I'm still considered new here since I have only been lurking for about 2 months but it seems to me that the vast majority of Brit related posts are from Francaboos or Wehraboos trying to bait responses out of Brit posters.
Brits are arrogant on /int/, I find that most posts on here are just people who are venting because some guy with a British IP on /int/ said his country is shit.

Kids hitchhiking for adventure was only really a phenomena in the 60's and 70's. Before then it was usually seen as disgraceful as you were probably out of work or a hobo and generally looked on as trash in society or distrustful.
Also if you don't think deaths and rapes didn't happen more back then you're kidding yourself. It's just now people began to report these disappearances more often and usually people who became hitchhikers in the 70's and 80's came from caring families who actually missed them.
Also media plays a huge part on shaping our perceptions on hitchhiking but ONLY reporting the deaths and disappearances that happened.

Personally, I can't stand the way he writes myself, I find myself bored. It's amazingly informative, don't get me wrong, but I really have to force myself to read his stuff as opposed to it flowing naturally.

Everywhere I look, people call him one of the greatest military generals in all of history, but what did he actually accomplish on the battlefield? Beat some barbarians? Any Roman general at that time could have done the same. His most long lasting accomplishment was getting stabbed, which led to events that led to the end of the Roman Republic, though it was already heading in that direction to begin with, especially due to Sulla's faggotry. Why is Caesar such a household name, when he realistically isn't that noteworthy of a historical figure?

Ever heard of the civil war against Pompey? Beating a fellow Roman who has considerably more resources to fling into the kettle than you do isn't easy.
Although, to be fair, he does have something of an exaggerated reputation as a purely military man. I'm not even sure I'd put him in my top 5 Roman generals, let alone tops of everywhere.
