>WWI ends, Germany to pay reparations
>they pay for 1921
>they can't pay for 1922
>ask for a break and a loan to recover, will pay later
>USA agrees, France mad
>in 1923 France invades Germany to get the money by force
>Germany not allowed to defend itself because she isn't allowed a big army and the area is demilitarized
>French and their Belgian stooges move over 120000 soldiers into the industrial heart of Germany
>the German economy suffers immensely from that area not being under their control, all the coal and steel mines are there
>French soldiers kill over 130 young German workers who refused to work for the illegal French occupation
>this was allowed to go on for two years, absolutely destroying German economy, because British and Americans didn't want to hurt Entente relationships and lose France to the USSR
Can we all agree that the French are the official "bad guys" of the interwar period?
When you consider the damage done on their own turf you can understand why the French wanted to secure some delicious industrial land right on their border
>You can trust a country that has invaded you twice in the past 40 years
The French were right to be skeptical of the evil Teutons.
>>2294748
Are you excusing organized military invasion against a disarmed opponent without declaring war with the goal of stealing taxes and killing civilians to achieve it?
Need I remind you that according to international treaties, during Germany's disarmament period, since they weren't allowed a large enough army to defend themselves, France was meant to defend them?
Why does Islam dislike humor?
Also general /his/humor thread
>>2294383
Humor can't be subject to control, or used to control people.
Name me one example of humor being used as a method to control people to the same extent as fear.
>>2294393
i half agree with you... but look at the pandering garbage that is late night with john oliver
i know its subjective but i think that's a good example of, even if by accident, humor doing a good job of swaying public opinion
Satire relies on challenging the status quo and the powers that be. It's a healthy part of speech and expression in a free society but is suppressed in authoritarian ideologies (including the worldview advocated by militant Islamists) for that reason.
>>2294408
Oliver's show started decent but got stale quickly. It's mostly preaching to the choir. Stewart was better.

Is Christianity the single biggest contradiction in history?
>>2293194
Most religious texts contradict themselves. However, I do believe that the mental gymnastics involved in trying to convince people that Islam is peaceful are quite impressively contradictory and stupid.
>>2293203
Christians don't claim that though, at least not to the same extent. or use that as a title for anything

>>2293044
Aesthetically Gladius is one of my least favorite swords but it did do its job when used with (and against) a large shield, which is how it was intended to be used.

Will people 200 years from now, when they look back at history, think of Hitler or Stalin the way we now think of Napoleon or Gengis Khan? I mean it in the way of thinking of them as just some important historical characters as opposed to evil incarnate their contemporaries and their immediate successors saw them as, completely emotionally detached from the evils they did while alive.
>>2292170
>Stalin
Probably. He's pretty much reached that point for everyone except the American right.

(((They))) aren't going to allow that.

Emperor Wu of Han drove the nomads out of their homelands and set off a chain reaction of tribes moving west. By the time they reached Europe, the likes of the Huns were at the forefront, but Rome was going thru a weak period and was unable to fend them off, much less drive them back.

Why are norwegians such thieving little cunts? Trolls, Näcken and Tomtenissar are all Swedish, yet they try to claim it as theirs as well.
Norwegians also steal our national animal, the elk/moose, despite them barely having any moose living in their country
T. Swede.
>The assimilation of the nascent Scandinavian kingdoms into the cultural mainstream of European Christendom altered the aspirations of Scandinavian rulers and of Scandinavians able to travel overseas, and changed their relations with their neighbours. One of the primary sources of profit for the Vikings had been slave-taking. The medieval Church held that Christians should not own fellow Christians as slaves, so chattel slavery diminished as a practice throughout northern Europe. This took much of the economic incentive out of raiding, though sporadic slaving activity continued into the 11th century. Scandinavian predation in Christian lands around the North and Irish Seas diminished markedly.
>The kings of Norway continued to assert power in parts of northern Britain and Ireland, and raids continued into the 12th century, but the military ambitions of Scandinavian rulers were now directed toward new paths. In 1107, Sigurd I of Norway sailed for the eastern Mediterranean with Norwegian crusaders to fight for the newly established Kingdom of Jerusalem, and Danes and Swedes participated energetically in the Baltic Crusades of the 12th and 13th centuries.[59]

I'd assume it's pretty easy. Lurk is using a vpn or something in the first place, tor browser and all. Unplug your internet overnight, use a proxy.
IDK how tight twitter is, but I really doubt they're hardcore with their bans.
