so i'm buying a mac from now on.
all of a sudden poof smoke goes spewing out and this. wtf. pc's are truly house fires.
Yeah you won't be safe from that with a Mac either.
>>56037189
Macintosh computers are not only PC as well, but they catch fire more often.
Good luck in life.

mac's don't spontaneously burst into flames
Hey /g/
I am installing LED fans.
Can I plug the fans in with just the 3pin connected to the mobo, or do I have to connect the molex and 3pin at the same time?
Do the 3pin straight to the motherboard. If you connect the molex the fans will run at full speed all the time. Assuming your board supports it you will be able to adjust the speed in the bios.
>>56037137
Oh ok. So the LED's don't need the molex To be powered on?
>>56037293
Every led fan i've ever had drew power for both the leds and fan through the 3pin connector.

AHAHAHA Kill yourself.
I like this. Wireless is the future. Embrace it.
We wouldn't be a technology sub if we were afraid of the future.
Thoughts on a pair of cheap Chinese Bluetooth earphones for jogging?
>>56037084
Why? Considering wireless gets so much hate in the original hpg.
What's stopping companies from just compiling programs like Photoshop for both ARM and x86?

20 years of architecture specific, nonportable spaghetti code.
It's probably OS-specific too, this is why there's no linux native version.

Hello /g/
So I built a freenas server because I can't into any real server and I'm getting horrible transfer speeds, around 20 Mb/s on Windows 7 ultimate, using CIFS. It's even worse using NFS. Is there anyone out there who might know how i can go about increasing it?
Mobo/CPU: SUPERMICRO MBD-A1SAi-2750F-O
RAM: 2 x 8GB Kingston ECC DDR3
HDD: 6 x 3TB WD Red
PSU: Seasonic G series 550W
Boot USB Drive: SanDisk Cruzer Fit 8GB
Router: Linksys EA2700
All ethernet is a mix of cat5e and cat6.

Good evening everyone,
owner of neetco.de here. Germany really does not like anything related to hosting.
as of August 8th, I lost the rights to the neetco.de domain. according to the .de registry rules, I am required to renew the domain 5 days before it's expiry date, which is August 13th. the auto-renew did not go through because of a technical error. I have opened a ticket with Namecheap and evidently, if the domain is in redemption status, it will cost $200 to obtain.
that all sucks a lot, but that does not mean:
- any user data is gone. the server i run is still functioning. all user data is backed up like usual.
- i am in any legal trouble with any government.
- i have been issued any takedown requests by any copyright owner.
i know most of my userbase is from /g/, so i thought i would post here also. hopefully it is not in redemption status. if it is, i will be forced to switch domains.
cheers, /g/entoomen. you can talk to me personally on:
- IRC (#neetcode on rizon)
- email ([email protected])
bumping, hopefully at least one person sees this
Courtesy bump.

Does anybody use screensavers anymore? Everybody I know just uses sleep mode or turns the display off.
Why is this the case? I miss screensavers.
There were used to prevent burn ins on crt monitors
we LCD now. screen savers are useless.
I miss After Dark. That shit was so fucking comfy. I need to find a way to emulate it.
Male anon here.
Why is mediatek frowned upon here? They seem to make solid SOCs at affordable prices and usually beat out qualcomm in price/performance.
And the more popular phones with mediatek processors get custom rom support too, like the redmi note 2 or the LeTV Le 1.

Because I'm not a wagecuck. I'm writing my own apps/programs and then selling them or giving them away for free with ads.
Granted most neets would probably never put in the work that I do. I watch my chinese cartoons for 2-4 hours and spend the rest of the day reading programming books and testing out code and shit.
