What graphics card is the best value for the average joe gamer?

1060 is best value for 'avg joe gamer', and used GPU is a meme. Previous generation cards are overvalued on the used market and no warranty.
Why don't you have a comfy Linux tablet, /g/?

What's the best inexpensive security webcam solution? I live in a college area that's ripe with niggers and constant reports of break-ins, and I'm willing to invest in this so that if someone ever tried to steal my shit they would be identified, or at least recorded.
Oh and in the case of such a scenario, is there any recording solution out there that does something like store video footage online somewhere?
not a webcam, but here is a pretty decent security solution if you're on a budget

if you are 21 and have a little more to throw around, get a .380 or a 9mm. would recommend a bersa for the .380, a lot of good options for a 9mm though. some to consider for a 9 are beretta 92fs, a glock, sig sauer, springfield xd in 9mm.
no problem man, you're welcome
alternatively, move to a more rural or white people suburban area and pay around 800 to 1k a month in rent alone, rather than rent for 500 to 700 range.

I'm pro gun, but the thing is if my shit gets stolen and I come home from class and everything's not there... well you can't stop it then
Xubuntu, Linux mint with xfce, or Debian with xfce?
Been skipping back and forth with exactly these for a while. Settled with Mint Xfce a few weeks ago and it's been the best experience so far.

What is good on tablets?
If someone had told me when I was a kid that tablets would be around, I would have imagined a new version of the morning news, for example. That doesn't really exist, unless you count watching shit youtube videos on whatever CNN app is out there or something.
Is there anything currently being done RIGHT on tablets?
No idea about tablet tablets, but do have experience with surfaces.
Note taking on a surface is pretty fucking nice, surface pro 4 comes with drawboard pdf (Or for you fuckers that want to use XODO) and has every tool you could want for annotations on a pdf. OneNote (not office onenote) is pretty nice too.
I'd say for the less "lapability" of the surface pro, it really does gives an alternative to ultrabooks, especially with the pen.
People said the teclast x80 pro yesterday.
Only problem is the lack of battery life and no full size usb port (comes with adapter). Not sure if the battery is easily replaced or upgraded.
It's garbage technology for idiots. Ignore it and use real PCs.

I decided to say 'Fuck you Arduino" and and picked up a couple Neutrino ARM microcontrollers.
What's /g/'s IDE of choice for development on these?
>>56361731
Fuck, I meant Nucleo, not Neutrino
>>56361731
And for what are you going to use it?
I use an embedded system depending of what I am going to do
>>56361788
I'm going to be using it to control a microspectrometer which I'll be mounting on various platforms.
Assuming I end up liking ARM and whichever IDE I land on, I'll be using them in various robotics projects, starting with something like pic related
What does /g/ think of TypeScript?
>>56360969
A very popular game called PonyTown is made from it. So it's good in my watch.

Just read about it. Think I will code something in it cuz it looks interessting
As someone who finished his degree by using Typescript and Angular 2, it's completely fine. It's far easier to debug than JavaScript due to data types and compilation errors. You can minify it thanks to how it compiles to ECMAScript compliant JavaScript. Plus the overhead isn't large.
Now whether or not it is extremely useful is debatable. If you're good enough to write and debug JavaScript it isn't going to make your life that much easier. I guess it's useful for obfuscation and if you want to be lazy and just write scripts in your sleep. Just remember that the syntax is a little weird in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, you'll write it in no time.

>Nougat incompatible with SD801
What? Android has been modified to run on x86 so how has Google changed Nougat to somehow refuse a certain kind of hardware? I call bullshit until multiple reliable sources are provided.
>>56360065
>criticising a move that's supposed to push for encryption to be on by default
Thought at least /g/ of all places would support this.
>>56360347
It's compatiable just fine, but you won't get approval from Google because 801 doesn't have HW accelerated AES encryption or something iirc. That means they won't be able to have Play preinstalled.
So there will be probably plenty devices with custom ROMs of Nougat, maybe even my S3 which runs CM13 just fine.
What is the comfiest programming language?
>>56360007
Ruby.

java coders consider themselves better than everyone else, though
>>56361597
Or maybe Golang.
Ruby is more comfy in terms of "do what you want", Golang is more comfy in terms of "easy to pick up".

If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine using VirtualBox or other software made for this puporse for safety purposes.
1) Use the Live ISO (if your distribution of choice has one) to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything, that way, you can get to experience the GNU/Linux operating system without installing it.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS, this is recommended if you want to know more about the GNU/Linux operating system.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

Got so many questions. Don't know where to start.
What's the safest way to partition my SSD if I dual boot? Do I use the Wangblows tool or wait for the installer of Linux to prompt it?
as I said I ran into issues with UEFI installation.. that prompted errors related to GPU. What's a good, step-by-step tutorial/article detailing installing Linux with UEFI motherboard without disabling it? I read Archwiki but I am not quite sure WHICH page I need with me and how to apply it during Manjaro installation
>Tfw the main reason for why I want to start using Arch is to look l33t when running screenfetch
I mean, how much does it really matter what distro you're using? How your computer actually behaves for everyday use comes down to the DE and WM. Feels like choosing your distro is mainly about an ideological choice at this point.
Anyone here use an XPS 13? What distro/DE do you use?
