Most Iranian women lived in poverty during the 1970s. Who cared for those women? Westernized intellectuals? Communist parties? No, it were religious institutions who took care of poor people. Then don't blame poor people when they follow religion if you ignore them.

Also if we didn't support Saddam in the Iran/Iraq war then the Kuwait war wouldn't have happened.
