Take this abstract art masterpiece, rotate it, flip it, do whatever.
See an interesting shape? Draw it out.
Or add to something that another guy made.
Takes like 15 mins outta your busy schedule to contribute

Feel free to fuck around with the color as well.

It's good that you're focusing on fundamentals, but don't forget to do the things you like.
Art progression isn't as linear as we often like to think.
>>2437263
sure, but the things I would like to do require a good amount of skill

Can somebody explain to me how to draw certain textures(like the wood and stone in pic related)?
>>2440176
What medium is that and who is the artist?
>>2440191
Google "la maison du saumon chartes"
Should I fight a war to draw like that?
I just made a painting of my favorite anime character
critique me please
>>2440110
made me laugh.
I like it desu
I like how you actually drew in the eyes this time
How do you know when you're done with a painting or illustration? I have a problem of 'finishing' an illustration but then going back later and adding / changing things. This could happen 2, 3, 5 times. How do you know when to just leave it alone and that its at its best? Also does anyone else have a problem of making variations of a drawing, and not being able to decide which you like best? How do you overcome that?
You just either
A.Know
B.Get sick of it
or
C. Be sick of it, but proud knowing it was at least close to what you wanted to acheieve, so next time you do something like it, you'll have learned from your mistakes.

Kill yourself.
This isn't bait but alright then.
I don't know how /ic/horas rolls with this, I've never seen this board before. Post your favorites and your opinions anyways.
Basically I'm just being inconsiderate, making a thread asking for tattoo ideas.
I'm a tree-hugger hidden hipster, so once you finish hating me you can contribute. Or just call me a fag and leave, take your pick.
>>2440021
stop killing good threads with your useless shit, lurk before posting on a new board
that should be a general rule for all boards
>>2440023
I do lurk, I'm not new here. I am an artist and I can't think of any other boards that would have good taste with this stuff
A bit offtopic, but does anyone know of any artists similar to Yusuke Kozaki? I really love the realistic animu look and am interested in finding more styles like his.
Who is this semen demon?
>>2439206
redjuice has a similar artstyle
Whomever did the Capcom vs SNK 2 SNK style art was fantastic.
How long have you been really drawing? As in taking art more seriously than art class in school.
About 17 years I think
>>2439036
Took my first proper art class when I was 14. Gesture drawing. Didn't know shit about the subject, and I was the only one there who wasn't old enough to have grandchildren.
Started preliminary artscool at 18.
So there somewear I suppose. Can't pinpoint the exact moment.
I would say about 1 year. I've always been drawing before but only last year did I actually start to actively study and focus on improving. It's still just a hobby for me tho, I needed a replacement for piano because I moved and no longer have easy access to a piano every day (makes me extremely sad since I have put 15 years into that).
On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate a job as an american animator in terms of:
-how stressful is the work environment
-pay
-job security
-dental plans
>>2437674
goes something like this, not really but I just wanted to show this vid.

How do you redesign a classic costume?
not like that
just like that

By making it exactly the same but adding weird sphincter eyes.
When writing stories I'm okay with writing characters and I can be very descriptive with setting, but I really struggle deciding on a setting when the story is grounded in the real world. I'm currently writing a script for a comic taking place in the United States about 20 years after the beginning of the Vietnam war. Drawing a lot of influences from things like Hotline Miami and Mirror's Edge, in terms of plot and aesthetic(leaning more toward, with the free running of ME). Somewhere with moderately tall buildings and a lot of tight spaces. I also wanted to blend religiously inspired architecture with 80s lights and the sort. Palm trees optional. Basically I need a city. I'm hesitant to use places like Miami, LA, NY, just because I feel like I could do better. What're some places that'd make a good setting for this kind of story? What are some real places you'd like to see in fiction?
india? são paulo? Brazilian urban places are a good replacement for cities like the ones you said + beaches

Do you faggots have your monitor calibrated ?
How does one calibrate a monitor properly ?
You use one of these.
I don't really see a point unless you're doing work that requires absolute color accuracy and have control of the output, in the case of print. Most good monitors already come decent out of the box.
I can't seem to find any information about precise "good" gamma
