Why exactly do we allow archives?
I thought that originally the point of 4chan was to create a forum-like website where people can discuss topics (like anime) in real time while being completely anonymous. And to add to that anonymity, threads that are too old get deleted forever. Because after all, forums suffer from the issue that threads exist practically forever, so if you ever make a dumb post as a teenager, then 20 years later your kids will be able to read your old dumb posts.
4chan wasn't supposed to be like this...yet we allow archives?
