installing linux was a terrible costly mistake
name times you fell for /g/ memes
I'm actually trying ubuntu and its pretty neat. I just need matlab really and I should be good to go.
>inb4 ubuntu
Shut up, it's my first distro.
>>55782123
>he had a hard time installing IntelliJ
>he couldn't write platform independent code in fucking java
My t420 runs win7, the thinkpad meme is a good meme.
>>55782150
listen I installed intelliJ and then imported the project that was running fine in windows
should work right?
NOPE
were about a gurillion errors screaming about using \ insteas of / which arch apparently uses for its version
you would think they would make importing be a thing that works right out of the box surely
>>55782123
>Arch
There's your problem op you faggot. Next time don't fall for the meme. Next time install Debian or a Ubuntu variant.
IntelliJ works perfectly fine on Linux, so cut the bullshit.
>>55782214
every sane platform uses / as a path delimiter rather than \
windows is fucked up enough that it takes both
although arch is a meme timesink distro you can't pin this on it
>>55782214
>blaming shitty Windows formatting on Linux
That's your own damn fault faggot.
I running the Jetbrains Suité with no problems whatsoever.
>intelliJ
>on Linux
yup, there's your problem, somebody gave you a defective brain OP, get that wetware looked at.
>>55782123
>arch
should've used gentoo m8
>>55782145
ubuntu is the best distro out there for a reason. and it has been for a fucking decade. There will always be redhat/fedora and niche distros like gentoo/slackware/puppy/damnsmalllinux but any major software company uses Ubuntu as the base for their Linux build.
>>55782123
I fell for the windows is somehow better at something bait thread.
I fell for the install bsd meme.
>At least I never fell for the don't install gnu+linux meme.
