the whites are a bit translucent.
There are also caran d'ache luminance colored pencils (pic related), but they're terribly expensive and apparently not that much different from prismas.
i have the 72 set, and they break alot, constantly sharpening them

I'm going here next year. My reasons are knocking off 4 years from the work visa requirement, learning some art, and having a small boost on the resume/portfolio.
It's a technical college and the program is only 2 years. Any recommendations on how to maximize my time there?
just 1 bump to see if anyone responds only 1 I promise :)
Does anyone know if there is a gallery of this kind of artwork on the web ?

>painting is easy and fun! look how easy it is to do those strokes and how beautiful they look!

And thats why everyone likes bob ross, he's the most talented artist to ever grace this planet.
>doesn't use easy mode traditional
>does everything directly on canvas with paint
>makes it look ridiculously easy
>all his drawings are absolutely amazing
name be a better artist, protip, you can't.

no idea. just reminds me of keith haring.
So I'm not sure if this is the right board, but I'm making a thing with shitty cute pictures and puns for my gf and I's one year bc she likes that shit.
So, so far I've had 2 problems, my pens suck and go out as I'm drawing, making the drawing look bad, and I draw on a separate sheet of paper and glue it inside of the book after I draw it to avoid fucking up the book, but I use glue sticks and it is hard to make the paper stick in permanently without it taking a lot of time and regluing that makes it look kinda bad.
So to finish up this project,
1. What pens do you reccomend
2. What method of gluing paper or construction paper to another piece of paper works the best? A glue stick could probably work find so if that's the best option, what's the best brand of glue stick?
Ignore all of the spelling errors, I'm in a rush
I use Loctite Super Glue Liquid. Sets fairly quickly. Just use a popsicle stick to smooth it out onto the paper.

9 WARMUP DOODLES, WIP, 3 MINUTES EACH, I DIDN'T TRY AT ALL LOL ;-P
boobies. boobies everywhere.
Could someone please tell me what this is called and what artist is it by?
It's just a study, Schiele didn't name his paintings anything special.
Anyways it's obviously by Egon Schiele, an Austrian painter.
Egon Schiele's art is weird but for some reason I like it a lot.
