Let's bring back work that invites criticism.

More like, came from my ass.
I started this, I think the proportion are not well.
What do you think of it ?
>>2420276
I think it's a good starting point if you are young. Stick with it.
>>2420283
I'm 18 actually, thank you btw
breasts look a little off. the center between the breasts does not align with the torso's center. they need to scootch over to our right.
>this is how paintings are made in the year 2016

only in digital trash.
Doesn't look that great to me, but if it works for the guy then whatever. I don't care if people are using the tools available to them and I'm not competing for a job in this market.
the second step looks much better.
the last step, what little spark there was has been sucked out.

Bump, interested in this. I know William Morris really pioneered a lot of that. I'll dump some refs __when__ I get out of bed :^)

Post your doodles/sketches that you make without thinking. Stuff you make during lectures and whatnot on your notes. for example. I find that they're an good stress reliever and drawing aimlessly can bring up some pretty new and interesting ideas.
I fucked up the nose

I'm embarrassed by how long it took for me to figure out what that is.

Heide knight?
I'm writing an essay on how Machiavelli would act and react in contemporary America. Our government, reputation as American people, history, and political strategies compared to what Machiavelli had written in The Prince.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm at a block.

Not OP. But that is the author of "The Prince". Machiavello.
so im trying to learn perspective, trouble is i have problems visualizing so i need the learning process to involve an area im intimately familiar with.
Which brings us to pic related<
just some random field where i placed three markers and took pictures.
Can anyone explain the Basic most Basics of perspectives (redundant, slow repetitive)
but using points ABC as you explain?
Like please someone just give me the full lesson plan, even go over shit you might think i already know. Like "objects get smaller as they get farther durr" seriously, don't assume i know shit, cause i don't when it comes to this.

Aint nobody got time for that.
Check out Perspective Made Easy by Norling.
What are you even trying to do with this point fuckery?
Just put horizontal line on the page, place a vanishing point, draw a square, draw lines from the corners to the square to the vanishing point.
If you're really confused an need a primer read this.

Op thats just pure autism.
What are the best art communities around today for sketchbooks, critiques, and high profile users? Is there anything on the level of old concpetart.org, or is the community just fractured and destroyed now?
Thanks.
(Artist is Yuriy Chemezov, by the way.)
I hope someone suggests something good.
This place sucks even worse than before
>>2418630
Well I saw that there is a group of people attempting to create CGhub 2.0 of sorts called CGplus, but the place is dead. It's just hard to find a good art community.
I went to DrawCrowd today, and there is anime porn all over the front page.
Private, smaller Facebook groups (not Level Up!) can be really great. The more niche the group, the better. Search for communities based on industry or subject matter.
Fantasy/sci-fi/concept art based groups tend to be full of drama queens & immature shitters - I don't know where to go for that. Other outlets of illustration (which /ic/ widely ignores) are still around - thought "digital painting" groups tend to be the most popular.
Absolutely nothing beats 1 on 1 feedback with a peer who you admire and respect (and is preferably better than you). Having someone you can shoot a WIP to and having them actually care enough to really give thorough feedback is invaluable.
I would never actually share any of my go-to communities on /ic/, and I advise anyone to do the same.

Fuck off, god I swear /ic/ is getting shittier
why do people think one of the slowest boards in 4chan is good place to promote themselves.
>>2418022
Checked out your gofund me and other links. your music isn't the worst, but the pretentious list of interests and super cringy bio are going to hurt you as much as your lack of talent.
get rid of the depressing backstory and focus on your skills. Most people's life sucks, you're not going to get money out of people by trying to play the part of the misunderstood genius/artist. You need to be WAY better than you currently are for that to work.
Also, maybe you shouldn't use a van gogh image to promote yourself as an artist. Hope this helps
Perspective guy back again. Still struggling with this idea of getting a perfect square in perspective. Different guides and people have been talking about running a line from the Station Point at 45deg from the lines drawn to the vanishing points.
But I get different results based upon where I put the station point. Is this correct? Are they all squares, just skewed by perspective?
From the guide I'm using
>>2417087
Sorry if I'm derailing your thread (I hope someone can answer your question for you) but what is the use for this? Is this one of those things you learn as a concept and kind of have in the back of your head or is there any merit to this when actually creating illustrations? It just seems a bit autistic and impractical
>>2417096
Your question is legit. I want to do more architectural drawings (it's the field I'm in). This guide has shown me how to draw things like arches in perspective, shrinking consistently into the background. I'm not sure how to draw the first one without winging it, though. Is it taller than it is wide? who the fuck knows
Can't even draw loomis. Where do I go to fix this shit?
>>2416989
This is just a matter of simple repetition
>>2416989
Practice drawing circles underneath each drawing first.
>cant loomis
>proceeds to post unpracticed loomis drawings.
