Anyone else love this 80s/90s retro style of fantasy art?
Something just nostalgic about it. It's awesome.
It reminds me of a time where people didn't care about being objectified or stereotyped. It allowed artists to create heroic men and sexy women in crazy fantasical environments and people just loved how awesome it was.
Nowadays you make a girl with large boobs and ass with a thin waist and you get hambeasts charging at you with their forks from dinner time.
Who the fuck wants the hero of a story to be some fatass when you can have an actual hero look fucking ripped and stand 9 heads tall.

Every creative/social movement is a reaction to the one preceding it.

What's the reaction gonna be from this one?
How can I make drawing architecture less boring?
I usually have to think a lot about perspective when I'm doing it and it kills my creativity.
Be imaginative?
More examples I like
Ive been learning how to draw for the last couple months and its been going well, but all my drawings are really boring and im unsure how to choose interesting scenes to draw. Are there any good resources on choosing interesting subject matter, themes, etc?

Being able to draw well is more important than what you draw. If you've only drawn a few months I'm sure everything you do is uninteresting.
If you are ever in Paris do take some time to visit the tennis court oath place. I've been after visiting Versailles, and even though you couldn't move for tourists there, Versailles' high street and the area with the oath room was empty except for locals. Now I've lived in France for 3 years but it was a cool place to visit and my friend who was only visiting Paris with me (he put out later grudgingly after I got him crepes and cider from a place in Versailles) appreciated getting away from all the foreigners.
You can begin to worry about that in ~2 years
How about nature. I never get tired of it.
My school is giving away free slides with high quality images of artists images.
So far, a lot of Contemporary stuff is sitting at the top, but the bag has 60,000 slides, and maybe there are some good things near the bottom. Should I see about taking them all?
Those seem interesting, but 60,000 of them seems excessive

There are some gems. Sargent's, Freud's, Henri Robert's, but there is a fuckton of modern art trash

A mix of both. I do love Dexter's Lab and Samurai Jack but he can be too flat for me at times.
He was good.

Never. Artists at that level will always be hired based on what they can offer to the company, not how cheap they can do their work. Especially when it comes to animation, where art direction, storyboards, character designs etc are the main reasons of what makes a movie successful.
No big company will ever choose to save a couple thousand bucks on hiring cheap artists while losing millions of $ due to an inferior end product as a result of that.

That fucking orange logo ruins a lot of images.
That image was ruined without the orange logo.

Hey /ic/ where do i start with animating something like pic related? Hanna-Barbera, low budget animation.
What programs do I use?
What format should i stick to? Is flash viable option?
How long would it take to create 1-minute animation with 2 different backgrounds and about 6 moving characters?
I have posted in on /co/ but they are just quoting karl pilkington.
>inb4 you do that too
Bit uh a pickle yer in, innit?
Adobe Flash is a good start. Look up some tutorials on how to accomplish what you want. As for how long it would take, it's difficult to say. What are the 2 backgrounds? What are your two characters doing? It could take anywhere from a day to a week, depending on how good you want to make it. Animation is arguably one of the most time consuming and least rewarding work processes ever, meaning it requires a lot of patience.
This is of course assuming you've got a tablet and know how to draw.

yes

For someone with no experience whatsoever? Months.
How do you draw from imagination? I can draw or paint anything in front of me and make it look like a photo on paper. I can't however draw anything that's not in front of me or without reference. I can't do anything really imaginative or otherworldly---no dragons or hot babes in from Heavy Metal. Any exercises or tips to fix this?
