Whoever downgraded to windows 10 deserves it.
So, Steam is shit.
Windows 10 has now been out for a year, and despite Microsoft's attempt to force a Windows 10 update on your PC, and giving their latest OS away for free, HALF of Windows user's are still reluctant to leave a seven year old operating system, and 80% are still avoiding the upgrade.
Will Windows 10 gain momentum, or stall at 20%?

>WINDOWS USER'S
dropped
Is anything modern still supported on XP, at all? Might upgrade to it from 10.
>>55764578
XP is dead. Can't even get a modern web browser to run on it. I would love to go back to XP, my favorite OS of them all.
I just bought a quad core phone x 1.3ghz running Android lollipop 5.1.0 for 79€
It does not lag. It renders websites fast and smooth. It is kind of pretty. Camera and battery could be improved tought.
Can anyone explain to me the lagdroid meme again?
This phone does everything that most people need for €79 euros. Why would I want to spend 500 more euros for a better camera, bigger battery or play phones games with better graphics ?
>>55763859
Because software updates and fragmentation
Android lag is a meme
Just wait for 8-9 months

Asking "Hey guys, what's your opinion on x?" is frowned upon.
Wireless is frowned upon.
Headset requests are frowned upon.
Noise isolation ≠ Noise cancellation
If you dislike a suggestion, try giving a better suggestion to whomever asked instead of going "hurr, x sucks"

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).

If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™
Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", ultraportable
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

Yes.
>>55779102
>was this far newer architecture more power efficient than this older one??
Gee who knows?
>>55779102
That graph is not wrong, PPC was (and still is) vastly more power hungry than x86, the famous G5 Mac's cheesegrater case was so big because half of it was for cooling.
It did however tear x86 up when it came to raw number-crunching performance, and continued to exceed x86 in certain key benchmarks (like rendering and simulation) for many years after it was replaced.
Post 'em. Mobile and desktop welcome.

nice facebook post, OP.
faggot
If you talk to people, it ain't IT.
OK /g/ I am thinking about something about Project NX. Nintendo's next console.
So instead of making a completely new console after NX why don't they do like the google phone?
http://www.wired.com/2014/04/google-project-ara/
It's still upgradable but instead everything is made and tested by Nintendo?
Could this work?
OK Pokemon Go can be the example that they will stop making millions of games and use microtransactions and a lot of games will become free over time and they rely on people buying their in game stuff
as for ara there, the idea is basically that of a PC but at the same time it could work. Do you want to keep buying the next consoles or do you want to just exchange a part or 2 like PCs? I'm not saying Nintendo or console games are bad but in this situation, buying a console just to play Pokemon or Splatoon or Smash, some people would rather not and say fuck it. Grant it I love Pokken.
>wouldn't that basically make NX a PC?
Sure to a degree, but like Ara here it's still the same thing to be used right?
pls talk to me /g/ I am lonely
You don't get it.
Nintendo doesn't want cool features on their consoles. They want to make money.
>>55779126
Yeah this is where Microtransactions come in. And I think Nintendo is starting to get this. I heard Pokemon Go is doing well with this.
is systemd part of gnu?
how is it determined if something is part of gnu or not? Just license?
should we not call it systemd/linux?
also does the push against systemd comes from gnu tards?
