>While the detachable air reservoir was capable of around 30 shots it took nearly 1,500 strokes of a hand pump to fill those reservoirs. Later, a wagon-mounted pump was provided. The reservoirs, made from hammered sheet iron held together with rivets and sealed by brazing, proved very difficult to manufacture using the techniques of the period and were always in short supply.
>In addition, the weapon was very delicate and a small break in the reservoir could make it inoperable. Finally, it was very different from any other weapon of the time and any soldier using it needed to be highly trained.

With the advent of narratives where the listeners are in on something the character isn't, and this discrepancy is important to the experience of the story. So probably ever since stories.

Tell me about the Indians of the Southwest.
Why are Arizona and New Mexico so heavily Native? Was there really a stark cultural divide between settled Indians like the Pueblo and raiding Indians like the Apache?
Did Southwestern Indians live in permanent houses before European contact? What clothes did they wear before the Spanish came?
>>1873469
>Was there really a stark cultural divide between settled Indians like the Pueblo and raiding Indians like the Apache?
Yes. The Pueblo-dwelling Indians had agriculture. They grew corn and even had peach orchards. Contrary to what certain edgemeisters think is revealed truth, agricultural societies generate much greater food surpluses much easier than the Stone Age hunter-gatherer variety, like the Apache, who were also so murderously violent that 'Apache' is actually the Navaho word for 'enemy.'
>Did Southwestern Indians live in permanent houses before European contact?
Hell yes. Google Mesa Verde.
>>1873487
Apache and Comanche were both semi-nomadic people who cultivated crops

Tell me about MacArthur.
Did he accomplish what he set out to do? Was he shit? What's /his/ opinion on him?
He was a better politician than general.
He botched the defense of the Philippines.
He did a pretty good job with the occupation of Japan.
Truman did the right thing by firing him before he could start WW3.
Cock sucking poofta cunt

>He did a pretty good job with the occupation of Japan.
MacArthur was an imbecile in Japan. He should have called out Hirohito for the war criminal he was.

Iron crosses aren't worth a huge amount, so the reproductions are generally cheap and far from perfect. The main thing to check is if it's magnetic, as it's not worth it to make reproductions from iron/steel. Secondly the black part is a separate piece to the silver frame, so you should be able to see this or slip paper into the crack, reproductions are generally single piece castings.
It's worth about £60-70 if condition is good, but yours looks like it has s reproduction ribbon.
