No, it was the Weimar Republic's decision to deliberately induce hyperinflation and tank their currency in order to devalue their war debt that did that, when it was well within their means to pay said reparations at face value.

The Germans had imposed proportionally harsher reparations on the French after the Franco-Prussian war, and was occupied by German forces until they had paid the bill in its entirety. Meanwhile, Germany literally crashes its own currency to get out of paying and then bitches and moans when the French decide to occupy the Ruhr. In the end, thanks to American mediation, the Germans paid practically none of their reparations.

Nope, if only tht were the case. Pamphlets of the fourteen points were being printed and handed out all over Europe before he even arrived in France. Dude had a Messiah complex and imposed his own moral doctrine on every facet of the negotiations. His influence was enough that Germany didn't get split up into a few different states, but not enough that they had a giant indemnity imposed on them. It was pretty much Clemenceau vs Cuckdrow Wilson and what happened was a compromise that planted the seeds for war. Seriously fuck self-determination

Except that the Russians actively encouraged the Serbians to accept Austro-Hungarian demands and de-escalate the situation.
