What does /his/ think of Jung?
>>1899701
Pseudoscientist and kook, of the sort that have existed since the days of the snake oil salesmen. His "work" has zero (0) scientific merit and he was instrumental in the creation of the modern "New Age" mysticism.
>>1899774
[citation needed]
I like his views on religion. The idea of Gods and Platonic forms as psychological archetypes is spot on.
>>1899774
>considering scientific merit as the sole criteria of worth
Regard thinkers like him and Freud as philosophers and you'll be fine.
How the fuck did the Persians lose?
>>1899483
Persia's military tactics revolved around the deployment of mass light infantry backed by cav and archers.
Needless to say they were kinda stumped when facing against Greek Hoplites, who were by their very nature a heavy shock infantry force
very carefully
>>1899497
Yeah but the Greeks were a bunch of boy lovers, while the Persians were battle hardened conquerors.

The Ottomans were more Roman than the HRE ever was.
Why didn't they just get an internship or attend a networking event?
Reagan wasn't around then to teach them to pull themselves up by their boot straps.
the should have just taken a small loan of a million dollars

First, we need to recognize that we are constantly evolving, everything is at a constant rate of change.
Now that is out of the way, we need to understand the power of suggestion.
The conscious mind can accept suggestion and it can reject suggestion, the subconscious mind however cannot reject suggestion. The subconscious can be filled with good information and therefore have postive results, and be filled with negative information causing suffering and negative results.
When information is repeated, we form paradigms. When we are being hammered with negative thinking, our perception reflects negative thinking. Think for example many of the content on websites like this; how often does a place like this cause you to have negative attitudes towards the world, spiritual concepts, people, groups, etc. Feeling sad because people hammer you with insults on your perfectly valid ideas, or looking at threads with these twisted perceptions; all to subliminally try to get you to think a certain way that benefits "them" and does not benefit you. What good comes out of it?
To defeat this negative thought and action pattern, we need to reinforce the mind with repetition of postive thoughts, thinks that bring good energy. Thinks like reading, excersise, quietly sitting, all can help us find better sources for more positive attitude.
>16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
Every day we have the power to transform our inner being, even if our outward body is impermanent, our inner being has the ability to impact change for the benefit of our self and others.
>>1899300
Basically; the video in the OP is saying
>since we were babies we are being programmed like a computer almost
>build up patterns of thoughts can rule our actions without us consciously thinking about it
>reprogram subconscious mind to overcome opposition of negative thought patterns
In other words, we get so caught up in these reactive states that we aren't even conscious of our own reality
>>1899313
These "programs" are sent to us all day. When we watch the news or mTV, we are being programmed, mind controlled. If you take a teenage girl watching mTV, it is almost guaranteed her personality will reflect a character on one of the shows, and her attitude and focus in life will be on boys, sex, drugs, and drama.
It is no different with us. We watch too many YouTube videos that subliminally send us to hate one religion, before we realize it, we start meme-ing the same information all over the internet. One angry youtuber says something mean about God, everyone jumps on the wagon because the ability to discern is gone, and the reactive process to spout out that other person's idea becomes this other persons action

Were you not conditioned to think of these things as negative? Does skepticism not prevent pain?
>Things like reading, exercise, quietly sitting,
Have you not been conditioned to think of these things as positive? How do you know that everyone will benefit from reading, and what is "good" reading?

Was this memer basically an anarcho-primitivist?
>>1899286
Yes.
Kimmer Rogue was Ted Kashinski's dream.
>>1899286
Full on
>>1899286
You could argue that he would've agreed with a lot of the ideas and arguments behind anarcho primitivism, like the corrupting nature of technology.
But IIRC the APs generally argued that agriculture was the root cause of all these problems, whereas Pol had a huge agriculture boner
So I was working on a double-major with Medieval Studies and Accounting, and my uni just totally reworked when Accounting classes are offered with no warning, and it looks like I can't both graduate on time and hold my Accounting major. If I just go Medieval Studies, what sort of jobs should I be looking at, and what are they like? Also, recommend grad school or no?
>what sort of jobs should I be looking at, and what are they like?
you guys wanna tell him or should I?
Outside of teaching and maybe working at museums, there aren't gonna be a whole lot of choices available to you. Your best bet is to probably wait for your Accounting major and focus on getting money and becoming economically stable right now.

Was Wilhelm II the Napoleon of the 20th century?
>>1899124
> He took a country in the throes of acute fiscal crisis and social unrest and made it the dominant power in Europe
> He reformed the government; and he transformed the very idea of what politics could be and man could do
>an acute sense of destiny
Close, but it was someone else
>>1899124
Yes, he was the Napoleon (III) of the 20th century.
>>1899124
Nope
He was a major autist though
I was reading a book called "poporul nemuritorilr" ( the undying people) by Constantin Virgil Gheorghiu which is a book about the Dacians. In the first part of the book it mentions the scythian invasion and occupation of Dacia. It talks about how the scythians dissapeared after ruling dacia for 100 years simply because the scythian women would have children with the slaves as opposed to the scythian men, it also goes to mention how the scythian men were incredibly effeminate and that is why their society declined despite being great conquerors. Are there any other sources on the Scythian civilization that mention this as the reason for their downfall?
>>1899098
>steppe barbarian head-hunters being cucked
yeah sounds like bullshit
Were Scythians proto-Swedes?
>>1899105
The book does mention that they were very brutal and powerful, however they were afflicted with the "curse of femininity" as Herodotus called it. It is wierd that after 100 years they just dissapeared from Dacia without a fight.
What were the best battles in terms of strategy /his/ ?

>The Persian and Indian cavalry in the center with Darius broke through. Instead of taking the phalanx or Parmenion in the rear, they continued towards the camp to loot. They also tried to rescue the Queen Mother, Sisygambis, but she refused to go with them.
Can anything be justified under egoism?
Stirner seems to acknowledge sentimentality, and pretty much anything can appeal on a sentimental level. Would following something out of this, even if it's usually considered contrary to self-interest, be within self-interest if it tickles that sentimental part of you and makes you feel good?
I'm mainly asking because the way people talk about egoism is as if it's an idealogy rather than simply a way of viewing the world.
>>1899060
>justified
Spooky.
>>1899060
It's not an ideology. You may live according to your self interest only because you aren't required to live in the interest of an authority.
How popular were these swords and what was their use/purpose?
They were often used by swordsmen for sword fighting
>>1899036
Swords as primary weapons rather than sidearms.
>>1899036
Swinging in an upwards figure eight could break apart pike formations, but after they got in there they'd usually drop it and start swinging with an axe or mace. Thats one way people used them atleast, the spanish had ones made for self defense.
What do you think of Japanese Empire before ww2?
>>1899003
too few battleships. More battleships!
>>1899003
Aggressive bullies who expanded their power by enslaving their weaker neighbors. So basically just like every historical empire.
Their biggest mistake was starting a war with the US.
Things seemed to be going well but there were serious political and economic problems that bubbled to the surface after the great depression.
