What is /his/'s opinion on the British?
>>1906222
They are arrogant.
>>1906235
I'm still considered new here since I have only been lurking for about 2 months but it seems to me that the vast majority of Brit related posts are from Francaboos or Wehraboos trying to bait responses out of Brit posters.
Brits are arrogant on /int/, I find that most posts on here are just people who are venting because some guy with a British IP on /int/ said his country is shit.

Fun fact: Tolkien fought at the Somme and had the working manuscript for "The Hobbit" with him all through the war

>hitch hiking in the usa was viewed as perfectly safe if a bit adventurous mode of travel well into the 70s; teenagers used to spend summers hitch hiking up and down the us just for the fun of it
>now it's not only illegal but viewed as a guaranteed way to end up in Cletus's rape & torture dungeon
wtf happened?
Kids hitchhiking for adventure was only really a phenomena in the 60's and 70's. Before then it was usually seen as disgraceful as you were probably out of work or a hobo and generally looked on as trash in society or distrustful.
Also if you don't think deaths and rapes didn't happen more back then you're kidding yourself. It's just now people began to report these disappearances more often and usually people who became hitchhikers in the 70's and 80's came from caring families who actually missed them.
Also media plays a huge part on shaping our perceptions on hitchhiking but ONLY reporting the deaths and disappearances that happened.

Too much to explain in one post. So we'll just say it was a progression of society or as my wife's son puts it "Its just a phase mom."

Do you consider the Second Sino-Japanese War to be part of WWII or a separate war entirely?
>>1904826
Fuck of with these /b/ tier threads
>>1904826
That depends entirely on whether or not Japan was considered part of the Axis at that time.
I generally wrap it into the second world war once 1941 rolls around, since that's the point when the western allies ended up at war with Japan.
and his books on the eastern front?
Glantz is one of the leading western historians on the eastern front. His stuff is solid.
Yeah, I've been reading his book about the battle of Smolensk.
>>1904759
His methodology is great.
Personally, I can't stand the way he writes myself, I find myself bored. It's amazingly informative, don't get me wrong, but I really have to force myself to read his stuff as opposed to it flowing naturally.

who is this smug pepe?
Everywhere I look, people call him one of the greatest military generals in all of history, but what did he actually accomplish on the battlefield? Beat some barbarians? Any Roman general at that time could have done the same. His most long lasting accomplishment was getting stabbed, which led to events that led to the end of the Roman Republic, though it was already heading in that direction to begin with, especially due to Sulla's faggotry. Why is Caesar such a household name, when he realistically isn't that noteworthy of a historical figure?
>>1904386
He walled a bunch of Gauls in their own city and waited.
>>1904386
Ever heard of the civil war against Pompey? Beating a fellow Roman who has considerably more resources to fling into the kettle than you do isn't easy.
Although, to be fair, he does have something of an exaggerated reputation as a purely military man. I'm not even sure I'd put him in my top 5 Roman generals, let alone tops of everywhere.

Hadrian's Wall seems to be a perfect border between Britain and Scotland. Were the British more civilised because they were occupied by the Romans while the Scottish maintained their barbarian culture?
Picts were the natives, Scots came from Ireland, Anglo-Saxons settled the South-West
They made up modern Scotland
The Scots ARE British you tool

When have the Chinese ever cooperated with non-soviet European countries in an armed conflict, or alternatively fought against another country and decisively won? The only accounts of military conflict with foreign forces are ones where they get blown the fuck out by European countries.
