What is torrentleech's focus?
I was just having a look on there to see what I already have and could seed but they don't seem to have much content in the form of HD tv shows.

And the few things I have found are formatted as .r01-.rXX archives which makes it impossible for me to side seed.

You can't get out of doing a release comparison. "Upscale" doesn't mean, "pick 720" since it doesn't always necessarily go back very nicely. The encoder could also have downscaled it poorly. Yes there is, just check the mediainfo of the file and it'll tell you the encoder settings.

And he decided he would just re-render the CGI shots in higher resolution years later when it would be cheap as fuck

Unfortunately the studio lost all the CGI files so the latter was not possible
