What's it like to use a text-only Arch Linux completely from the command line with no GUI at all?
Very text heavy

If these retards are really willing to give up their rights for further technological control over their lives then surely there is no end to this and the only logical conclusion is to eradicate the majority of the populace.
Correct?
>the ends always always justifies the means
>for the greater good
I hope you realize you're thinking the exact same way the global population control elites think.
>>56626366
The difference is I'm right.
>>56626058
So you want to spy on people and get their info and you also think that they shouldn't exist exactly because of this.

Hey /g/, I have a 4690k myself and a friend of mine keeps flaunting that he got the 4790k instead back when we were putting together our first builds. Is there really any reason to own the 4790k if you're just doing basic desktop stuff along with gaming? It really seems like it only benefits you if you are doing crazy rendering or something of those lines. I can say he has much more trouble cooling his than I do as well, possibly related to hyperthreading? Not sure. At any rate, why go for the 4790K?
>>56626037
No, an I3 would have been enough too, lol.
Personally would have gotten an fx 6300 or 8320 instead though, they were still competitive enough against haswell.
4690k will last you a while, it's a solid CPU.
>>56626133
I had a G3258 OC'd to about 4.8 before my 4690K, which is quite superior to an i3 as far as I can tell, but yeah. Kinda what I thought.
>>56626186
No an overclocked g3258 can't even compete with an i3, it's not superior in any way.
Some newer games will even refuse to load with the pentium because it's dual core. The I3 has hyperthreading at least.

Going to college next year as it is my senior year in high school. I am applying as a Computer Science major with an alt major of mechanical engineering. If anyone has any advice for what kind of laptops are good for college in those majors please feel free to share. Also if you think I should wait for the next generation of Intel chips lmk as well because if I needed to wait I could go without a laptop for a while, or just buy a cheap one to last me til the new generations! I would also like this laptop to last me through all 4 years of college so I do not mind spending a little more money if I need to. Some things that are important to me are:
Screen resolution
Battery life
Comfort of keyboard
I am open to trying any OS and any brands!
Right now I am currently looking at http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/t-series/t460p/?menu-id=thinkpad_t460p

Update:
I wanted to add that I have a gaming desktop that I plan to bring with me as well. I dont think I will need so much heavy duty power in a laptop with access to this.

What product do you use on your screen /g/?
>Need to clean your screen with chemicals
What are you doing where your screen needs more than just a dusting? sort your life out, anon.
Paper towel and glass cleaner.
Worked for the crt's and now the flat screens.

Bought this processor over an i5 4460 because it was cheaper.
Now I can only find budget motherboards to put this on.
Is it still worth keeping?
Of course it is. That baby right there still kicks ass nowadays
>i7 5930k owner here
Z77 boards on ebay.
Can't really expect to find non-used products for an older socket.
I use it OP. It's flawless, but you might want to delid.
Sometimes the Delta T between core 0,1 2,3 is nearly 10°
Audio setups are technology...
...and I have absolutely no knowledge about them whatsoever.
I'm looking to build a 2.1 setup for bass heavy music. I know what a subwoofer is, but that's about it. What does the subwoofer get connected to? What do I need for the higher ends?
Also show off your setup and provide specs so I know what to look into!
>>56625859
>What does the subwoofer get connected to?
Usually to your preamplifier or integrated amplifier's subwoofer out. Depends on the sub and the setup.
>What do I need for the higher ends?
Normal loudspeakers which fill the rest of the response. Your match the subwoofer's response to them by adjusting subwoofer's crossover frequency. That's the basic idea. Doing bass well in rooms is hard and usually costly. A single sub will help with the LF extension but doesn't necessarily sound too good unless properly adjusted. Room is much more important here and controlling the room modes appropriately at your listening position is the hard part.

What?
did terry davis admit to murder today?
http://archive.is/l7ZDh
I live in a CIA prison. A nigger runs my prison. In prison, the nigger tries
to torment me. We can take away his knives by confessing, every day. In about
2000, I masturbated fantacizing about my niece, Lani. She looks like Star Trek
Seven of Nine! In 1985, at my sister's wedding, I stuck my crotch on the hot
tub drain because it kinda sucked. In 1985, I tried to get a dog to lick my
dick. From 1998-2003, I fantacized about leading a Catholic army like Dune, of
Mexicans or Brazilians? That was dumb because they're niggers. In 2003, I
played tag with a black girl about 7-years-old. She reached for my crotch. In
high school, in the library, Carlos and I said 'juicy' or 'toxic' as a way of
evaluating girls. In 1988, I cheated on my SAT by talking in the hall during
the break -- two problems.
On 9/9/1999, I killed a CIA nigger on purpose with my car. :-)
In 1982, when I was 12, I babysat Kevin's kids. I changed a diaper
because I thought that was being professional. In 1975, when I was about age
five, my brother, Keith, put my penis in a vacuum. In 1977, when I was about
age seven, my brother, Danny, got me high on gas fumes and we sucked each
other's dicks. Dr. Tsakalis had an oddly round ass. Paul Keck at Xytec had an
oddly round ass. Distracting? At about age five, Jay Weinrick and I touched
dicks to each other's assholes.
>>56625848
>did terry davis admit to murder today?
at least a year ago.
I don't mind, we can do without CIA monkey niggers.

Jesus Christ is this guy running wild?
>iPhone 7
>4 CPU cores
>multicore performance of the 4 core is less than 2x the single core
Anyone else think that doesn't seem right? Is the apple CPU a dud?
I know you don't get perfect multicore scaling and diminishing returns when you add more cores, but this seems worse than usual...
>can't run Linux
Its big.LITTLE.
Only two big cores are used in intensive workloads.
Multicore scaling is never 100%.
>>56625897
Still, you'd expect more than double single core with that config. The SD820 is a quad core with big.little and it gets over 2x single core.
>iPhone 7 outperforms all compared Android phones with its new A10 system-on-chip
>outperforms a fucking laptop on single- and even multi-threaded operations

I see Oukitel mentioned a lot here, but I'm genuinely curious, does anyone here own any of their devices?
If so, could you do a mini review with your thoughts on it? Would you buy from them again?
I swear /g/ makes up brands just to mess with me.

It's fucking legit, not kidding. They make some very interesting phones I'm tempted to buy but I want to know how good or shit they really are before buying.

>>56625449
What's the weight difference like?
>>56625459
G502's weight can be customized.
Ok you fags what are superconductors?
Pic unrelated again
>>56625297
Electricity flows with zero resistance.
The biggest difference is with almost zero resistance they can carry 500x as much current as copper wire. If you are building a railgun or particle accelerator it can get to the point you would need a meter wide cable to carry the required current and then it produces kilowatts of heat.
>>56625297
Something to do with electrons (fermions) pairing up and acting like bosons.
