In my history class we barely learn about China and japan. Can u guys show me some cool Samurai, shoguns, etc. Also so many samurai manga that i read talk about blind samurai but i cant seem to find any notable ones
>>1882607
>blind samurai
That's the Zatoichi trope.
Watch Hyougemono for Japan, and Three Kingdoms (2010) for China.
that's a pretty broad question, can you be more specific
blind samurai's katana folded 1 million times
The institution of marriage is dead.
Shifts in socioeconomics and culture in modernized countries have destroyed it.
Why do people cling to such broken idea?
>>1882466
The institution, yes. The idea? No.
Segregation of church and state.
>>1882466
I'm not sure what you are asking. Why do people cling to most things?
What do you propose as the alternative?
>>1882466
I wouldn't say it's dead. A lot of people still want to have a monogamous long-term relationship.
Does environmental determinism have any validity anymore?
>Does environmental determinism have any validity anymore?
>>1882109
Nope. Severely btfo by history and common sense.
Take this one: men in harsh climes create civilizations. While Junglefaggots aren't inclined to do so because muh food is available everywhere.
Doesn't really answer India or Southeast Asia and honestly sounds like a theory someone who hasn't lived in a Jungle made up. In addition it doesn't take on several factors such as meme jungle tribes growing in population and necessitating more organization.
The way societies lived is determined more than their meme environment. I'm not saying that the environment has no major bearing on human societies - it fucking has- but it doesnt take into account other factors such as population growth, culture of a given group, the influence of other societies, nor random fucking chance.

give my legions to anyone but varus

I don't understand the point of revisionist history
What does it matter?
What does it matter if the holocaust didn't happen, you can't uncreate the state of Israel.
What does it matter if the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki weren't fully justified, you can't unbomb Japan.
What's the point?
NoThInG MaTtErS DUUUUDE WHOAA
>What does it matter if the holocaust didn't happen, you can't uncreate the state of Israel.
you can uncreate the holocaust, and then after israel is gone, someone else can uncreate it.
>What does it matter if the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki weren't fully justified, you can't unbomb Japan.
after sufficient time passes, a historian may be able to unbomb it.
what's the point of unrevised history?
>>1881986
>why does it matter that we don't write down the actual truth so in one thousand years people in the future can actually know wtf happened
Are you a retard?
what's so great about the Mona Lisa?
>>1881952
The very fact you're making a thread about it should tell you how great it is
>>1881961
there's a whole board devoted to pictures of cartoon ponies, i don't think that's a very convincing line of argument desu
>>1881952
Can't fap to it. into the trash it goes
Wtf when did this get here?!
>>1881905
What do the highlights mean?
>>1882011
I think it's EU membership.
>>1881905
Seceded from the Netherlands at the same time as Belgium
What really caused the revolution? Was it really just a newspaper article protest that got out of hand?
>>1881859
I wonder who could be behind this foreign coup....
>>1881916
>being absolutely retarded
Yes, the CIA overthrew the pro-US shah in favour of the Ayatollah. Strategic genius.
The previous government had been installed by pic related and it blew back pretty awesomely

This channel (The Great War) is one I highly recommend for those who are interested in the First World War, he goes through the war on all fronts week by week on what happened, as well as giving information on life in the trenches and for soldiers during the war.
>>1881845
This channel feel to Lindy Beige tier when they made that video about the myths of WW1 in which claimed that Germany was innocent in starting WW1 and that Versailles was harsh
They're a meme channel now
>>1881860
here's your (You)

>This channel feel to Lindy Beige tier when they made that video about the myths of WW1 in which claimed that Germany was innocent in starting WW1 and that Versailles was harsh
To be fair Versailles put the country into a depression that caused many to die of starvation which would only cause more discontent against the Allies among the German people, obviously fueling a second war
>In the US, circa early 1800s, there was a movement to resettle American free blacks and freed slaves to Africa
>By 1867, more than 13,000 Black Americans had moved to Liberia
>They intermarried largely within their community, developing an ethnic group that followed western cultural values(political republicanism, Protestant Christianity, western education)
>They did not identify with the indigenous Africans of the tribes they encountered at all
>Instead they saw them as inferior and tried to force them to assimilate to western culture
>In the earlier part of the 20th century, A economic policy was implemented to attract foreign investment
>Between 1944&1970, the value of foreign investments increased two hundredfold.
>From 1950-1960, Liberia experienced an average annual growth of 11.5%
>With the expansion of the economy, revenues from the government was utilized to construct and modernize infrastructure
>the streets of the Capital were paved, a public sanitation system was installed, hospitals were built, and a literacy program was launched
>several thousand kilometers of roads were built, as was a railway line to transfer iron from coastal mines for export.
>The Port of the capital was also transformed into a free port to encourage trade.
>By the early 1960s, Liberia began to enjoy its first era of prosperity, thanks to the policies put in place and the efficient use of resources to implement postive development.
>Liberia had earned the reputation of being a pro-Western influence in West Africa
WTF HAPPENED?????? THEY WERE FINALLY GETTING IT RIGHT????
30 years of war.
>>1881378
BUT WHY, THEY WERE SO CLOSE TO SUCCEEDING! THEY FINALLY ADOPTED WESTERN CULTURE AND APPLIED IT PERFECTLY!
>>1881389
>Adopted Western culture
They were Western, that's like saying Australia adopted Western Culture.
He was right, you know.
Being right is a spook
Being correct is a spook.
Being is a spook.
Why does nobody every talk about the Eastern Front in WWI?
there weren´t much trenches there, armies had more space
>>1881186
The western front lasted the whole war, so I believe that's why it gets the most coverage. Still deserves attention.
>>1881186
Because it was all sorta nullified
The front ended because Russia had a couple revolutions and the government backed out
But all the gains Germany made as a result were overruled when they lost in the West
also Russian logistics are cringeworthy to talk about
The best dressed armies always lose in the end.
Literally prove this theory wrong.
Hugo Boss did not design the German uniforms.
>>1880881
Yep. He only produced them.
German uniforms in WWII were just evolutions of previous German/Prussian military attire.
They did look great though.
>early-middle roman soldiers
>/fa/ as fuck, beautiful red and gold colours, cool matching rectangle shields, glorious feathers on the head
>undefeated
>late roman soldiers
>dressed like absolute niggers, boring round shield, boring uninspired armors and helmets, no feathers
>lost and died
yeah no
So I recently watched a series of videos from a guy with about six subscribers on Youtube. He was a very conservative Christian guy talking about how upset he was about the state of the world. In some of his videos, he would say that Jesus' return is imminent, definitely in our lifetimes.
I'm curious, for how long has this claim been made? Are there quotes or documents going way back of people saying Jesus will be showing up again any minute now? I've found such statements to be pretty common, but I can't seem to find out if there was a recent boom in this shared belief.
Lindy Beige is cancer
