I want to make my own cloud storage from scratch. What programming languages, network protocols, and security tools should i learn about to accomplish this.
>>55782564
if you dont know anything. you wont be able to do this within a year ;)
>>55782612
I dont mind it being that long im still young and i love to learn new things
>>55782700
you can't just learn this languange and that protocol. You wont be able to do this. Get a fucking good network book. Get a good programming book. Languange doesnt matter.
Hey /g/,
I'm looking for some very light compression tool that's generally available on linux.
I don't need anything fancy - some kind of basic algorithm like RLE would be enough.
All I care about is that it's got basically no performance requirements, so even gzip -1 is out of the question.
Any ideas?

looks good, thanks
sup /g/.
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to get into someone's pc on my LAN?(Like by using cmd?)
Also how big are the chances i'll be noticed?
>>55782472
And would you care to share to me how exactly? or link me to a site that teaches me?
>tfw router can also be used as a NAS
>he doesn't have a linux router with eight 8TB hdds and 64TB of animu, mango, and cheese pizza stored on it

>>55782236

Low yields

They're OLATE to the party.
Sup /g/,
I'm looking at either buying a new pc, or building one, depending on cost and time investment.
I'm primarily interested in what would be a mid-tier gaming computer. I.e. I could play something simple like League on high settings, and something like Ark on moderate settings without having to worry about framerate or laggy visuals.
I haven't really fucked with an actual pc in years now, so I'm a little iffy about building one from scratch, but if it would be more cost effective, I'm down.
Could I get any recommendations on brands for parts, as well as already-built computers? I appreciate your answers.

How much are willing to spend?
>using intelliJ on windows 7
>installation was a breeze
>every werks
>using framework to allow me to develop for multiple platforms (android + desktop)
>can easily test progress by running the desktop version
>think my productivity will increase if I get a laptop for those long commutes and while in bed
>buy x220 chinkpad
>spend some money on it, new ssd, 16g ram
>hey this is the perfect time to try out linux
>do fresh install of arch linux following along the wiki
>not everything werks as it should
>eh not too bad there are user forums
>attempt to install intelliJ for loonix
>horrible experience and thats before having to port my code over one line at a time because the arch version uses different directory listings
>eventually after weeks of aggravation get the entire project ported over
>realize now that you can no longer easily test your desktop version coz not windows
installing linux was a terrible costly mistake
name times you fell for /g/ memes

IDK if this is the best place for this but whatever. So I'm moving to a completely new city to me in a few weeks, it's a big city here in Poland and I will totally get lost there, so I wanted to get a free gps (navi) app for android that will have a offline map. Which one is the best? I will only be using it for walking, not driving.
literally google maps for your criteria.
nokia here maps ? it's available offline or something like shitty osm
>>55782091
Offline, not online. Google maps only has this option of "offline areas" but it totally doesn't work it only make a picture of map that I can not even zoom in/out, make markers on it or anything it's just terrible, and for some reason it doesnt show me via gps on the map too...

Can someone explain this to me?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30h6hrxACdA
Did this guy invent a perpetual motion machine?
This just seems unreal to me.
Like, if he really invented it, why is he posting it on YouTube? Why hasn't a big company stolen his design and patented it yet?
Why do we even need gasoline powered cars if we can just make every building be powered by these things?
The guy says this machine can run for 50 years without stopping. Is he full of shit?
>Perpetual motion machine
>youtube
>>55781828
He says 50 years. So it isn't perpetual.
Nevermind, I guess he did patent it.
